I worked for Blake's as a manager for 5 years in the early 2010s and the company as a whole has put profit over quality since then. Growing up Blake's was the absolute best, many memories tied to getting a lotacombo. When I worked here there was such high standards with everything and quality checks were abundant. I loved to eat here when I worked here. I've since moved to Tennessee and Blake's is always my first stop. Breakfast burritos are top notch and unmatched by literally anyone. Came here for lunch today and I think since they have gone to breakfast all day the crew is just confused and lost 24/7. Or just underpaid, I know as a manager here in 2010 I was only making 8 bucks so I can just imagine what's happening now. Took 25 mins for our one Lotaburger and chicken tender boat to come out. And our Lotaburger was made wrong (missing cheese and the diced jalapeños we asked and paid for(. Will I return? Yes, because those breakfast burritos are top notch and I'll have dreams about them until I return to Gallup again. But do better Blake's, I believe in you and NM doesn't have much else to be proud of! read more

We had seen a couple other diners but they looked closed. We were road weary and hungry and not really looking for burgers... THANK GOODNESS we settled on Blake's LOTA-Burger!!! The kids settled on chicken tenders, the wife on Frito Pie, Mother In Law had a chicken burrito, and I had the LOTA burger with chili fries. This place did not disappoint!!! Free drink refills. We fed the entire family for $43. The bathrooms were super clean. Michael at the counter was helpful in getting our drinks filled and suggestions on the menu. This is the In-N-Out of New Mexico and we were told we had to try it! We were passing through Gallup on I=40 and it was easy to get to. Blakes is just a burger joint with fries, onion rings, shakes and the "gotta have it" Green Chile Cheeseburger. Plenty of green chiles and plenty of grease. Without that, the burger was nothing special. Milkshakes were real ice cream so creamy but the chocolate one was light on flavor. We ordered a hot dog as well (not on the menu but there was a picture) Nothing special. Onion rings are tempura batter and very good. Everything was served hot. I hate to give a rating this low. Especially to a place like Blakeslotaburger. A main establishment in this area. But I've notice in the past few years the cleanliness is absolutely horrible in several of the locations I have stopped at recently. The tables are never wiped down and there's always trash all over the floor. If the food wasn't this good I'd never go in there. Actually the food has gone downhill lately as well. But I did stop in the past two days for a milkshake. I've never tried them before. They are absolutely amazing. I've gone back twice for one. But dam Blake's. Can ya just clean the place up a little? This evening there was only one couple eating, it wasn't busy, no line except me. I had one mobile order. The person at the counter appeared to be on a personal call. The fries guy told me the guy on the phone would help me. The woman with her back to me kept busying herself wiping and straightening stuff behind the counter. The guy in the very back not sure his role, cook? But I stood there for a few minutes, they kept looking at the guy on the phone. I'm getting agitated because all they have to do is hand over my phone order. Finally I said to the fries guy I'm here to pick up my mobile order. He reached under the counter and handed it to me. Cool little regional fast food chain to experience New Mexico's famous green hatch chili peppers! I love the adobe architecture of this place and simple yet cute branding. Definitely a vibe. Stopped by here on a road trip across the US and it got the job done. Service was fast and friendly and there was a lot of parking! I tried the seasoned fries and the Double LOTA Burger with Green Chili and Cheese. I thought the fries were very good! Crispy with a good amount of potato in the middle. The seasoning is in the same family as Checkers fries but a bit tastier. The burger was HUGE. I would recommend the single unless you're super hungry. Honestly I wasn't a huge fan of the burger - the patty was not very juicy and the lettuce/tom didn't have much flavor. I was however very happy to get a chance to try the famous green hatch chili peppers even though I didn't end up being a fan of them. I think the flavor was very accurate though considering the peppers tasted similar to the soup I had later that night. Overall, despite not being my favorite I would recommend giving this place a shot if you're driving through New Mexico. Always great to check out local chains and a very good opportunity to try out the green hatch chili peppers. read more

