Reliable, Generous, and Hits the Spot Pearl's KBBQ is a solid four stars for me. Reliable food, huge portions, and generous servings of banchan. I can literally get three meals out of one plate. I love BBQ chicken, and theirs always hits the spot. They recently added a spicy BBQ chicken, and I'm all about it. Sometimes you don't need fancy. You just need good food, big portions, and leftovers for days. read more

Everything was so Ono Best Mac salad I've ever had all the veggies compliment, the meat very well you can taste the smokiness of the meat off the grill. My favorite is a spicy pork but when you eat the meat, take a bite of rice and then make Mac salad. It's phenomenal. read more

BBQ pork, beef or chicken - ono! Tasty but sometimes the meat in beef so little, need to order a pair of pork or chicken. Chicken katsu, tasty and crunchy. Their side veggies are excellent! I like their kimchee, cabbage, watercress. They do not give out too much rice, two scoops rice minimum, anything extra you pay for it. Good grinds. Eat variety is good. read more

I love how quick and affordable this was, I wish they had heated up the side dishes before we ate the entire meal. The bbq chicken meat was freshly hot and very tender, galbi was a little hard to chew, bulgolgi was good but the side dishes got cold waiting. I loved how many side dishes options there were with lots of veggie options! Great option I'm glad we found. read more

Hosted a baby shower for my niece who is expecting next month. We asked local friends for recommendations for Korean BBQ and the unanimously recommended Pearl's Korean BBQ!!! We first tried a Meat Jun Plate and it was Onolicious!!! The banchon were delicious and plentiful, however, the star was the Meat Jun!!! Tender, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. So we ordered from the catering menu and the trays were ready on time. At the baby shower, everyone enjoyed the authentic Korean dishes. The meat jun and bbq chicken were delicious. The noodles and fried mandoo awesome!!! The prices are very, very reasonable. The dining room was clean and cool. Definitely recommend for your next party!!! read more

Pearls is one of my hidden secrets on the island, because you of the plate lunches. These are the best plate lunches on the island in my opinion. These portions are absolutely massive and large enough for a couple of people to share or for a few servings. I love the selection of all the vegetables as sides, and all the options for proteins. All and all, you are able to get a pretty well balanced plate lunches here. 100/100 recommend! read more

We grabbed two plates for dinner the other day from Pearl's Korean BBQ and everything hit the spot. I really enjoyed the food here and appreciated how generous they are with the side portions definitely not stingy! I swapped out the rice for another side which was a nice option to have. I got the meat jun, and it was tasty with a good dipping sauce though I do wish they included just one more piece to make it feel a bit more complete. Pearl's is definitely a solid spot when you're craving a satisfying, local style Korean BBQ meal. I'll be back! read more

My family shared the Meat Jun and BBQ Chicken combination plate, and it was super filling for the 3 of us. We're light eaters, but for $20.99, it's a great deal. They give you a generous portion of both meats, 2 scoops of rice, and the option to choose 4 sides, so you get a lot of variety. The BBQ chicken had a flavorful marinade that infused throughout the chicken, and the Meat Jun was especially delicious when paired with the red dipping sauce--it really elevated the flavor. The portions were generous enough to easily feed 2 people or stretch into 2 meals, depending on your appetite. Service was quick! There was no one in line before us, so the food came out fast and hot, which is always a plus. The seating area indoors is spacious, casual, and air-conditioned, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal. Parking is also convenient, with plenty of spaces available in the Don Quijote lot or in the lot across the street. read more

Lots of food given here. We always do the 5 veggies (ask for no rice and cook your own at home). Always have leftovers. I'm going to try their platters for a potluck one of these days! read more

