The pork adobo and bbq pork were both made using good chunks of pork with some bits still having the skin and some still having the good marbling of fat. Either way it was delicious and 100% no complaints. The egg roll was a little floppy, but really hit the spot. Okay, so this place is literally across a parking lot from my hotel and I don't have a vehicle currently. So, convenience breeds opportunity. First impression: When you first walk in, it's usually pretty empty. Not much to do about that when the restaurant is sort of out of the way. It's clean with open seating and you're not packed in like sardines. There's a big menu displayed above the counter. A bright yellow background with black writing and various pictures. Everything looks appetizing. Service: I've only been there three times within a week, but every visit has been wonderful. The staff are friendly and inviting. The owner, or who I believe is the owner, is always smiling and pleasant to speak to. You don't feel rushed when ordering. Everyone just goes at your pace. If you're eating in, they'll hand you a little table marker and you can take your seat. When the food is ready, they'll bring it out to you so it's nice and hot. Food: So, like I said, I've been three times within a week so far. The first two visits I opted for The Giant. The pulled pork was so juicy and delicious. Mixed with the potato and the BBQ sauce, it's a hearty meal. My third visit was this evening. I decided to mix it up this time. The three meat plate with brisket, chicken breast, and ribs with two sides. The mac and cheese and the fries. Everything was amazing. The brisket was juicy and savory. The ribs had little to no fat and were falling off the bone. The chicken breast was smoked to perfection, but the sides stood out in their own way. The mac and cheese was so creamy and wonderful and the waffle fries were the perfect combination of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Conclusion: The prices aren't the most budget friendly for a family meal, but nothing is with prices where they are. Is it worth a trip? Absolutely. I'm probably going back at least one more time before I leave New Mexico. read more

Very shady establishment. Menu in restaurant has prices clearly stated and published. When you get charged prices are higher. When I questioned the girl about the price difference she gave me some lip service about "they don't make the prices" that come up in the computer. I asked for my $5 overcharge and she only gave me $3 and told me I could complain to Dickeys if I didn't like it. I said to her just change the menu price but she refused. Classic bait and switch! Not to mention I stood there 18 minutes before my order was taken only to find out they're out of most everything on the menu. read more

While on a cross country road trip, we stopped for the night at a nearby hotel and walked to the Dickey's Barbecue to have an early dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised by the selection of menu options available, but narrowed our choices down to the pulled pork combo (#3) and the brisket combo (#4). Both were delicious, with an ample side and large beverage included. Both the quality and quantity of the food was an excellent value (less then $30, including a desert brownie), as well as fulfilling. The dining area was clean, spacious and had a pleasant decor. Highly recommend. read more

The BBQ all seems to be cooked hot and fast and is under done. - Brisket was black and appeared to have a bark, but upon further inspection it was from a hot fire. The brisket tasted like under salted roast beef. Our 1/2lb of lean brisket consisted of one thin slice and a ton of non rendered non edible deckle fat. Not with $15lb - the ribs had a beautiful red color and a little pullback from the bone. Unfortunately they tasted like bitter smoke and were not edible as they were probably 4 hours away from being cooked to proper rendered edible. - the sausage had great flavor! No juice inside from being poked or cooked too fast, but it was still a decent sausage. - the turkey was moist and we enjoyed that the most. - beans were good, but under cooked for my liking. I don't like Aldente beans. - the macaroni and cheese was full of sauce, had a good but interesting flavor as it was on the sweet side. A little salt made it much better. No I will not stop here again, but I do wish them the best! A better pit master could fix these issues easily and the BBQ would be up to par.
