Mama Easley's you have captured my heart! Probably my favorite place in OBX, it's located in Tim Buck II in Corolla and is perfect. I will say the layout of the restaurant is a little weird when you walk in there are a couple of chairs and a table with bathrooms off to the side. You need to walk down a corridor to place an order and there to the right of the register is where you can get a drink and to the left of the register is a small bar with a seating area. There are a few more tables inside and there is also outdoor seating that looks over the mini golf course/pond. The first day I was there I split boneless lemon pepper boneless chicken wings with my husband. They were awesome-probably the best I've ever had. I had the shrimp poboy which was out of this world. Flavors and textures of the sandwich were outrageously good. My husband had a burger which he really like, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. He had no complaints and that is why we came back the next day. The next day we tried the fried green tomatoes which I had never had before and wasn't sure what to expect. It had a ton of flavor and was cooked really well, but for me, I tasted something that was similar (or actually was) cheese whiz that really overpowered the dish, it was just too much. I also had the lemon pepper boneless wings again because damn, it's just that good. My husband also had wings, but he had it with the cajun spice which he really seemed to enjoy. The best thing about ME's is that the ingredients are fresh and you can taste it. An absolute must stop in if you are in the area! read more

Overpriced and menu is misleading. Ordered to-go... I spent $16 for a Caesar salad with shrimp thinking it was $9... not $9 extra for 6 shrimp. It came without dressing and with a few flakes of cheese. I ate the shrimp but the rest was inedible. The chowder wasn't bad but the menu didn't have any details so I didn't know what to expect. I do not like fried shrimp and i decided to try it here and it sooo good! The breading is insane! I also had the sweet potato crack...I mean tots..haha...amazing! I'm sure the breaded scallops are just as amazing. The kids had these old bay fries and tenders and didn't complain. We will be stopping here every time we're in town. We were in Corolla over the holidays and tried Mama Easley's as our usual places were closed. We're so glad to have found it! We tried the burger, grilled chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, fish and chips, and calamari. All were excellent -- well seasoned and well cooked. The french fries are amazing! We had one order of sweet potato tots which were also quite tasty. We'll be back in the summer, even when everything else is open! read more

We have come here for years but our experience today was the worst of the worst. The guy behind the counter (pony tail/beard) was extremely rude. The seating policy makes no sense, we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant even though by the time our food was ready there was an empty dining room. The policy was if there were no tables open during the order then you can't have one even if it opens up as patrons leave. Our order was not correct either and there was no comp to adjust for the fact one person didn't get their food until later. We waited for over 45 minutes for poor service and no customer satisfaction. We won't be coming again. read more

Shrimp basket and fish & chips was delicious, breaded just right & not too greasy. They give you a slice of lemon, coleslaw, and a delicious house sauce for the fish and shrimp. Restrooms were clean, kitchen is wide open so you can see all the cooking action. Fountain drinks are free refills. Downfalls: Entrance is confusing, doors have a "closed" sign, you have to walk in and see a sign that says for sale, THEN take a right and see the restaurant towards the end of the hall. Great place to get fried clam strips and fried scallops. The clam strips are the biggest and best tasting I've ever had. The scallops were nice and sweet! The staff is friendly. There aren't a lot of tables but you can get your food to go or eat out on the deck. read more

The fried green tomatoes were an excellent start to our meal! Each item was freshly made with its own unique special seasoning! The scallops, oyster and clams were delicious with just the right amount of batter. Nothing here came out of a freezer bag, it was all made right at the restaurant. This place was a real hidden gem. Outside of the box thinking with a simple menu combine for an excellent food experience. The fried green tomato appetizer was a perfect balance of flavors that hits your taste buds in all the right ways. I had the oyster po boy and the oysters were spot on. Small space and good food. Limited seating and a "raw" service style but when in Rome..........beach style. Walked in and grabbed 4 chairs at the counter, a young Polish Lady, I forget her name, was our server and she was great. Interesting conversation and just nice and friendly. my boyfriend and i came during the summer which was super close to our beach house. it's in a cute little area and it's worth trying if you're in the mood for something quick. i was a little disappointed to see only fried items on the menu and clams were out of stock. they do give you a huge portion though! i did try their specialty fried green tomatoes ... to be honest, i wasn't a fan. i've had some really yummy fried green tomatoes before so maybe my standard was a little too high? overall, not bad if you're looking for quick fried food! read more
