Bi bim kook soo

Whenever I buy my dog's food at Heart of Town, I get my Korean food fix at Mama Woo's BBQ. Although people have said they missed the previous management, I think the current owners are doing a great job. Today, I got my favorite cold noodle dish, bi bim kook soon. You get to choose the heat. Mild or medium is usually good for me. I also like to get a plate of just side dishes. In the selection of sides you'll find what you expect to see - cucumber kim chee, cabbage kim chee, seaweed, choy sum, seaweed, broccoli, corn, shoyu potato, etc. But, what is unique here (and what I always get) are the fried eggplant bites and the potato/sweet potato salad. This is really a takeout place. There are table and chairs but it's mostly there for people waiting for their takeout. I don't usually have trouble finding parking in the lot in front. Although it can get busy during meal time because Wagaya shares the lot. Another plus is that the people behind the counter are very helpful and do their best to get orders out.

Mama Woo's offers generously portioned Korean-style plate lunches. Located in the McCully area, this business has both lunch and dinner options. Customer service is always excellent here. You can place a phone order to avoid waiting, though they're always fast! My boyfriend and I appreciate the portions here. Banchan is filled to the brim, making the prices worth it! I usually get full tackling a mini. Only time I was disappointed was with the house special spicy squid. Not much to eat and little flavor. The meat options are good though!

Korean Meatball Jun: ground beef, pork and tofu with Korean spices (shoyu based). Yum!

Solid place to pick up take out Korean food. Service is excellent and genuinely nice (with a lot of humor added in). I think the portions are generous . And you have the option of selecting four different banchan! My go to has been the Korean Meatball Jun (ground beef, pork and tofu with Korean spices). Yum! They are made to order, so the eggy part has a delightful crisp when you bite into it. It's hit or miss with finding an empty stall in the parking lot during lunch hour. Most times I've been lucky though so not an issue.

I ORDERED THE SPECIAL WITH A SIDE ORDER OF MANDOO VIA DOORDASH. Everything was excellent ... good quality all the way around. Kalbi was tender and tasty. Chicken was also tasty. I really can't say anything bad about the order. Will be getting more food from this place in the future.

Yes Saaaahhhhh !!!! This is the place to get A huge Korean plate lunch !! Today I ordered the mama woos plate ($24) which came with four sides, Kal Bi, barbecue, chicken, spicy chicken wing, & beef. Which all were delicious. Service was great, as she welcomed us in, and answered any questions that we had. The restaurant is pretty casual, takeout only. There is street parking, and a limited private lot. Mama's woos is a must try! Follow me on Insta: @noodlesoupr

XL Family Pack

There are only a handful of Korean restaurants that I enjoy going to and Mama Woo's is one of them. It's easy to order since you can do online ordering. Ordered the the XL family pack which comes with Kalbi, meat Jun, mandoo, bbq chicken, bulgogi, spicy pork, rice and 4 choices of vegetables. Also ordered a side of meat Jun and KimChee Stew (you can choose your spice level). Placed the order a day before pick up which is very convenient. The food was ready at the time I had requested. Everything in the family pack was delicious, even the banchan. The kimchee stew was also flavorful. We had lots of leftovers and having good Korean food always hits the spot.

I've passed by Mama Woo's BBQ over the years and always told myself that I have to try them next time I don't know what I want to eat for lunch. Each time I ended up going to have pho lol. It wasn't until I finally put aside my pho cravings to check them out. They are located in the same lot and share the same parking with Wagaya. Mama Woo's BBQ has been around for about 24 years and offers Korean food. The current owner, Charlie and his family, have owned it for about a year. You can dine in or take out. They also offer catering. I called in my order of 1 BBQ Chicken plate and 1 Meat Jun with Kalbi plate. They told me it'll be ready in 10-15 minutes. I arrived and it was ready on time. You get 4 sides with each plate and the meat is laying on a bed of rice. I chose eggplant, potatoes, bean sprouts and cabbage. Their eggplant was surprisingly very good so give it a try! The other plate was 2 orders of broccoli and 2 orders of Chap Chae. Customer service was friendly and I got a chance to learn about their business from Charlie. The food was good and I was stuffed after eating the entire plate. Great option for Korean food in the Moiliili area.

Look at this goodness! Kalbi and Meat Jun plate and Katsu and Meatball plate.

First tried here probably close to 10 years ago and recently returned for the husband's birthday weekend. He wanted Korean takeout that wouldn't break the bank, wasn't too fancy, and was filling and I'm glad we ended up here. The restaurant is located right across from McDonalds and in the same shopping complex as Wagaya on King Street. Easy enough to find parking in the lot or on the street. Service is good and quick which is needed for a takeout small place like this. I got a Kalbi and meat jun plate and the husband got the meatball and the katsu. We both thoroughly enjoyed all of our food and of course shared a little of everything too. The banchans were tasty, there's a huge variety, and portions are pretty plentiful. The fried food was freshly cooked, hot, crispy, and not oily. My husband was so confused why I didn't bring him here sooner but we know it's going to be in our rotation now. Sauces are 25 cents extra if it doesn't come with the plate already and it's worth it. We owe the dude a quarter still so we'll 100% be back! The plates are heavy and easily make two meals each.

SO MUCH FOOD (even after eating half!) excuse the bone lol sorryyyy

Mama Woo's bbq is the BEST restaurant I've visited. I'm Korean-American and this was the best spot with the most generous portions and crazy amazing service. The lady in the front is the sweetest and most hardworking lady!! The food here Is ridiculously good and the huge portions make it that much better. You go in and order a plate and choose 4 sides I recommend the eggplant, japchae, pickled cucumbers, and kimchi and even the cabbage too. I ordered the mama special plate and I was truly blown away and felt as if this was the best bang for the buck. 2 meals basically! I Truly will become a regular here!!!