I was here today and picked up a mini kalbi plate. It was pretty good. Instead of rice, I got three sides instead. I got the shoyu potatoes, mayo potatoes and chap chae. The two pieces of kalbi were ok. It had nice flavoring, but had excess cartilage making it hard to chew. The shoyu potatoes were missing that sweet shiny glaze that I'm used to. Some places shallow pan fry the potatoes first before putting it in the sauce. That's how I like mine. Some places just cook the potatoes in the sauce without frying it first. The mayo potatoes were good. It had a strong garlic powder taste, but I liked it. There was no one in line before me, so the food came out super fast. read more

Was at Don Quijote and decided to try this place for lunch. It's a clean place with a big menu. But the low score I give because the lady taking our order was kind of rude to the point we felt she must not like her job. Ordered the bbq chicken and it wasn't fully cooked and was a little chewy. Also got the kalbi, and it was cooked properly and was a big portion. When we asked for soy sauce for the rice, it was like we were asking her to donate blood. She must have been having a bad day. read more

This is a convenient location. I had an appointment nearby and decided to have my lunch here and it turned out good. I have ordered a mini bbq beef plate and they did provide me with enough to fill me up for the day and not too much as I have been eating too much lately. The food was good and the service with also good so this is a good convenient spot when I am near by. read more

I will be honest to say that I'm not a regular at Pearl's Korean BBQ, as I have tendencies to go to Peppa's, or Red Pepper Korean BBQ. The times I do end up going to Pearl's Korean BBQ, I only have positive things to say about this fast food Korean joint. My good friend Chi was flying back to da 808 from Germany, and since I was gonna head to the airport to pick him up, I figured I'd pick him up a plate of food as I know he was flying for over 26 hours, just to get back to da 808. Pearl's Korean BBQ is da place I ended up at, and I am most happy to say that the service here was pleasant, & efficient. Located by the entrance area (just next door) of Don Quijote on Kaheka, you can find this Korean eatery with a much spacious seating area, as well as the standard Korean fast food offerings. While I was there, I picked up a mini Meat Jun plate for my friend, and if you check out my pic, you will clearly see the shear volume of food that they offer for just a "mini". My friend was most gracious & appreciative of the food, and ended up gobbling up da entire plate at 3:00 AM (he texted me at that time - his time zone internal clock must be all screwed up! Lol!). The nice thing about going to Pearl's is not only can you get a hearty plate of food, but if you have some kinda party & wanna cater a tray of Korean grub, this location also does party platters (which I'm pretty sure you must order in advance). Looking for some ono Korean grindages??? Ya gotta check out this Pearl's Korean BBQ just next door from the Don Quijote in Kaheka. read more

Great food and great value. We ordered the Bi Big Kook So, and the Mean Jun + Spicy Chicken plate with a side of Kim Chee. The Meat Jun was our favorite and the beef in the Bi Bim Kook Soo was a close second. The beef was soft and delicious. The spicy chicken was a bit too marinated. The noodles in the Bi Bim Kook Soo were also great. Not too spicy and not overly salt. For sides, we really loved the seaweed. The rest were on par with what we would expect for this type of meal and price. The Mac salad was heavy on mayo. Overall, great value for an easy meal delivered to the house. Would do it again! read more

Pearl's has been one of my favorite Korean BBQ restaurants. Located in the Kaheka/Ala Moana vicinity near my neighborhood, there use to be one in the Makai Market Food Court of Ala Moana Center. I swung by on my way back home and figured pick up some grub. Called in my order and once I was at the counter, it was ready for pick up! These guys know how to cook and serve it right. I know there's a couple dozen other Korean BBQ's around town, but the recipe and ingredients are pretty distinct here. Cash or CC payments accepted, take out or dine-in, boneless/skinless chicken and bulgogi combo was my order, and you can choose your side vegetables for whichever you want. Get either a Mini or Regular Plate! Located street side of Donki Kaheka with plenty of metered street or free ample parking, and it's a quick in and out of the drive way! read more

