The CERT level of service and the quality of food is tremendous here at this restaurant. Gallup should be proud to have such a café offering some of the best we had three hamburger fried bread sandwiches with fried bread and we ordered three extra fried bread. The fried breads are like 14 inches wide. And they are not greasy. I give this place a 10 out of 10.

The Navajo cheeseburger is humongous. It's larger than the dinner plate that it is served on. Fresh grilled beef patties with sliced cheese, chopped tomatoes, onions, and lettuce on freshly prepared fried dough. When you enter, walk to the counter, order what you'd like, and theywill bring it to your table. The food was absolutely delicious. I personally would've preferred some sauce, like mayonnaise, and next time I would ask to have my burgers cooked well done. I could only eat half of the serving had to pack the other half up to bring home.

I had the fry bread loaded up with toppings and lamb. I didn't really expect much going into the hole in the wall and place but the food was fantastic. The vibe when you ate there gave you very much Native American, even the music playing to the customers who dined there, all very native. I felt like I was immersed in a cultural food experience. Also, there's a lot of negative reviews about them "never being open", I read those and rather than just showing up I called on the road trip to Phoenix to see if they were open, they didn't answer so on my way back home To Albuquerque I called again, they answered and I went and dined there. Do I think they could be more transparent about hours? Yes. But hey, if you call places before you go you won't have this issue. I know I do! Especially these tiny mom pop shops

We found this gem on Yelp while traveling from Sedona to Sante Fe. We wanted a traditional experience and it's exactly what we got. This was our first experience of traditional Indian fry bread used on a Navajo taco. The portion was big enough for the two of us to share. The lamb was delicious and we definitely left full. The staff was amazingly friendly and we learned about local legend Senator John Pinto. If only this place was closer.... Stop and give it a try!!!

Lamb roast and grilled lamb ribs are the specialties of the house. Navajo cooking emphasizes natural flavors. The meat is only lightly seasoned. Portions are huge. One order of lamb rib sandwich on fry bread can easily feed 2. Service is quick and friendly. Different cuts of lamb are for sale. It's a unique place to try.

Was visiting Gallup and found this place on Yelp. We're navajo and particular about our native foods. Owned and served by our navajo sisters and brothers. The food was delicious and service was great!!!! Huge portions!!!!! Very quaint as country music filled the air. Great place! Come eat!!

Stopped on the way home to TX because you can't be in NM and not get Frybread and some green chile, right? Absolutely amazing Navajo Taco the size of a pizza. The Frybread might be the best I have ever had! Service was warm, friendly, and like being in someone's home. Don't let the aesthetics deter you. This place is a treasure!

    Navajo Tacos...large and yummy!

Veri and the staff does a fantastic job. They are super friendly and the authentic local food was delicious. I got the Navajo tacos on fry bread and added salsa and a hatch chili it was very good. My family got the rib sandwich (lamb) and Navajo burger (beef) they said everything was great. We ordered the dumpling (lamb) to share and the thick noodles and lamb was very good. This place is must try in Gallup

Loved every second that I was here. The atmosphere here is amazing!! They have a strong sense of community that isn't really found elsewhere. The store owner was so friendly and welcoming; the food was incredibly yummy. Strongly recommend the Navajo Tacos!

This location is on the Historic Route 66 Highway. I'm still in search for the best New Mexico chili and trying as many locations before leaving. I enjoyed the huevos rancheros breakfast in green chili salsa at El Rancho. While dining at El Rancho, we met a group visiting from Wales, UK in the U.S. for the World Cup turns out Josh Thomas is a professional Rugby Player in Wales they were so nice. The service was great. I bought a few souvenirs and Prickly Pear candy at their gift shop. The weather in Gallup is much nicer and cooler than it was in Rosewell. Check out this near town! Happy Yelping :)

I ordered the three dips and chips - which is a shareable appetizer. It came out almost as soon as I ordered it and since I was only the third person in the restaurant I wondered if they had a bunch pre-made in case they got busy. The guac wasn't made to order. It looked like it had been sitting out for awhile, but tasted ok. Queso was good. Salsa was decent. Chips were good but I had more tiny broken pieces than actual dip worthy chips. For dinner I chose the Rita Moreno with chicken, no sour cream and no beans. I got it "Christmas style" so I could try both green and red sauces. When it was brought to me the plate had beans on it and the enchiladas weren't even hot - they were barely warm. The cheese garnish on top was barely melted. I started with the red side. The sauce was very spicy (I love spice so no big deal for me). I wasn't a big fan of the flavor so I switched to the green side. The sauce had a decent amount of spice but way more flavorful IMO. The tiny rice scoop was decent, but again, all this food was barely warm. The waiter came by once to say sorry about the beans but a random hotel/restaurant guest that was muttering something incoherently prevented me from being able to get a refill of my soda. By the time the waiter checked in again I was over it and asked for my check. I guess I could say the appetiser met expectation but would have been much better had the guac been made to order. With all the hype this place got I expected more. There is a bar and a gift shop connected to it and a historic hotel where apparently come famous people stayed long ago. Since I'm not staying there and was there only for dinner I would have rather had a better meal experience and less hype. My advice is to keep looking unless you have it as a stop on your bucket/checklist.

Then ordered the Coca-Cola cake to go (w the ice cream in a separate container). Server came back and said the manager "caught" her putting ice cream in a container & told her she couldn't give it to us, to go. Said that was "against the rules". And I couldn't have it to go. So even though I'm paying for the whole desert, I wasn't "allowed" to take it with me. I'M SORRY!!! WHAT!!?!?!?!!!! The server felt bad, so she "took the ice cream off of our bill". Well, ma'am... Miss "manager," have you ever had chocolate cake with NO ice cream???? Welp - that's like saying "you can't have syrup with your pancakes - butter with your roll- and apparently... HOT corn muffins with your meal!" So yeah, wasn't going to even give a review..... until the ice cream police told me not only were they not going to let have the ice cream....