It's a great place for a Green Chili Cheese Burger!! If you get a Lotta Combo ask for Double Meat Add Chili Cheese (Bacon if you like). Your given a choice of Regular Fries, Seasoned Fries, or Onion Rings. Be ready to wait for more then 10 minutes for your food. When in NM, eat at Blake's Lotaburger. It's a statewide chain so you're usually not too far from the goods. They make really solid Green Chili Cheese Burgers--nothing fancy, definitely not boujee...just a tasty, slightly greasy burger with that addictive green chili heat. This location was poppin! With COVID regulations in place, only a limited amount of people were allowed inside so there was a line out the door. Indoor dining was off limits, so takeout was the only option. Fine with us as we were just passing through. The line did move very slowly and the staff seemed to be struggling to stay on top of in-person and phone orders. But hey once we got our food and hit the road to chow, it hit the spot. Ordered fries on the side and a Diet Coke, and it's a great combo. read more

My family and I after a quick little trip to Gallup, decided to get breakfast burritos at this establishment. Upon arrival we were excited to have gotten a confirmation that our online order was ready for pickup. After about 45 min, we went inside to get our order when we weren't greeted friendly. The customer service was not all that good. The cashier who had given us our order was very rude and seemed annoyed. When we had received our order we checked to see if anything was missing. We noticed our fries weren't in the bag so we had to go back in and wait in line for another 20 mins. This was an inconvenience that has never happened here throughout the many times of coming to this location. When we got what we had ordered we noticed that it wasn't satisfactory from previous orders here. We got a couple of seasoned fries and onion rings. The fries were okay but the onion rings on the other hand wasn't a lot especially for a large sized bag. There was only 4 medium sized onion rings in a large bag which was disappointing for the price we paid. Overall we weren't happy with this experience, we felt that lotta burger could have done way better but considering what we got and how we were served I'd highly recommend going to other locations around Gallup, NM. read more

What a wonderful place to have a delicious burger with family and friends. This location was not hard to spot after getting off the freeway from a loonnng out-of-state trip. My family and I stayed at a nearby hotel where we were able to stretch while taking a short walk to this clean fabulous burger joint. Glad I found this place way out here. If you're on the road like I was, this is definitely the place to stop. Looking at the reviews of other places in the area I was hesitant to stop but so far from ABQ was probably going to go ahead and chance it. This place is as good at this location as any other Blake's I've been to and was a breath of fresh air when I found it in the area with such limited options. If I could give zero stars I would. There was a long line behind me when I ordered and every person got their order called but mine. I waited and waited and waited and I wasn't getting my order number called. We ordered at 11:33 and didn't receive my order until about 12:20 or so. We kept asking for our order and the lady kept saying they were working on it. We asked about 3 times and that they were working on it. I kept sending my husband up and they would just have him waiting on the side. I was frustrated and once we got our order everything I asked to take out like no cheese or no salsa was added. Fast service but food was cold. Ordered season fries and they weren't fresh. The hamburger buns were stale and old. Was hungry for a cheeseburger. Once we saw this on google it sounded amazing. But it wasn't. Burgers were dry and flavorless fries were burnt. I got an iced coffee as well and it was HORRIBLE! I respectfully asked if I could get a refund and the front counter lady walked up to one of the cooks and then came back and told me there was no manger here to do one so she offered me large soda instead. I went ahead and accepted. As we were leaving a night manager was walking in and we asked her about what's going on inside and the lady on the front end lied to me. Because there is a manger there that was capable of doing refunds. I do not understand why they straight up lied to me. That was very disappointing. But the night shift manager took care of it all for me and lectured the lady on the front. They need to hire better staff. Thankfully for that night shift manager. The cashier was rude (Larena) is what is on the receipt tried to place my order but all she did was make all my orders the same which I tried telling her it was wrong ! But she just stood there rolled her eyes huh I just payed the bill cause I was in a rush an to top it off the restroom was out of order omg !!
