We are visiting Gallup for the day as we head to Phoenix for the remainder of the week, and we found Fratelli's on Yelp. AMAZING! When we arrived at 6:30p the parking lot was packed - and on a Wednesday! We waited for about 20 minutes and then were seated. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which is served with warm baguette slices - perfection. For entrees we had the meatball linguine and the chicken Parmesan- meatballs are house- made and were so flavorful, chicken on the parm was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Entrees are served with a side salad and their ranch was to die for- so thick and creamy. For dessert we had the chocolate gelato, which was the cherry on top of the meal. Yum! The place stayed busy until we left around 8 - a big party was waiting to be sat. The staff are very hard workers - they were busting their butts all over the restaurant for the duration of our meal. Our server (we didn't get his name, unfortunately) was wonderful. Highly recommend, and if we're ever back in Gallup, we'll definitely grab another meal here! read more

We were served undercooked pizza--twice--and it completely ruined our dinner. On the very first bite, I could feel that the dough was sticky and raw. When I checked the pizza, it was clearly undercooked, so we sent it back. We expected it to come back properly cooked, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. When the pizza was brought out the second time, it was still doughy and undercooked. I took photos of it, and they show multiple different slices--all of which had the same raw, gummy texture across the entire slice. This was not just one bad piece. Because of this, we didn't even get a chance to actually eat the pizza. That was our dinner, and we ended up leaving without being able to eat it. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. The manager insisted it was "ranch sauce" and claimed the pizza was cooked thoroughly, which is simply not accurate based on both the texture and appearance. I was also told I was the only person to complain, as if that somehow made the issue invalid. Regardless, we were served undercooked food--twice. They offered a $5 discount on a $21 pizza that we couldn't even eat, which did not feel like a fair resolution. Very disappointing experience overall--not just because of the food, but because the issue was dismissed instead of taken seriously. read more

We're driving through Gallup headed back to Texas, we stopped in after reading great reviews and this was a winner!! The service was great all the girls were super friendly! The place was clean and the bathrooms were clean too. We ordered the strawberry harvest salad, Alfredo with linguini and the vodka sausage pasta and house salad with home made ranch. Everything was delicious, we all had clean plates when we were done! Our daughter grabbed some cookie dough gelato on the way out and she loved that too. Definitely a win and for sure stopping by again in the future if we ever drive thru Gallup again! read more

I was impressed! It's a small place and the parking lot looked full. They have a patio for outside dining. NM is too hot for me so I sat inside. I ordered the 10" thin crust pizza with pepperoni, mushroom, black & green olives. My waitress was Ruth. She was extremely nice and kept my drink refilled. The pizza smelled amazing when it came to my table. Even better was the taste!! The sauce tasted fresh and flavorful! The toppings were just the right amount to have some of each in every bite. The crust was crisp, and light. I ate every bite and I usually don't eat the crust. In fact, I ate the entire pizza myself, which is why there are no pics!! I wanted to try the tiramisu but was too full. My check was $19 and worth every cent. This is a must try when in Gallup, NM!! I may eat here again before I leave so I can try something else!! First let me say that Angie provided outstanding service! Driving through NM today and needed a supper stop and decided on Fratelli's. So glad we did! The atmosphere is cozy and fun. We sat at the bar since all the tables were full. Drinks arrived quickly and Angie made some really good recommendations all of which sounded good. I always like to order something that I can't get at home, and the New Mexico Roadrunner fit the bill as it is a unique New Mexico flavor. Started with side salad which were ample with a lot of lettuce, a handful of diced tomatoes, and a sprinkling of cheese. I ordered the Roadrunner as a calzone, and when it arrived fresh from the oven I cut into it finding it oozing with cheese and a plentiful supply of toppings. It was a fantastic selection that I thoroughly enjoyed. We also had lobster ravioli as an entree, and it was also very good. Didn't have dessert but saw a couple being served that looked very tasty. And there is an entire Gelato display to choose from as well. Maybe next time. We came here because of good gluten free ratings. We were traveling so we ordered to go. I ordered the New Mexican Linguini (with GF penne). My husband ordered a calzone. My husband brought out the food and we took off. His calzone looked phenomenal (the reason I didn't give just 1 star) and my pasta didn't seem to have any sauce on it. I stirred it, no sauce. I ate the sausage and green chilis out of it but just can't handle plain gluten free pasta. We would have turned around to get it fixed but we had a travel trailer and it would have been too big of a pain to go back. I ate the sausage before I took a pic. As a first-time customer, I was really disappointed. I had heard great things and seen positive reviews online, but unfortunately, our experience did not reflect that. I believe the owner wasn't present, and honestly, it felt like due to that the service wasn't there. To start, we were seated by a very kind hostess who gave us our menus that was the only highlight. After that, there were no napkins, no utensils, and we had to ask just to be able to eat our salad. When I asked to change my salad dressing, the server gave me a strange, annoyed look. He was wearing headphones, which made the experience feel even more unprofessional. I had originally ordered the salmon special, but when I saw the lemon still had a produce sticker on it, I realized the garnish hadn't even been washed. That completely killed my appetite. I asked to cancel the order, and the server called a manager. After that, both my partner and I felt completely unwelcome. When I asked for a box, the server didn't bring the check until I got up and asked for it myself. I ended up paying $47 for one pasta, two salads, and the artichoke, which felt like a rip-off considering the poor service and uncomfortable experience. Great restaurant with good food and great service. The chicken parmesan was a very generous portion. The chicken was well seasoned with light breading and it was very tender and juicy! The pasta was good too. The salad that accompanied it was fresh with fresh tomatoes and grated carrots. The garlic bread and marinara sauce was a great companion to the salad. I was disappointed after such raving reviews . Only one side salad had tomatoes not a big deal but shows a lack of consistency. The " bruschetta" was just diced tomatoes with Italian dressing . The bread was stale . The ravioli was the only thing that was actually good . The lasagna was watery and barely had any cheese . For $20.99 the lasagna should have some cheese inside. It is sad when a grocery store lasagna tastes better . Tiramisu was really mushy and lacked coffee flavor. Why they put so much chocolate sauce is beyond me . The wait staff let people act foolishly loud and not once asked the party to quiet down . They should have been cut off from ordering drinks and asked to leave . Shame on the management for that . The total was around $66 before tip . Not that bad of a price if the food was actually good . This place has the potential to be amazing . I ordered a veggie calzone with no olives. I received a pizza with olives. The food runner told me I ordered a pizza, then said that the kitchen made it wrong. I said I would eat it as it was 15 min till kitchen close. Then the server came up to apologize and ask if I wanted them to remake it. Which I said I didn't. I appreciated the kindness of the staff. We were traveling from Arizona to ABQ and saw a billboard for Fratelli's in Gallup, N.M. We stopped for an early dinner and was very pleased with our meal. Our salads were fresh and delicious with homemade dressing. We split the Eggplant Parmesan on linguine and homemade marinara sauce. It was served hot, with thick slices of eggplant breaded and crisp, Very delicious. Generous portions at reasonable prices. We were so happy to find this place after visiting the Gallup Flea Market. Pizzas were delicious!! We got the heart attack which was a white pizza topped with chicken strips and bacon bits. The cheese pizza was a classic. The pizza dough was soft with a nice crispy crust. We tried the Poor Boy wings which was Garlic Parmesan topped with pine nuts. The chicken was cooked to a perfect crisp. Also tried the gelato, Horchata flavor was the best way to end a delicious meal. We will definitely be back to try more!!! read more

