I enjoyed Mamak Vegan Kitchen yesterday for lunch! I can't speak on service or ambiance since I didn't dine in, but I'd like to come in with my husband soon! I got the Shrimp Chow Kway Teow upon seeing YELP reviews. It had a nice spicy kick to it and I found the vegan "shrimp" to be interesting! A bit more sauciness would be nice simply because I'm a "sauce girl," but over all, I really enjoyed what I got! I'm interested in trying more items!

Vegan "Beef" and Broccoli and vegan "Chicken" Vegetable. Yum!!

Wow!! So delicious! A wonderful selection of food...PLUS authentic Indonesian/Malaysian choices with authentic flavors!! It is a comfortable spacious restaurant and the service was amazing. And if you want to speak Indonesian, boleh!! Thank you Invira for being so welcoming. We were on a long trip and our stop at Mamak Vegan re energized us? Terima Kasih!!

Yall this food took me out. When I got home, I had slept for a good few hours. I came here to treat a family member, who is vegan, for their birthday. There is plenty of parking and plenty of seating on the inside. I ordered the curry pies as an appetizer and I ordered the black pepper chicken. The curry pies were sooo good and had just the right amount of heat. The black pepper was delicious and the vegetables were seasoned to perfection. The food was so pretty...almost too good to eat! The meal comes white rice. They do not have brown rice. It's a lot of food so pace yourself. I made the mistake of eating it all and couldn't move afterwards. The service was excellent! She repeatedly checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal and we had water. I will definitely be back!

My vegetarian cousins were visiting from out of town and I suggested this place I had been wanting to try. There is a big parking lot for the handful of shops in the building. The restaurant is bright and airy with light wood tables and soft chairs. When we were there it was a little late in the day, but it was still somewhat busy with takeout and at least four other tables occupied. My cousins have two energetic young children. The staff seated us at a big table and brought a high chair and plastic cups with straws for the kids. The menu is accessed by QR code and there are photos and reviews linked to many dishes there. We ordered several starters: dumplings, satay made with Beyond Meat, and soups. Everything I tried was flavorful. The dumplings were fried and filled with vegetables, served with soy sauce. I tried a potato curry pocket which had some spiciness. My lotus peanut soup had a clear broth with whole peanut and chunks of lotus and mushroom as well as bean sprouts. My entree was a noodle dish called Chow Kway Teow. It had large flat noodles and vegetables with strips of fried tofu in a slightly spicy sauce. I thought it was delicious. I was able to taste some of the sesame tofu, which was big cubes of breaded, fried tofu covered in a syrupy sesame sauce. The tofu was beautifully soft and creamy. Lastly I tried the hibiscus ice tea spritzer. It was iced, not too sweet, and a lovely pink color. The staff were welcoming and efficient. They allowed the rambunctious children to run around a little without looking horrified. They brought extra paper plates and napkins as needed, and kept us all supplied with iced water.

Just want to provide an update that this place is still amazing :) I'm now gluten free and this place is both GF friendly and vegan - what a blessing! This place is good at accommodating family size groups as well as solo diners If you are vegetarian/vegan in ATL you have to go to Mamak!!

After a fun night at pickleball we wanted some good vegan good. My friend recommended MVK. Pro: Ample parking, nice seating area, QR code for menu review (with pictures), good food and decent portion sizes Cons: The staff wasn't very welcoming but very professional. It seemed like every question was asked was an interruption. I preferred the non-processed food over the faux meats. The curry was flavorful and super tasty.