This place always messes up their takeout orders. I should've known because it's not the first time. The worst part is 3 people after me got their orders first and considering it was meat jun it should've been first. However, the girl who gave out the food looked confused and maybe it's why both my wife and my food order was wrong. What a surprise I had when going home (Waimanalo), to open and see warm macaroni salad, slivers of potato with that mayo, corn and kim chee. My order consisted of all green vegetables. One mistake isn't too bad but both plates?! They should really check their writing and match it with the dang receipts. That means 4 people got wrong orders...argh!!!! read more

Although the food is very good, some of the staff need to be let go I have been going there for many years with my family and over the years. I've noticed this one female employee that is very rude today I've had enough. I just asked for a cup of water And she was very rude as she had been many times before I didn't even think she was working today, which was great whenever I get her she always seems to give me smaller portions then normal and as I go there often I do notice the difference I think I have mentioned that to her in the past and so she might have a grudge today I went with a friend and the food was delicious and the young man that was helping us was very kind and a great employee however, this woman called me a faggots in Filipino as I left she did not think I understood but I did see her her rude attitude and poor customer service needs to be looked at by managers. You should be welcoming and with a smile not just because you work there and you're getting an hourly wage that you can be rude to customers I find this completely unacceptable in the aloha state of which I am a native. I have reported this incident to the company and hope that they take care of this immediately. This is absolutely unacceptable in Hawaii people speak many languages. Be careful what you say, because people understand. Mahalo concern customer read more

Pearl's Kitchen is located right next to the entrance to Don Quijote. The reviews looks pretty solid so I decided to give it a try for dinner on Friday. I came a little before 8 pm and dine-in was already closed. They were only doing takeout orders. I was very indecisive on what to get and ask the cashier what was popular here. She recommended the Pearl's Special ($19.49), which comes with three meats: kalbi, barbecue beef, and grilled chicken, as well as 4 veggies on the side. It was such a good value. For just over twenty bucks, we got a giant platter of food that both my friend and I could not finish in one meal. The kalbi was definitely my favorite meat, and the grilled chicken my second-favorite. My friend and I both thought that the barbecue beef was way too sweet and couldn't finish it. As for the veggie sides, I didn't like the japchae as it was again way too sweet. We both tried a bite, decided we didn't like it, and didn't eat any more of it. The other three veggies I got, the cabbage, the bean sprouts, and the sweet potato, were all delicious though. All in all, we enjoyed the food from here and I would highly recommend giving it a try. read more

Spicy pork: 5 star Mac salad: 1 star I think its my first time here, but the concept is the same as yummys for example. Pick a plate and choose either 2 (mini)or 4 (reg) sides. My bf and I got the mini Spicy pork with seaweed and Mac salad. The Spicy pork was really good, had a nice char to it. Taste was also really good. Seaweed was not bad, but wow the Mac salad was horrible. It was really tangy and a little sour. Not sure if that's how it's suppose to be but we didn't finish it- and we don't like wasting food. Very heavy on the mayo as well. Would be back for the Spicy pork but will definitely choose different sides read more

It's been almost a year and time to update. Their Kalbi is not robust in flavor, but have more selections on sides. I did love the chop chae which was bursting with flavor. I used the gravy on the rice and made up for Kalbi. You can check the photos. My mini plate is about $14.49 and friend's regular around $19.49. The women give more servings compared to the guys. They were helpful and accommodating. It was hot outside with limited seating. That helped us in terms of comfort which made our meal pleasant. Masks are required, social distancing, sanitizing tables, and other tables taped over to provide distancing with tables. Its somewhat awkward, but better than 90 something degrees outside. After awhile, your brain begins to break. Be safe everyone! Ciao! read more

Fast, tasty Korean fare. Ordered via DoorDash and was impressed with the large portions and fresh, yummy marinated meat. Ordered the following: 1x Bi Bim Bap (Entrées) 1x Pearl's Special (Combinations Plates) * Bean Sprouts * Seaweed * Corn * Macaroni Salad * Broccoli 1x Side of Meat Jun (Side Orders) You get a lot of food for each plate. Can definitely be a portion for two people to share. The meat jun is a dish that typically tastes better in the restaurant, but this was decent too.