Had a stay over in Gallup while traveling. Wanted pasta and this looked like a good choice. Arrived and host eventually took us to a booth. Table cleaner left a straw on the floor - I moved it into the aisle, a path ALL the staff took. NO one picked the straw up while we were there. Wait for server to come to our table took a while. It took a while to get our waters served. Then, we FINALLY had to get the attention of the host to tell our server we were ready to order. Buffalo ravioli - very good. Chicken scallopini - meh. But he for sure ordered a meat pizza & we ended up with fried chicken strips & fries. Totally not what we wanted, wish we got our pizza which sounded good. We stopped at Frattelli's on our way back home to AZ . We arrived and Ruth(the owner) greeted us with a smile and quick step to our table outside. We had our two small pets with us and Ruth was sweet and greeted our girls with a cute greeting. We had two side salads and marina with some crust bread, which was delicious. Our entrees, were Scallopini and New Mexico linguine... sauces on both dishes were amazing and the rest of the dish was prepared perfectly. NY cheesecake for dessert which was perfect with our meal. Well thanks to Yelp once again (4/21/22), we found a gem in Gallup, NM. Our drive has been long and flying would be so much faster, but then again we wouldn't have found this ahhhhmazing restaurant. Totally liking what we saw in a few pics and craving Italian, we headed out. We arrived right before it started to get super busy around 4:30-5pm. Greeted and sat promptly by the hostess in a very large booth. We wanted some wine and asked our young hostess to have a little taste of the wines we were interested in. She asked her manager and the manager came over and okay'd it. Unbeknownst to us the manager Ruth was the owner. My husband ordered Chianti and really liked it and only $7.00 per glass, great price for any glass of wine. Not a lot of choices, but why make it difficult to decide?! Because I get red wine migraines, I opted for the Chardonnay which was good too. The restaurant is owned and operated by the entire family. The 5 kids serve and bus tables, husband in the kitchen and Ruthie herself waits on her customers. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her as I wanted to know about her restaurant. I loved the fact that she sat down while my husband was in the mens room to share about her business and family. Now that is great & personable customer service. We asked what she recommended and we were given several recommendations. We chose the homemade lasagna that Ruth makes. We were NOT disappointed!! The sauce was seasoned perfectly along with chopped onions and small diced tomatoes, not over sauced with yummy meat between the layers and whipped ricotta. But first out dinner salad with crisp romaine and homemade balsamic dressing, again very good. The bread she brought us is not like any we have had at an Italian restaurant. Triangle pieces of dense buttered baked bread with marinara sauce for dipping. Truly a scrumptious beginning to our meal. I was told that many of the recipes are family recipes. Ruth's uncle started the restaurant and then Ruth purchased it because she loves food and people. That was very apparent when I talked with her; very kind, sweet & personable not to mention a hard worker as she buzzed around helping wait on customers and serve them. On to dessert, once again asked her opinion and she mentioned the tiramisu, but said the gelato is made every other day fresh. Of course we opted for that. And as busy as it was by this time, she kindly brought us over some samples of her favs. We indeed were once again loving our gelato selections. Tip: the pizza looked really yummy. The crust is hand tossed. My only regret is I can't eat there again since we leave the next morning. So if you find yourself passing through Gallup, do your taste buds a favor and stop in and enjoy great food and a great family. Thanks Ruth for a wonderful meal at a great price!!