So glad I finally made it here! I'm a happy meat eater, but these vegan dishes were fabulous! I split food with a coworker and we had the roti naan as an appetizer, and the curry laksa and lemak curry for entrees. Everything was delicious! If I had to choose a star, I'd say the Lemak Curry, but honestly you can't go wrong with any. The curry was so flavorful and the tofu was the perfect texture. I came with a group of 8 around 12:15pm on a Friday and we were immediately seated. They also let you pay on your phone so you can select what you ordered which makes group meals so nice and easy. Parking: private shared lot

I'm not into the fake meats but love tofu, eggplants, green beans, ... all the regular veggies ... so that's what I usu. order here. Today I thought I'd try something different. Several reviews raved about the Olive Fried Rice ... I was intrigued b/c I never noticed that menu item before. OLIVE FRIED RICE - $14 Wok-tossed fried rice, olive leaves, carrots, string beans, tofu, ginger, and shiitake mushrooms. Whoa that had to be the best fried rice I'd ever eaten! I loved the wok-fried smoky flavor, it was honestly addicting, ... I had to practice self-control to only eat half so I could make two meals out of the one dish, lol. But it was hard! Everything about this dish was so good. I've tried other dishes but nothing as memorable like this one! The staff are nice here, and the space is always bright and clean feeling. This is usually my go-to place after getting a pedicure next door at Nail Time Spa. I will be back soon for my new favorite dish!

Why did I wait so long?! As a vegan for 9+ years, I'm sad that it took me until the end of 2024 to eat here. I'm guess better late than never. For my first visit, I had the sesame chicken and the kari sayur. Full disclosure, I looked over the menu as well as the reviews many times to see what was popular (which helped me arrive at these two choices). The kari sayur is a veggie and tofu curry. I eat a lot of Thai curries and this was a Malaysian version. It was wonderfully spiced with that same coconut milk creaminess that I love so much. The sesame chicken is mentioned a lot in reviews and rightfully so. I don't really eat "mock meats" but I'm glad I tried this dish. It really reminded me of being a kid and getting the orange chicken at Panda Express. If I have one critique, it's that the glaze was sticky in a strange, almost gelatinous way. It was mildly off-putting, but I still enjoyed the dish and the texture of the "chicken" itself didn't bother me at all. This was my entrée into Malaysian cuisine, and I look forward to trying more! Thanks for making it delicious and vegan.

Love this place! Delicious vegan Asian fusion. You won't miss the real thing. I've been here so many times! I recommend the chicken satay, the green beans are a must, pepper beef, fried rice, chicken lo mein, and the okra. More to try as new items come out. Tofu dishes as well. They're on Uber eats or come to their clean and airy restaurant. Dishes are $8-18.

My fiancé was about to get jaw surgery and be on a liquid diet for a few weeks, so what did we choose as her "last meal" before this diet? We obviously chose Mamak Vegan. This place was the perfect final dinner and was as good as ever. You can't ever go wrong with any menu item at Mamak!

I had the chicken shawarma plate with rice, fries, fresh pita, and tzatziki, and everything was excellent. The chicken was flavorful, the pita tasted fresh, and the portions were generous. The biggest thing that stood out, though, was the service. Patrick at the counter was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. He made the whole experience feel genuine, and that's something you don't always find anymore. He did an outstanding job and definitely left a great impression. I was leaning toward something Mediterranean-ish but also wanted to try somewhere new, which is how I stumbled across Sabaraba's. First things first: parking was pretty convenient! I lucked out and found street parking, but there's also a garage directly next door, so you have another option if street parking isn't available when you arrive. When I walked in, the staff was immediately friendly and welcoming. There's also a good amount of seating inside. I wouldn't necessarily choose it for a huge party, but for solo dining or groups of around 2-4, you'll be perfectly comfortable. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so the young lady at the front was really helpful with recommendations. I also made sure to tell her that I was fresh out of the gym and HUNGRY , so she steered me toward the laffa. I ordered mine with shawarma and added fries on the side. Now... I don't know exactly what they put on those fries, but they were HITTING. It may have been the seasoning, and yes, I was extremely hungry, but I'm also very critical when it comes to fries --so I'm giving them their credit! I also ordered the mango lemonade slushy. Did I need it? Absolutely not. Did it hit the spot? Absolutely YES. It was such a refreshing little treat, especially in this Georgia heat. Overall, this was a great random find! The staff was welcoming, the recommendation was exactly what my post-gym hunger needed, and there's still plenty on the menu I want to explore. I'll definitely be back!

