Kind of dimly lit but clean and spacious, I believe this is the only Korean cuisine restaurant within this area unless you head towards Temecula so their prices are a little on the higher end. Service was great, all the employees are very friendly and attentive. We got the tofu soup which came with a side of rice and an egg, kalguksu, bibimbap, and an order of egg rolls. Unlike most korean restaurants, only certain entrees will come with 5 banchans (side dishes) for the whole table, in our case it came with our bibimbap. Everything was really good, classic flavors. The eggrolls I believe were veggie based.

This place is definitely a hidden gem in Menifee! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in by our server, Micah who was amazing!! Very attentive, explained the menu, and gave solid recommendations. The restaurant is clean, spacious and clearly family‑owned, which gives it a warm, homey vibe. Mama's Kitchen is the real deal. It's not an all‑you‑can‑eat or cook‑your‑own type of spot. This is true Korean home cooking, made fresh by Mama herself in the kitchen. The name couldn't be more accurate. The menu offers a good variety of different dishes, which are big enough to share between 2 people. We ordered the Japchae and the Korean short ribs (Galbi), which came with steamed rice and five small plates of banchan. The dishes were the perfect amount for my mom and me to share. Everything was delicious. The Galbi was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender, and the Japchae was seasoned just right with bulgogi and shiitake mushrooms. The banchans definitely hit the spot. I couldn't get enough of the fish cake, shredded daikon kimchi, and cucumber kimchi. The only thing I would suggest, is the size of their banchan! Their serving size were very small amounts. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Mama even came out to check on us, welcomed us personally, and even took a picture with my Mama!! Overall I was quite pleased with our food, even my pickiest critic, my mom, gave it her official Mom's Stamp of Approval, so we'll definitely be back.

We stopped here on a road trip just off the highway. Love the homie and family owned vibe from the get go. Prices are quite high for the area more like LA prices. Katsu was listed as "giant" which was anything but that. It was large but super thin, almost felt like complaining. The mackerel was the star dish and grilled to absolute perfection and juicy, highly recommend. The rest of the dishes were pretty much just ok. A decent stop but the rating here appears too high IMHO

My family and I moved here from OC a couple years ago and we frequently go back there for various reasons but we were craving Korean food after church in the area and stumbled upon this place. I'm not sure if it's because there are so many Korean food options in Orange County that this in comparison seems just okay. The food did seem a little overpriced compared to other places I've been to but I can understand that there's not really a lot of competition out here. The service was really nice! We had a couple questions about the dishes and our server made sure they were all answered. It's a nice and chill spot to go to if you're ever craving Korean food and in the area.

Consistently delicious food, service, and vibe! I went out to lunch with my friends and Mama's Kitchen is a great place for catching up. Elysha was also a great server, making sure we're doing alright and our side dishes were refilled.

I usually don't write reviews but I was so pleasantly surprised at this place. Immediately walking in, the server was really busy but very attentive and really nice. The food is a bit on the pricier side but that's expected for this type of restaurant. Food was a 9.5/10, felt like a home cooked Korean meal and the sides were generous and yummy. Would highly recommended the tofu soup and the spicy pork belly dish with kimchi, both were 10/10!! I'm not sure if the lady that cooked was the owner but it looked like she had taken the time to come out and check on some of the elderly tables which I thought was so sweet. Very happy about this place, I could see myself as a regular here

For some reason, I just never made it back here; probably because the Promenade area isn't usually along our route. Coming here tonight genuinely brightened my day. I had just finished a long shift and a commute, and all I wanted was a good, comforting meal. My nutritionist told me yesterday need to significantly increase my protein intake to help reduce muscle loss related to my autoimmune thyroid condition. KBBQ seemed like the perfect choice; lots of protein without a lot of unnecessary junk. On my way home, I stopped at two other KBBQ restaurants. Apparently, I was unaware of the unspoken rule that some places don't serve parties of one on weekends. One restaurant even had me wait 25 minutes before telling me they wouldn't seat a solo diner during the weekend. Unfortunately, my husband is currently deployed, so being a party of one isn't exactly a choice for me right now! Normally, dining alone doesn't bother me at all, but today it got to me. I was exhausted and simply wanted a comforting meal. Being turned away after waiting 25 minutes just because I by myself was the last thing I needed. When I called this restaurant, the owner or manager immediately answered and was incredibly friendly. He explained that they offer entrée and plate options for guests who aren't doing the all-you-can-eat menu. I honestly don't understand why more restaurants don't offer this. I know the food industry is competitive and businesses have to make money, but having options for solo diners makes such a difference. When I arrived, I received wonderful service right away, and there was no wait, but they were full. The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Today, I'm especially grateful for the kindness and generosity shown to me. You never know what someone may be going through, and a simple act of thoughtfulness can make a bigger impact than you realize. His kindness truly lifted my spirits after a long and difficult day. I believe this is a small family-owned business, and they absolutely deserve the support of the community. Great food is easy to find; genuine hospitality is much harder to come by. I'll definitely be back!

