Overnight Oats
Angela R.

We stopped here for breakfast while we were in the area. It was around 9am on a Thursday and the place was packed with a line to the door. You order your food, get a number and they bring the food to you. The food was ok. I ordered the overnight oats. They just didn't have much flavor. I also ordered a hot chai tea latte. It was good but had too much froth on the top for my liking. I didn't get much of the chai flavor as I was drinking it. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich. He also said it did not have much flavor.

Maman is a solid chain bakery I can rely on most of the time. As the prices of pastries at other bakery shops go up, Maman is reliable. I have been to several Maman bakeries and found this location to be the most pleasant.

papa's breakfast bowl,

This is my go-to place to eat in Georgetown. Good service, amazing food, and a nice atmosphere. I enjoy the papas breakfast bowl, it is very filling but so worth it. The matcha is also something worth trying, and I'm quite picky with my matcha! Overall a great experience, and can't recommend enough! Will be returning.

strawberry citrus cruffin

This place was super cute and packed when we stopped by on Sunday for brunch! After browsing, I went with the Chicken sandwich and decided to try the Strawberry citrus cruffin along with a chai. The food came out pretty quickly and overall was impressed! The baguette bread on the sandwich was nicely toasted and came with a good amount of chicken. The cruffin was quite good and had a good amount of strawberry jam in there and loved the tartness so it balanced out the sweetness. The chai was also good and nothing remarkable but loved that it wasn't overly sweet. The staff were super friendly and loved the overall atmosphere of the place! Overall would recommend if you are close for either picking something up to go or dining in!

My motto is whenever possible, stop at a maman and you will not be disappointed! Thankfully this location keeps me in that direction. Ordered a honey lavender iced matcha, a cookie, and a chicken sandwich that did not make the photos because I was too hungry. Staff was friendly, it was clean and looking at that case of baked goods is enough to make anyone want to come back for more. The decor and setup is very nice and the perfect place to hang with a friend and catch up or grab a bite before work.

smashed avocado tartine
Josiah L.

The space is the first thing you notice--high ceilings, lots of greenery, and blue-and-white china throughout. It's bright and comfortable, with a small retail section near the communal table. Gets busy but stays manageable. The avocado smoked salmon tartine was the standout. Seeded sourdough with smashed avocado, smoked salmon, pickled red onion, cherry tomatoes, striped chioggia beets, dill, parsley, and pumpkin seeds. They bring extra salmon on the side, which I appreciated. Fresh and well put together. The candied bacon was thick and smoky with a good caramelized edge--a nice savory-sweet contrast to the tartine. Cold brew was smooth and not bitter. Did the job on a warm day. One note: the line builds at peak times, so come early if you want a relaxed table. Otherwise a well-executed brunch I'd happily repeat.

I came here twice on a short visit to DC. The chocolate chip cookies with nuts are really moist with a lot of chocolate! Almond croissant was really buttery inside and crispy on the outside. My latte was the best that I have had in a long time. The decor inside this restaurant is beautiful.

Love the ambiance inside with the plant greenery garden scene! It was busy but the food and drinks came out quickly. Service was great. The steak sandwich was so yummy, all the flavors and texture was on point!

Honey lavender latte
Rebecca C.

5/5 coffee with fun seasonal flavors. Honey lavender was just the perfect amount of not too sweet. Small cafe which was not too busy during the weekday. Indoor lighting. Picturesque cafe with flowers overhead. Will have to go back to try pastries and the light lunch options!

Tinny L.

4/5 only because the pistachio crossiant was a bit too sweet and a little soggy, which is understandable because of the cream but have had a bit crispier elsewhere. 5/5 for the breakfast sandwich which has this candied bacon that made me nostaglic of Asian jerky. Lavender honey latte was perfect not too sweet, could still taste the coffee.

Justine T.

Their aesthetic is adorable! From the coffee cups to the decor, it's all so charming. It felt a bit cramped inside, though, since the tables were pretty close together. I enjoyed the maman breakfast sandwich - the avocado was creamy and the brioche bun was soft, however the candied bacon's sweetness was a tad overpowering (and I have a sweet tooth). The service wasn't the friendliest, especially when I asked a polite question. Still, I would come back to try their yummy looking pastries!

Sesame Tahini Latte - yum!
Delana A.

I love the variety of options on their menu! I stopped by for a very quick treat. The service was great & I loved the coffee! Can't wait to come back, sit down & give this place another try. I ordered: Sesame Tahini Latte w oatmilk -- 8/10 Vegan Zucchini -- 5/10 not that great, you could definitely make a better version at home. It was also really small & not worth the price. I should have gotten a different vegan treat.

Gail B.

What a cute place! Maman is charming. It's part upscale Starbucks, part bakery, part Harrod's tea time. It's located across the street from Carnegie Library, The fresh dishes are wonderful. I had the grilled cheese. It is delicious and not oily. My friend had quiche & a salad. You can serve yourself a bottle of water to save trips to the filling station. After you order, an employee brings food to the table. This location gets crowded. Visit early.

The menu is filled with typical diner options but with upgraded twists. My partner had hash browns and a biscuit. Both were homemade. The biscuit was flaky and served with butter and jam. I had the loaded breakfast biscuits which were incredible. Flaky biscuit, hash browns, homemade sausage, over easy eggs, Caramelized onions, and BACON JAM!! Everything was perfect but the kicker was the slightly sweet and sour bacon jam which added an amazing depth of flavor. The service was great and friendly with plenty of tables. They even have a full baking kitchen for all desserts, breads, and biscuits. Check out Unconventional Diner if you're in DC.