At our visit last week, it was super cold inside so wear layers - there is also seating outside. WOOD FIRE GRILLED SPANISH OCTOPUS - $12.95 So good - my favorite! Comes w/ lemon vinaigrette & oregano leaves served on a bed of quinoa. LAMB SKEWERS - $19.95 My other favorite and I'm not a lamb person either. No gamey taste ... well except for the parts that were on the rare side. Herb marinated rotisserie lamb, hearts of palm, portobello, red onions w/ tzatziki. I would order this again for sure! WILD TROUT - $18.95 This was good too, served w/ tri-color quinoa and cucumber salsa. That wood-fire flavor ... yum! CHILLED WOOD FIRED BEETS - $8.95 This was good but had no wood fire taste at all - so that part was disappointing. Loved all the complementary ingredients - pistachios, mandarin oranges, goat cheese, EVOO. PORK CHOPS & WHITE BEANS - $16.95 Just ok - chops were very thin, well done (we asked for medium), and on the salty side. 48-hr brine, 10-oz chop served on creamy white beans - the beans were good! Overall we enjoyed the food - great spot if you're looking for something in Sandy Springs and the group is game for sharing food. And afterwards we walked a few blocks to The Gelatist for dessert - great stroll when the weather is nice!

Jahjoy pork belly: Tasty & tendor. I loved the papaya salad which left a refreshing contrast. A bit too saucy for me. Flavors were strong. Squid ink bucatini: our favorite! Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor. Red snapper: This has some Vietnamese influences with the sauce. It was a lighter dish which was just OK for me, I would have liked the fish to have a crispier skin. Not much flavor besides the sauce which is inspired by canh chua. Wagyu flank steak: cooked to perfection and flavored well, loved the celery puree which was much tastier than we expected celery to be. Dessert was mint chocolate cake which was very tasty. I wish the cake was softer and meltier in the center but it was still good. Malt gelato was delicious. Could def taste the mintiness. Creme pat along the edges was a nice add to the cake with cacao nibs and popcorn for a textural contrast. I enjoyed it!! Overall we had a great meal and could tell the ingredients were very fresh. The presentation for all the dishes was beautiful!! We can tell the chef puts care in his food :) Appreciated the personal touch - they gave a handwritten card to my husband for his birthday!

It was an easy walk from Hotel Colee and the Lenox Square area, and we lucked out with a beautiful Atlanta evening and a table outside. We shared the Spiced Carrot Cake, and it was delicious. Moist, nicely spiced and topped with a luscious vanilla mascarpone mousse, candied oranges and walnuts. The mascarpone was especially good -- creamy without overwhelming the cake. Exactly what I wanted. We also had an affogato and an Espresso Martini, made with organic vodka, espresso liqueur and organic espresso. Dessert and coffee with a cocktail thrown in for good measure? Yes, please. Service was perfectly adequate -- friendly, easygoing and just what we needed for a casual dessert stop. And our bartender was pretty darn cute, so really, what's not to love? The outdoor seating made it even better. Relaxed, comfortable and a lovely place to linger over something sweet and a cocktail on a beautiful Atlanta evening. I love finding places where you don't necessarily need another full meal. You can simply stop in, sit outside, order dessert and a good drink, and enjoy the evening. Service was good but it is a bit expensive, perhaps not surprising given how it is adjacent to the Lenox mall and this area. True Food is a great option for family's (they have some nice healthy options for a change for kids and a fun little activity placemat) and for vegetarians. I like how they have some less common veggies incorporated into many of their dishes. Our favorite part of the meal were the appetizers. We tried the charred cauliflower (delicious), the assorted veggies with the hummus (pretty good but kind of surprisingly spicy which wasn't as good for the kids), and the edamame dumplings (delicious)! For mains one our kids got a burger and the other had the chicken teriyaki, which were both ok but not great. I think my son was expecting more of the teriyaki flavor. We also shared the grilled salmon with us. We were expecting more fish but it was tasty. It was on the simpler side which worked well for kids. We also tried the spicy panang curry bowl, which we got with chicken, and that was decent.
