I haven't eaten Korean food since I was a kid but it's my friend's favorite cuisine so she brought me in. Mamas Kitchen is her favorite restaurant and she regularly drives from Temecula to eat here. I had no idea what to order since I'm unfamiliar with Korean food, I wanted to try everything! After checking things out I decided on the japchae, she ordered the tofu soup and bibimbap. Our meals came with sides to share including kimchi, some kimchi radish, potato salad, fish cakes and some sweet/tangy radish which was my favorite. The tofu soup had really good flavor. The bibimbap looked delicious and I loved all of the fresh veggies. My japchae was also really tasty, I made my picky mom taste it when I got home and she also liked it, woohoo! Kind of dimly lit but clean and spacious, I believe this is the only Korean cuisine restaurant within this area unless you head towards Temecula so their prices are a little on the higher end. Service was great, all the employees are very friendly and attentive. We got the tofu soup which came with a side of rice and an egg, kalguksu, bibimbap, and an order of egg rolls. Unlike most korean restaurants, only certain entrees will come with 5 banchans (side dishes) for the whole table, in our case it came with our bibimbap. Everything was really good, classic flavors. This place is definitely a hidden gem in Menifee! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in by our server, Micah who was amazing!! Very attentive, explained the menu, and gave solid recommendations. The restaurant is clean, spacious and clearly family‑owned, which gives it a warm, homey vibe. Mama's Kitchen is the real deal. It's not an all‑you‑can‑eat or cook‑your‑own type of spot. This is true Korean home cooking, made fresh by Mama herself in the kitchen. The name couldn't be more accurate. The menu offers a good variety of different dishes, which are big enough to share between 2 people. We ordered the Japchae and the Korean short ribs (Galbi), which came with steamed rice and five small plates of banchan. The dishes were the perfect amount for my mom and me to share. Everything was delicious. The Galbi was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender, and the Japchae was seasoned just right with bulgogi and shiitake mushrooms. The banchans definitely hit the spot. I couldn't get enough of the fish cake, shredded daikon kimchi, and cucumber kimchi. The only thing I would suggest, is the size of their banchan! Their serving size were very small amounts. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Mama even came out to check on us, welcomed us personally, and even took a picture with my Mama!! We stopped here on a road trip just off the highway. Love the homie and family owned vibe from the get go. Prices are quite high for the area more like LA prices. Katsu was listed as "giant" which was anything but that. It was large but super thin, almost felt like complaining. The mackerel was the star dish and grilled to absolute perfection and juicy, highly recommend. The rest of the dishes were pretty much just ok. My family and I moved here from OC a couple years ago and we frequently go back there for various reasons but we were craving Korean food after church in the area and stumbled upon this place. I'm not sure if it's because there are so many Korean food options in Orange County that this in comparison seems just okay. The food did seem a little overpriced compared to other places I've been to but I can understand that there's not really a lot of competition out here. The service was really nice! My elderly mother and I walked into this restaurant at 8:25 pm. It is posted that the restaurant closed at 9:00 on a Friday night. The young lady walked us to a table and plopped the menus in front of us. She walked away to retrieve utensils which she then dropped on the table and said " last call for food is 8:30. You have 4 minutes. ( just like that)... It seems she could have just said they were closed for business when we walked in, instead of seating us. I can't review the food, she didn't give us a chance to order. We drove an hour to try the restaurant... I just told her we would come back another day. I doubt I will though. I would like to inquire with " Mama" if their standing policy is no more customers after 8:30... or if this was just an employee wanting to leave by 9 pm. If so, please clearly state your policy. I was visiting someone in the area and stopped here for lunch. I ordered the tofu soup with galbi, which came with 5 sides. I didn't get my servers name, but she was great! It's a decent sized establishment with amble seating and K-POP playing. Overall, pretty chill vibes here. Now onto the food! My tofu soup, rice and sides came out first. I love that it came with an egg! The sides were picked radish, potato salad, kimchi, fish cake, and radish kimchi. The soup was pipping hot and had a lot of tofu, which I love of course! The galbi (about 4 pieces) came out on a sizzling plate with a bed of onion. The meat was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. I love that it came with onions! As far as price, it is pretty pricy for what it is. But I get it, it's how things are currently. My total pre-tip was about $40 since I was paying with card. I believe it would've been $37 pre-tip with cash. Overall, good food and good experience. If you're willing to pay the price, I say it's worth it. The food is a bit on the pricier side but that's expected for this type of restaurant. Food was a 9.5/10, felt like a home cooked Korean meal and the sides were generous and yummy. Would highly recommended the tofu soup and the spicy pork belly dish with kimchi, both were 10/10!! The Galabi ribs are not washed enough so when you eat close to the bone , you just get tiny pieces of bone all in your mouth. I purchased three things for $96 and there was hardly any meat! You'd expect the biggest portion of the plate to be meat especially if it was $45. "salad" is just chopped lettuce... I love Korean food but just drive to temecula! Food decent but... Service needs work. This is a small mom and pops. Just a little recommendation to the owners, you may want to rethink your staff choice to represent your restaurant. Lots of choices coming soon to Menifee, and you gotta be nicer, more welcoming, and maybe even smile to make your customers feel welcome. We felt the exact opposite and asking for additional sides, they make you feel guilty for even asking, immediately tell you about the up charge, but not clear about whether one side or one "round" of sides like all other Korean restaurants do. We'll continue to drive to Temecula even though we live in Menifee for Korean food. Much better service and value. Potions even bigger. Only go if desperate for Korean food in Menifee. Don't come for the service. They won't last long with service like this. Can't do it on food alone. read more

This place is WAAAAYYYYY too good to not have a line wrapped around the corner. I was a little suspect because there was only one other family there on a Saturday afternoon but man am I so happy we tried this place! The restaurant is super clean and culturally authentic.Our server was so sweet and attentive. She was the absolute sweetest. I usually take pictures of my food but I was so excited I couldn't get a picture fast enough. We had the short ribs, the marinated chicken, a ramen, the dumplings, and fried eggs for our toddler. Based on reviews I had super high hopes. But the experience was terrible. The quality of the food and portions of certain things was very low. First two of us ordered the Hot stone rice with kimchi and mixed veggies with beef. There was ONE type of veggie, bean sprouts. The portion of meat was minuscule and unseasoned. Honestly everything we ordered needed salt. When I asked the waitress about the veggies she said that's just how it comes. I let her know I did not want the dish and would like something else. She said okay, took the dish away and I told her and my new order. Bulgogi. I never saw that bulgogi. A friend had ordered a meal that came with a side of bulgogi and about 10 minutes after he got part of the meal she came back and said "the bulgogi is coming" and his came about 5 minutes later but not mine. Finally me and my friend decided to go get pizza while our husbands stayed to take care of the bill. Upon receiving our check my meal I didn't even touch was still being charged and the bulgogi wasn't even entered on the check. When my husband pointed out the dish that was returned the girl said "well we served it and it was touched so we have to charge you" Mind you she didn't explain that when she took it and I only touched it to hand it back to her. Thankfully the manager was there and removed the item. My husband got the katsu. It was dry/overcooked and under seasoned. It was edible but Ono Hawaiian is better and for 20 bucks that's shouldn't be the case. Overall bad food and bad service. read more

The lady serving us did not refill our waters and did not explain the 5 sides per table if an entree was ordered. There were 5 of us and yet we get the same amount of sides as a two person table.
