We ordered for pick up a chicken breast meal, with a side of fried okra and Mac and cheese, lg baked potato for my veggie husband with extra cheese, extra green onions, sliced chicken breast sandwich. Arrived to pick it up, out of okra...so we went with a 2nd Mac and cheese.... The Texas toast was nothing like pictured. A sad thin piece of white bread grilled and sliced. When we opened the baked potato, no green onions, cheese appeared to not be extra, not fully cooked and no green onions. I was about to walk back over but called, was told they were also out of green onions... so I asked why they didn't tell us ? Could we have regular sliced onions? ( what a boring baked potato!) They then offered to bring them over, thankfully. Microwaved to cook it through. Stopped in on a Monday night for a quick meal. It was close to our hotel. Service was fast & friendly. BBQ is one of our favorite meals and Dickeys did not disappoint. Be careful not to use the Online order feature here. This is the second time I've tried to use the feature and they were out of a product. She was very nice to call me and let me know they were out of ribs so I had to try to figure out how to accomodate my pre-paid order with meats they did have. Which again, I had to play a guessing game. My suggestion is don't order online just go to the store to order and wait. Order was 12 minutes later than posted anyway. And this way you will be sure of what meat is available. It's only happened at this location both times. When I order in ABQ that is not the case. Was called at 8:15 when I was already heading over and told they were out of half my order and I needed to chose other items because they couldn't refund me. When I arrived at 8:37pm, the order was not ready. They handed me one large bag that clearly was missing items from my order. They tried telling me we ordered all one sauce and it clearly stated otherwise on the order. Overall we finally got our complete order by 8:55pm. We were the only customers in the entire place. The brisket was dry and almost inedible. They didn't put any onions or pickles as asked for. The "hot sides" were ice cold. I have had dickeys previously and was far more impressed. Wasn't sure about the place... But what a surprise. The smokey barbecue smell was inviting when we walked in. The ordering was quick, the food arrived promptly. The Cueban sandwich was excellent.. a bite of heat from the kielbasa and pulled pork that melted in my mouth. The only glitch was that waffle fries weren't available. I was in Gallup, NM on Wednesday, 6-15-2022, on an overnight stay. Ive been hauling food supply up to Eagle Nest, NM for the firefighters there. Decided to have Have Dickey's Barbecue for dinner, as we have one in Reno, NV. What a disappointment, I ordered the 2 meat plate with pulled pork and brisket. It took almost 45 minutes to get it and the food was cold. There was barely any meat on the tray. The biscuit was ice cold and hard, the beans were cold and tasted old. The Dickey's in Reno, when you order the 2 meat plate, it comes out steaming hot, and you the tray is full. On a better note, I did give a 1 star rating as the coca-cola was ice cold and very refreshing. In the enclosed photos, the after photo is the all the fat from the pulled pork!!!!!!!! The bathrooms need mechanical repairs. Toilet paper holders, door locks, paper towel holders, hand soap was empty. Modern, clean, and smells great. Slightly retro rustic, the place is open and well kept. We got greetings as we walked through the door, "welcome to Dickey's!" That's cool. We felt welcomed at the end of a long day. Food Compared to big cities with all sorts of choices in BBQ, it's ok. Considering it's in Gallup, NM, it's a huge winner. The mac, slaw, potato salad were all good. Smokey's in the busy part of Gallup is in trouble. This place does everything better. The only consideration is that there's no alcohol. But the bar at the casino is just down the road. Service Polite, friendly, helpful, patient, it's just good. It may be a franchise. I wasn't really in the mood for barbecue, but circumstances dictated that we eat something within walking distance of our hotel, so we found ourselves at Dickey's. My tastebuds pretty quickly rearranged themselves for BBQ once we walked in and could smell the food. I immediately became hungrier. I ordered the Brisket Mac Stack, which was brisket on top of macaroni and cheese. It doesn't come with any sides, but you don't need any because this meal is plenty on its own. I loved it! I liked it better with some BBQ sauce on top, which you have to ask for separate. This meal was fantastic and I would definitely order it again. Some other people at my table ordered meals that came with rolls, which I sampled. This is perhaps the one area they would improve on, which was the general consensus at the table. Although they were topped with honey and butter, they just weren't that great. We had a long day, so we couldn't leave without ordering dessert. They were out of cookies so we ordered blondie brownies. Glad we only ordered 2 for the 4 of us, because they were plenty big. They were part regular brownie and part blondie which I didn't expect but maybe should have. We warmed ours in the microwave at the hotel which made them A-MAZ-ING. Overall, I recommend! read more

The service is abysmal. The staff have apparently had no training in the hospitality industry. The food is average, at best. The only beverages, from a machine were watered down 1 part soda with three parts water. It is basically a shed with patio furniture. My recommendation is to seek a more reputable establishment. read more