I was craving to eat Spicy Pork. After going thru a number of options I picked Mama Woo's. Haven't been hear in awhile so I was hoping that the food was still good. YES, the Spicy Pork was delicious. Ordered the mini and was surprised at how big the potion was. You get two choices of banchan. I picked Seaweed and daikon . Both were good. My wife had a mini Meat Chun. With potatoes and Chap Jai as her sides. The restaurant is now carrying out only. The two tables for dine in is against the wall and the chairs setup for waiting. Service was excellent. She even held the door open for me as I exited. Enjoy

While there is a small parking lot and limited street parking, Mama Woo's is a solid spot to head to for Korean food. Located on King Street next to a small array of other businesses, it is visible on the corner from the road. There is some seating inside but it seems to be for waiting for your food. It is mainly waiting space and the counter inside. The counter is straight ahead with a menu behind the counter and a selection of food on the counter to help you pick your sides. We like to get the meat jun, fish jun, and BBQ chicken. Each of these is tasty and consistent each time we order. Some of our favorite sides are the fried eggplant (so good!), shoyu potatoes, japchae, and tteokbokki. While I have seen most of the sides at other Korean spots, I have not really seen fried eggplant before. It is definitely my favorite of the sides. It is thick and tasty with a sort of fried dough and eggplant flavor. Each plate we get is about $18 but the portions are large enough as to where one plate can last multiple meals. It comes out as a deal and it so yummy. Definitely recommend giving Mama Woo's a try!

Mini family set
Kayla T.

Take out system online was so easy to use and quick for the food to be ready we did the mini family set that comes with chicken, kalbi, bulgogi and meat Jun. You can choose from 4 of the side dishes which we went for the cucumber which was watery and okay, daikon which was super sour, wakame which was good, and the bean sprouts which you can't go wrong with! When I went for pick up the service was quick and easy with no other customers inside at around 7pm!

They have free parking in the small lot right outside their restaurant, but there is also paid parking across the street. We were lucky, and people were leaving as we got there. For 7 of us, we got the rabokki, meat jun, half order of bossam, and kimchee pancake. This was more than enough food for everyone, and we probably would have skipped the kimchee pancake next time. The food was really good, and I would definitely recommend the bossam if you're with a group. The meat is super soft and flavorful, and even the half order was a generous portion. We also ordered the lemon soju and yogurt soju pitchers. They have tablets for you to order the food, which was super convenient. The food comes out pretty quickly, and the service is friendly. Overall, would recommend here for good Korean food and fun vibes.

We made reservations ahead of time, and good thing we did because it did get very crowded later in the evening. We ordered through the tablet on the table and did family style where we could share a bunch of dishes. I really liked the kim chee pancake and the Bossam with all the fixings. We ordered extra cabbage on the side. We were seated on a large table on the side of the restaurant so after we got our food, we didn't really see our servers and had to flag them down for more water, etc. They played K-pop/BTS music the whole time we were there, which was great since our birthday girl loves BTS. Overall, the food was good and I would go back to try more items on the menu! Happy Eating!

We were told the waiter was the owner, must be under a new owner and if that's true, his behavior was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend eating somewhere where you're made to feel like an inconvenience. My soon do bu tofu soup was literally thrown onto the table, causing some of it to spilt over on the side. We were not given enough chopsticks, and when we asked for straws because the ones we had broke, his attitude became even worse. He started slamming things around, and when we tried to get his attention, he clearly heard us, laughed, said something under his breath and walked away. Thankfully, the other person working with him came over and helped us. At that point, I couldn't even enjoy my food because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome we felt. I ended up asking for my food to be packed to go. The overall atmosphere felt extremely toxic, rude, and unwelcoming. What made it even more disappointing was that we were there during a time when it wasn't even busy. I will not be returning, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend this place.

Korean BBQ in Waikiki? Hmmm…read more I stumbled upon this place as I was craving KBBQ. I was greeted upon arrival and was sat at my table. This restaurant has four different meat packages; 29.95 Small Selection, $46 Larger Selection, $60 Larger Selection with Sides & $99.99 Wagyu + Everything else. The vibe was similar to Sikdorak, very modern, music playing in the background. If I could rate the meats & banchan altogether, I'd give this restaurant a 4/5 stars as I have eaten better quality/tastier food at the other KBBQ spots. Other than that service was a 5/5 stars because my waitress helped me cook my meats and the staff were very attentive and kind. Check this place out if you are in the heart of waikiki!

It was literally just my friend and I, then another party, but it was DEAD, but somehow I had to be the one looking for our server who happened to be the manager on duty according to our receipt. He even then didn't ask us how we enjoyed the food. I did mention it. And I really felt like a transaction rather than a person. Quality foood for sure though! Portion wise, it was definitely small compared to other AYCE KBBQ spots. I expecially enjoy the toro, brisket, and seasoned chuck roll steak! I believe quality over quantity for sure, but hospitality goes a long way too! With that being said, I may have came on a wrong day, so I would still come back. The restaurant does seem nice and clean, fresh. No bathroom inside the restaurant, you need to go to the second floor of the mall that it's in. Again, service was not it, but food quality was amazing. The sizes, since it's all you can eat, just order double of everything for a normal portion that you think.