Place: it has more of a casual feeling with some ambience. Feels comfortable with wooden furnitures. Service: I believe we had Micah who was just exceptional- very personable and gave us the perfect recommendations. Fast and prompt service. Food: every dish we ordered was amazing. Cobb salad was really great- but the bacon on top was theee best bacon I've ever had. I've been content with just that order. Amazing oysters- fresh and condiments went very well. Now steak was Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Now-- I am not a "bread lover" but Micah said the place was known for its biscuit (they charge for it and I would too if it's this good). Told him about my lukewarm love for the bread and he said "I would order it for educational purposes". I like education , especially this kind of education so I did- and yes, it is true. It was theee highlight of the night. Oh it's special. Crispy- and buttery almost like half croissant and half biscuit. The jam and pimemto cheese just out of this world. We actually came home and researched the recipe of "wanna be- st. Anselm biscuit" Definitely one of the best educational experience I've had. Price: I thought it was reasonable. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. That said, there were a few things I would love to see. The coffee/tea menu wasn't quite too extensive for a brunch spot (would have loved more non-coffee drinks). There are also some upcharges to be aware of not on the menu (like cheese in eggs), which is not all too uncommon for brunch but still something to note!

What a special place in Washington, DC we have here…read more It is said a lot of members of congress dine here and I can understand why. Everything is delicious here!!! I started here for my birthday with some escargots, fantastic. Pro-Tip: Don't forget you can dip that terrific breadbasket they give you with some of the leftover garlic sauce from your escargots. We both decided to split the Beef Bourguignon. The most tender beef you can imagine, you do not need a knife to eat, and it was accompanied with buttery goodness in the creamy potatoes and some carrots for good measure. For dessert we ordered the vanilla bean crème brûlée. French dessert at a French restaurant was a no brainer. The top of the dessert packed a crispy, sugary, slightly burnt tasting palate cleanser that definitely will keep you a pick me up, who needs an ECT shock to get the heart going when you can take a scoop of pure sugary bliss! This is a must go to if you are in the DC area, but be sure to make reservations it fills up quickly. As always people SYOY!!!

The cheese puffs and artichokes were mediocre, and the macarons were fine but nothing memorable. The tarte flambée was slightly below average. It tasted mostly like cheese and fat, with none of the depth or balance I expected. The biggest disappointment was the steak au poivre. We ordered it medium rare, which our server specifically said was also the chef's recommendation, but it arrived somewhere between medium and medium well. More surprisingly, it was one of the toughest steaks I have ever eaten. At $49, that is unacceptable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing: bland, not buttery, and nothing like the rich French pommes purée I expected. We also ordered the carrots, but they never arrived. At least we were not charged for them. The crème brûlée was good, but a good crème brûlée could not redeem the meal. The service was attentive and polished. The restaurant was also nearly empty at 5 p.m. on a Friday, with only one other table occupied inside and a few people outside, which in hindsight may have been a warning sign. Beautiful room, decent service, deeply disappointing food. I would not return.

Great food, incredible service, and such a cute intimate brunch spot!…read more I went to Tiffany's Bar and Bistro in DC for Sunday brunch with my family, and we had such a good experience. This is a cute American-Mediterranean spot with an intimate atmosphere, beautiful decor, and not too many tables, which made it perfect for a relaxed family brunch. It wasn't overly loud or crowded, and the service was incredible from start to finish. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. I started with an espresso martini, and this was a 10/10 honestly, a thousand out of 10 . It was strong, delicious, and one of my favorite espresso martinis I've had recently. For an appetizer, we got the Sampler of All, which lets you try several of their spreads. We tried the chickpea tahini, Hripiti with roasted red pepper, Greek feta and fresh thyme, Greek yogurt with Persian cucumber and dill, and beet labneh with walnuts. My favorite was definitely the Hripiti the roasted red pepper and feta combination was so good! The sampler was definitely different from what I expected, but I liked being able to try several of the spreads. For my entrée, I had the short ribs and eggs, which I believe was an off-menu option. It was DELICIOUS. I actually took some home, and it reheated really well the next morning for breakfast, which is always a win! My family also ordered the shrimp and grits, Wagyu burger, pistachio French toast, and Ciftlik Breakfast with scramble and rose & cardamom biscuits. Everything we tried was really good, and there was a nice variety of sweet and savory options for everyone. Another thing I loved was that brunch was pretty reasonably priced for DC. We spent less than $50 per person, including drinks, which I thought was a great value considering the quality of the food, cocktails, service, and overall experience. The service was probably one of my favorite parts of the experience. Our server was very attentive and paid attention to the little details without being overbearing. You could tell they genuinely cared about making sure we were enjoying ourselves. And the decor is so cute! They have a little swing that we took pictures on, which was a fun touch and definitely added to the experience. Overall, Tiffany's was exactly the type of brunch spot I enjoy good food, strong cocktails, beautiful surroundings, great service, and an intimate atmosphere where you can actually sit, talk, and enjoy your meal. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner and happy hour. Definitely recommend checking out Tiffany's if you're looking for an American-Mediterranean spot in DC!

It sounded like the regular chef wasn't in yet or something & whoever was cooking kept telling the server there was no syrup until the server got fed up & got it himself. Just bizarre.
