Delicious! Your of us had lunch here on our way to New Mexico. What a find! Very delicious food! The service was wonderful and spot on! The ambiance is comfortable! We were driving I40 across the United States and needed to stop for lunch. Following Google, we were directed to the opposite side of the train tracks. This became a problem as a very long train came through. We had to wait and wait and wait. That wasn't the restaurant's fault, just make sure your directions keep you on the right side of the train tracks. We were seated right away in the restaurant. Everyone was sweet and attentive. We ordered enchiladas and breakfast waffle with eggs and bacon. Just the right food for the time. We would have liked to have explored Gallup, but the road was calling. A nice respite on a long drive.

Stopped by Mama's Kitchen during our Route 66 trip and I'm so glad we did. Had the chorizo and egg handheld burrito for breakfast and it was mouthwatering delicious. The burrito was filled with egg, chorizo, hash browns and you got to choose between red or green chile. I chose green and it was spicy and super flavorful. The staff were super friendly and service was quick. Would definitely recommend if you ever stop in Gallup, NM!

Great place the locals seem to know, but not obvious for travelers. There were a lot of locals and we got some looks for being strangers but no one seemed to mind us, more just curious. The food seemed to have a mix of themes from traditional diner food, Mexican, and some native Indian influences too. This added to make the recipes more interesting, fresh, and worth coming back for again. We pass through the area a few times a year, we will be coming back here next time we do.

Grabbed a breakfast burrito when passing thought and it some simply delicious and wow under $7. Nothing compares to NM green chillies in the food! We are planning on stopping the next time we pass through and dine in.

My last stop at Mama's Kitchen was on a Sunday so I was prepared for a crowd and a wait. It was crowded but they had extra staff on duty and the service was fast and excellent. Got a cheese and green chili omelette with the beans. The chilies do not disappoint. Coffee was good which is kinda rare when traveling. It was so good got a burrito to go for dinner on the road. Will always come back when in the area.

Food was off the chain. Red & green chillie was spicy. Busy & family owned. Whenever in Gallup NM we will always stop.

I was making a quick refueling stop in Gallup and looking to fill up my tummy after the gas tank. Mama's Kitchen was nearby and appeared to be a family run restaurant. The business hour is only until 2pm so it is a breakfast/brunch kind of place. The menu were all basically breakfast related items. I ordered the burrito plate which was filled with hash brown potatoes, cheese and chorizos. The green salsa on top was hot as the server had warned me, and it was a good green chili. The pintos on the side were whole beans and not the usual mashed with lard. Overall, a very good burrito. I would have it again if I had a chance. I was there late so it was not so busy, and many customers seemed to be regulars. The service was fast and friendly. read more

What a nice surprise! We opted out of the chain restaurants and had a great breakfast! I had the burrito plate. The burrito was filled with hash browns, bacon, eggs, and smothered with chile verde with a side of beans. It was huge and delicious! Great service with a clean diner feel. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Gallup for breakfast. read more

The food was hot and delicious. I had the eggs and chicken fried steak which was moist and covered in gravy. I added green chili was nice and chili hit. Hubby had bacon&ham omelet which he said was really good- cheesy and a lot of meat. The kitchen is open only until 2pm on Sunday and it was busy. It was busy and tables were turned over quickly. Great service, quick and efficient. read more

Best Breakfast place in Gallup AND best green chili I've ever tasted. Service is prompt, servers are on top of it when refilling coffee. Price is right for the quality and quantity of food you receive. Bathrooms are spacious and clean, soap dispenser is filled. You'd be surprised, but I've been to multiple restaurants with no soap available. SMH. Check out Mama's Kitchen. You won't be disappointed. read more

The service is welcoming in this bright cafe. We dropped in for breakfast and chose the handheld chorizo and egg burrito with green chili. It's huge!! Filled with hash browns and delicious chorizo, egg and green chili in our case. The coffee is fresh and hot and the iced tea was fresh and tasty too read more

Driving through on a road trip and stopped by for breakfast. Was pleasantly surprised. The pancakes have a little crispy crunch even with syrup on them. Some of the best bacon and overall a great experience. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Bathrooms are clean as well. It's a great place to stop for breakfast in Gallup. read more

We were starved and wanted this to be wonderful. We were driving from Colorado back to Phoenix and love us some New Mexican food. Unfortunately, Jerry's was closed (Sunday). So we tried this based on some great reviews. It did have a nice local and regular feel. Service was good. Food was only average. Huevos rancheros was a blob of unrecognizable sauces. Husbands burrito with green sauce was only ok too. Wouldn't recommend unless you just need a quick mex fix. read more
