GREAT APPLEBEE'S EXPERIENCE! This location is conveniently located within walking distance of most of the hotels in the area, right off of the I-40. Our server, Cleo was very nice and friendly. The drinks all came out tasting delicious. All of our food was cooked great. My husband noted that the appetizer sampler tasted better than usual. My dad loved the bourbon Street chicken, served on a platter similar to fajitas. We had a great experience at this Applebee's. The interior is nice, with art pleasant to the eyes. Unfortunately, this was one of the most unorganized dining experiences I've had. We were seated and waited 25 minutes just to have our drink order taken. Because service was already moving so slowly, we placed our food order at the same time. It then took another 15 minutes for drinks to arrive, and only 2 out of 3 drinks were brought out. After reminding them of the missing drink and repeating the flavor, we waited another 20 minutes just for the wrong drink to be delivered. My Mother's Day meal was not as expected. I ordered bourbon Swiss burger with fries. I got the dish but right away I felt hesitant about eating it. It was greasy. RUDE! After driving for 5 hours, we just wanted to stretch and have a quick beer before checking into our hotel. We knew it was close to closing time when arrived at 11:35. Doors were locked and we saw an employee open the to-go door, so we asked him if we could grab a quick beer. He asked a woman in a blue shirt "They just want a beer." Her reply: NO. So here's the thing... if you're going to close at 11:35 or whenever the sweaty manager decides to, you should update your hours on the sign on the front door as well as Google and all the other platforms that list this place as open until midnight. Yesterday evening, I ordered the blackened cajun salmon for pickup. It has always been good. But this time the salmon was 80 percent raw. When I took it back for refund, the General Manager said she had to contact the credit card company for my refund and just took information from my receipt. So I didn't get an immediate refund and not sure if I will. Anyway no apology from them. Only that they had a new cook. So I wouldn't go there until months from now, by then, the new cook should know how to cook the food. If you go there, check your food. read more

My experience was fine. I was greeted promptly when I arrived, seated promptly, had drink order taken and served promptly. My steak was cooked medium rare as ordered. Roach at the bar, there was an insect walking around on top of the bar. We ordered their new whole lotta bacon burgers. We were interested by the ads on the internet and it had been some time since we dropped by while shopping at Walmart next door. While having a few sips of our drinks, a cockroach tried to join our lunch. The bartender was obtuse and did nothing. The assistant manager was sqeamish but grabbed it with a paper towel. They comped our burgers. But we had to pay for our drinks. Then, we just left. The service is rotten here. The food is standard. The beers taps were out. It pretty much sucks except for the food. Although there isn't much choice in Gallup, don't risk eating here. It's just that friends and family keep wanting to meet here. We ate at Applebees this evening and I ordered the riblets, green beans and house salad with coffee. The food was awful. The riblets were burnt. I couldn't determine where the bone in the ribs were. When I did find the bone I found that the bone was burnt into the meat and when I cut into the riblet the bone in fact was burnt and singed black. The room temp was very cold. I had to wear a coat to stay warm. The lettuce in the salad was super cold that the lettuce and its contents hurt my teeth. That salad must've sat in the freezer and the server just took it straight out from there. It was so cold that the butter on the green beans caked within seconds. The coffee cooled so quickly I drank warm to cold coffee. I lost my appetite. I chose not to inform the manager and decided to leave a review instead in hopes that the establishment will work harder to improve and serve others better. Would I revisit Applebees? Honestly, the burgers we got were drenched in grease. The waiters were quiet I could hardly hear them talk sometimes and not as helpful.

So cold here. No beer on tap for a couple weeks now. Server was not informative. Came for happy hour and ordered budlight and server told us they only had bottles. Did not inform us that they were not on happy hour. We paid full price for bottled beer in a freezing environment. I am from this area and never did I recommend this place. They sat us instantly and everyone seems real nice. The hot tea is Lipton, and so good when snowing outside. The sandwich had a lot of feeling in it which I like, and the onion rings were crispy. Arrived and asked for a table of 5. Our soon to be waitress was helpful and we had two more people to add, immediate attitude. Wiped the table down and then proceeded to clean every table. Her name is Misty, and she said she was no comfortable serving us. Then denied part of our table alcohol because she did not "feel comfortable." The manager then shared that he wouldn't let them serve us as well. Apparently they felt like 3 of our party were already drinking even though we just arrived from an alcohol free event. We rolled into Gallup late on a Sunday - hoping to get dinner at El Rancho. Nope, they're closed for renovations. So we went to Denny's- and nope only to go orders. So thankfully Applebee's took us in and gave us really good service (thanks Carmelo!) and good food (beef nachos, tomato bisque soup, burger, fajitas, fettuccini Alfredo) and a "long pour" of Johnny Walker to boot. First time in Gallup and staying at a hotel by this Applebee's, so yes it was convenient but also good enough to eat here again the very next day because it was that good. The first night, everything was good but I really have to single out the salad - everything was super fresh, and a great mix of crisp greens (no wilt in sight). The second night, two great steaks came out and my boss and I both made happy plates even after spinach dip and a couple of beers. Great job by front of house, servers, and kitchen both nights. My experience here was horrible and I will not eat here again. I called two days ago to ask for a reservation for 11 people for a work Christmas dinner. They told me they don't do that but because of our 3 babies they would place our names on the list 30 minutes prior to our arrival. Tonight I called 25 minutes before I arrived and spoke to Destiny. She said no problem you guy should be seated soon arrival. We arrive 5 minutes before the time I set and to their surprise they didn't know who I was. I was told, walking in the door, it would be a 25 minute wait. After waiting 20 minutes with a screaming 2 year old, they said it would be another 45 minutes. They offered to split up our team between two tables, which we took because there wasn't another option with two 3 year olds, a 2 year old and an infant. You employees should not say they can do something they cannot. Bottom line. I'll take my team to Taco Bell next time. Happy holidays!!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would very horrible service!! We sat at out table for over 15 minutes until our server came to take our drink order and food order at the same time because he was to lazy to come back again. He thought he was killing two birds with one stone!! My partner ordered a bar drink as I just got an iced tea and the bar drink came out right away as I waited at least 5 minutes for an iced tea! Then the "manager " brings out our food and totally got my order wrong I ordered salmon and he brought chicken! He then took my food back and my partner started to eat as if they were to wait then he would be eating cold food!! The manager never came back to reassure me that it was getting corrected or even offer something in the mean time! About 10 minutes later still no food and my partner had finished their food I then had to get up myself and tell the "manager that I no longer wanted my food!! As you do come out for dinner to eat together not 15 minutes after my partner finished their food he then gave us a ticket and was sooo nice to remove a $2.00 iced tea off our ticked and still requested for my partner to pay for there part!!! As a manager the whole meal/ ticket should have been comped if they truly valued the customers and wanted us to return again!!!
