It was pouring rain mixed with snow. We had sat in traffic for over three hours and finally got a chance to get food. Thank goodness this location was serving breakfast all day. We received our made to order breakfast burritos. Perfect in every bite. What really stood out was the outstanding and friendly customer service. Wow, what a great burger! And the fries were super good too. I loved the piña colada milk shake even though it seemed like they left the coconut part out lol, my wife was not a big fan. Be advised that there is no inside dining, and maybe about 10 outside concrete picnic tables. Service was a bit slow as there were a lot of customers and they seem to cook each order when you make it. If it is windy, too hot or too cold, you'll want to sit in your car or take your meal to go. I grew up in west Texas and ate many a Lotaburger on roadtrips in NM, and I was excited to treat my family to Blakes on a recent roadtrip through Gallup. The food was just as tasty as I remembered, but the experience left much to be desired. The staff were either indifferent or rude. All condiments, napkins and ice were kept behind the counter and requests for more were met with exasperated eye-rolls from the lady at the counter. Access to the bathrooms requires someone behind the counter to "buzz" you past the security door, which is yet one more for interaction with the rude staff. read more

Gallup has at least three of these restaurants in town. We tried this location because it was closest to where we were staying and it had the fun "car hop" feel to the building and parking. That is where the good stuff ends. I went into a small glass-enclosed entrance and ordered at the window. The staff was not overly friendly but was efficient. They gave me a number that they called over the loudspeaker when it was ready. I ordered a chili dog for my husband which cost more than my burger and had no flavor. I ordered an ITSA burger and fries for myself. This was one of the worst burgers I've had. The patty was smaller than a McDonald's burger patty and they put gross wilted lettuce on top. The cheese was an American cheese slice which isn't my favorite either. The fries were cold and undercooked. They have Mexican food options on the breakfast menu which is served all day and seemed popular with the other patrons. Maybe I should have ordered off that menu, but unfortunatly I won't be back to try it again. read more

I stop at Blakes Lotaburger every time I drive through Gallup. I'd recommend ordering about 20 mins before you get there because they prepare everything fresh. The green chile is so delicious so be sure you add it to your cheeseburger! read more

This location never fails to disappoint! The breakfast burritos are always amazingWe travel to ABQ often from PHX and this is our go to spot. Since its off the Interstate, theres less traffic and appears more of a local spot. Using the app on the road makes it even easier. People often complain about consistency . in ABQ, but this Gallup location knows what they are doin! We will continue to stop here. I don't enjoy the new ordering system where you have to pay online before they start your order, mainly because I use cash to pay most times. So this morning I decided to just order in person, the team working this morning was polite and nice to each other which does not go unnoticed. With an overwhelming amount of orders to make, they still offered free coffee to those who qualified for it, sometimes that meant 4 coffees per order!! But they were quick and had good team work. They all greeted me when I first entered the establishment and one worker in particular stood out to me, the cashier(whose name slipped my mind) and Brian. Brian was full of witty jokes and a positivity that only added to the welcoming atmosphere. Let's begin with the start. Just after ordering I can see that the kitchen was chaos. This location didn't focus on quality of making a good product. My order was pretty simple yet it took quite a bit longer than usual. I got the wrong order; the order was missing stuff; ordered burger with green chili and there was a dab of chili; and it really lacked taste. However, the service was rotten. It took longer than 2 others who came after us. Our order was delivered without the shakes so we waited longer. The guy was really nice and he looked tired. Breakfast burritos are consistently tasty, I'm picky about hash browns and red chili, both are good at this chain. Bacon could benefit from being upgraded and cooked crispier (in my opinion). Specific to this location: Customer service is nonexistent. They open and shut the little windows on you. My New Mexico native boyfriend loves Blake's and we make it a habit to visit Blake's as many times as possible on each visit to his home state. This was our first time driving to Albuquerque from San Diego and we were ecstatic to learn that there were three Blake's locations in Gallup. This was the only location that serves breakfast all-day though and my boyfriend is primarily obsessed with the meatless breakfast burrito with red and green chile so we knew this would be our lunch spot. I wasn't feeling a burrito for lunch though and debated between the three chicken options before settling on the chicken strips with upgraded seasoned fries and cherry milkshake. Somehow, we had never tried the seasoned fries before and they will now become a part of our regular rotation as we loved them! Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the chicken as it was just okay. I think my biggest issue though was the ranch, which was can make or break a meal for me, and it definitely broke it here. It tastes like bottled ranch and not fresh homemade ranch, like our other New Mexico obsession (Dion's) makes. I think if the ranch had been better, or if I had asked for barbecue as another dipping sauce option, the chicken would have been more enjoyable too. Luckily, the fries were delicious on their own and the cherry milkshake continues to be one of my favorite things and I'm so glad Blake's offers it as an alternative the other traditional flavors. Blake's is not fast food. Not even by New Mexico standards. However, this one is the best I've been too. They have their own Proprietary Hatch green chili crop now and it is excellent on their burgers. Starts slow, finishes hot! Everything is made after you order it which increase the quality as well. Natural cut fries or seasoned, you can't go wrong. This is NM's rip off version of Whataburger, but I hate to admit it...this was better than any trip to Whataburger that I've had. read more

Prior to coming here I had to do a Yelp search on where to find a decent Hatch Chile Cheeseburger because apparently it's a thing in New Mexico according to her. After zeroing in on a place and it being just down the street from the RV park we were staying at, her and I set off to get these illustrious burgers. Basically Blake's is your typical local run of the mill drive-in kind of place. You walk in, order and then wait for your number to be called. The staff here were as nice as they could muster, tried to crack a joke but it fell short, oh well not everyone thinks I'm the next Comic Superstar, moving on... They made quick work of making the burgers my mom was salivating over and we jetted back to our overnight homestead. However, this one doesn't have a public bathroom and it was a nuisance to drive to McDonalds and then return to pick up the order we placed before being told no go on the bathroom.