I came here craving soup after being sick and ordered the pork soon tofu, while my wife ordered the bulgogi. The meat in both dishes was noticeably tough and difficult to chew compared to other Korean tofu restaurants we've visited. Because I wasn't feeling well, I couldn't fully taste the food, but my wife and daughter both immediately noticed that the bulgogi tasted sour. When we brought it to the staff's attention, they kindly offered to replace the meat, so we requested teriyaki chicken instead. Unfortunately, another serving of bulgogi was brought out instead. By that point, my wife and daughter had already finished eating and gone to the car, so I simply asked for it to be boxed up. After getting home, we decided to throw it away because we didn't feel comfortable taking a chance on meat that tasted off. The side dishes also didn't seem fresh, which matched what I had seen mentioned in other reviews. While I can't say for certain what caused the sour taste, it left us without confidence in the meal. Another thing worth mentioning is that there was no air conditioning on a very hot summer day, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy a steaming bowl of soup. Also, the dishes were served on hot plates, but nothing arrived sizzling or boiling the way you would normally expect at a Korean tofu restaurant. I genuinely want local family-owned restaurants to succeed, which is why writing this review isn't easy. Every restaurant can have an off day, and hopefully that's what happened here. Unfortunately, this visit didn't meet our expectations, and based on our experience, I'd encourage others to use their own judgment when deciding to dine here.

The ventilation could definitely be better, but it didn't bother us that much. There was no wait for a booth, and the restaurant had a fun, family-friendly atmosphere with TVs throughout the dining room. The complimentary bread was warm, fluffy, and fresh. The cinnamon butter was tasty, though definitely on the sweeter side. The peanuts were exactly what you'd expect from Texas Roadhouse. For drinks, we tried the blue lemonade and strawberry lemonade. The blue lemonade tasted pretty similar to regular lemonade, but the free refills were a nice bonus. The strawberry lemonade was the standout and definitely worth ordering. We also tried the Dragonfruit Sparkler, which was fruity, refreshing, and one of the better specialty drinks on the menu. For entrees, the Herb Crusted Chicken Dinner was the clear winner. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and well-seasoned, and the corn on the side was surprisingly delicious. The Country Fried Chicken Dinner was just okay. He decided to give me the gift card this evening to enjoy a nice meal as our kiddos were at their grandparents and he was working. I ordered a $30+ meal the 6oz sirloin + shrimp and two sides. I got it to go so I could enjoy it at home. While I was waiting (I had arrived very close to the pickup time), I noticed an employee standing next to the driver's side of a car talking to the driver, who appeared to be an acquaintance. I could clearly overhear the conversation, and the employee was saying things that I found completely inappropriate to be discussing while standing right in front of the restaurant, even if it was technically in the parking lot. Two minutes before my pickup time, I went to the to-go window and received my food. When I got home, I realized my rolls didn't include the house butter. Whatever! It's not the end of the world. But worth noting as you would think this would be standard to provide. What became really problematic was the meal itself. I ordered my steak well done, but it arrived bleeding and wasn't even close to medium well. Why ask how I want my steak cooked if you aren't going to cook it that way? The shrimp was cold and incredibly salty. The potato? How do you get a potato wrong? Well, somehow they managed...it was stale and overly salty too. The broccoli I don't even think was steamed for more than a minute before you gave it "seasoning". The entire meal was awful and for $30?! Hahahaha I guess really the joke was on me for paying such an absurd amount but I really was expecting some quality somewhere. It just wasn't there all at. We still have money left on our gift card, but we'll be giving it away because we won't be coming back. I didn't even bother calling to complain because, judging by the quality of the food, I don't think a complaint would make any difference. I added a photo of my "well done steak".
