My pup and I stopped by here for lunch recently after hanging out at the nearby dog beach. There was a (very) short wait on a nice Saturday afternoon. We got a large bench table all to ourselves. Parking: Free in the shopping center lot, didn't have a problem finding a spot even though it was busy. Dogs: Allowed on the patio but they don't have a dog-specific menu. There were several other pups there during our visit, all well behaved. They brought her water out with mine, I didn't even have to ask. Service: Great, very friendly, from the host to our server, all were great. Food: I ordered the chips and dip trio. The chips were good, the salsas were okay, but the queso was kind of strange in my opinion. It's cold, which I knew, but between that and just the way everything is chopped in it - not my thing. I also got the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. The sandwich was really good - chicken was juicy and hot - but the fries left a little to be desired. They needed to be hotter and a little crispier - it gave the impression they may have been sitting out for a bit. My pup had grilled chicken - it was a good sized portion and she had 0 complaints, per usual. Drinks: I ordered the Happy Days blonde ale - highly recommend! Malibu Brewing is so Malibu coded, I don't know how else to describe it. People are here for the vibes and beer - I'm sure - but mostly for the salads. Tons and tons of people sipping on beer and eating salads. Ngl, I too ordered a salad. I ordered and enjoyed a delicious Southwest Salad ($16) with grilled chicken ($5). The salad comes with greens, grains, corn, Borracho beans, southwest goddess + cotija. This was the cleanest southwest salad I've ever eaten - it wasn't weighed down by a ton of stuff or dressing. I also love the addition of the grains. It gave the salad a nice texture and made it feel a little more filling. Ten. Will order again. It wasn't all salads and beer for us. The MBC smashburger ($16) was delish as well, though I'd order a salad over the burger. The merch is cute. It's giving Madhappy if it's not already Madhappy. Malibu Brewing is cool. The bread was good but the inside was equivalent to a mediocre pot roast. It was well presented and great customer service but the chips and dip & buffalo wings appetizers were subpar. Nick was outstanding and a great server. From the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel welcome. The location in Malibu is very cozy and a great place to relax and enjoy yourself. The service was amazing. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cool and especially since it is by the beach the environment is just peaceful bliss and tranquility. I loved the smash burger except... (and this is the primary reason why they get four stars instead of five). Why??? Please tell me why you would serve such an amazing burger with a gourmet sesame seed bun and such amazing fries, then absolutely ruin it with slices of fake, Velveta style, Kraft Singles, as something resembling cheese, instead of using real cheese. This is comparable to wearing flip flops with a tuxedo. To be fair I asked after I already got my food and they said they do have real cheese but you have to request an alternative instead of the fake "American Cheese (product)" that it comes with. I will have to go back and try it again with real cheese on a different occasion. To the management team, please remove the fake cheese from your menu altogether or offer that as an alternative for those who prefer it over real cheese instead of making it the default. It's super salty and has a horrible texture that just destroys the essence of what your burger represents. To everyone who is reading this post, please ask for the real cheese so they make that the default, unless you really like this terrible, artery clogging, cancer causing, chemically synthesized fake cheese product. There is a reason why this fake cheese product is banned for human consumption in most other countries including the European Union. If enough people ask for the real cheese, I'm sure they will do away with it altogether to accommodate what their customers want. I for one, am willing to pay a dollar or two more for such a delicious burger if the cost factor is the reason you're not automatically using real cheese as the default option. read more

Didn't even get a chance to eat here because the rude hostess told us it'd be 15 minutes to sit outside. We waited an hour and then people behind us were seated. They then called us in and sat us inside and the manager (maybe she's a manager she is pregnant) argued that we never said we wanted to sit outside. It was such terrible service and energy as they rolled their eyes at us when we were patient and waiting. We decided to go across the way to Kristy's which sat us outside right away with kind service. The food is even better at Kristy's. This tends to be our go-to spot after a weekend of camping nearby. They have a wide selection of beers and their food has always been tasty. They have indoor and patio seating, and the place has a casual-trendy vibe to it. I've tried tried the smash burger as well as their short rib sandwich and loved both. The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth and also large enough to possibly save a portion for a snack later. We also ordered the hot wings to share which were okay but on the dry side. The roasted veggies for the kids were also a bit bland and mushy. The beers were a lot better than I expected for a place I haven't really seen in distribution. And with its location I assume it could get away with just ok. During this visit we were informed that the brewery is opening a second location in calabasas at a former brewery. Opening around spring time. We are excited to hear this as the location will provide a great outdoor location on Kanan road. We just had drinks and fries. As a non beer drinker: I'm glad that they provide a solid local non sweet cider on tap. Please continue to provide non sweet ciders please. Also they offer wine and some basic mix cocktails. Wow, this restaurant stoped using seed oils for frying, they use Zero Acre as their frying oil, a seedless oil which I know is way more money than regular canola oil) So for those looking for a place to eat that stopped using seed oils, you have plenty here, plus they also grill. My favorite dish is the turkey burned ends salad or the grilled fish tacos, and new on the menu are the lamb burgers. I feel the staff is relentlessly on top of their service and everyone working here has a great attitude. Wonderful and modern location just off of the coast highway. It is in the corner of a small mall that I did not see the first time and ended up parking and walking until I found it. Very clean and pleasant craft beer and grill location with many sports TV's. You can sit outside on a deck as well. I did not see any seating facing the beach, but very open and nice. There is bar seating as well. Beer and food are the main draw. Limited wine options and that is about it for alcohol. But I love beer. The tap list was well sorted by types of brew and alcohol ratings, but also included information on awards. I got a flight and my wife had a lemonade. We shared a Mediterranean Board and Catch of Day Tacos, served with chips and salsa. Prepared quickly and served at a good temp, and tasty. The catch of the day was options including salmon and shrimp, and we chose halibut. flour and corn tortilla options. Service was great by staff, our actual server did check on us but would disappear and come back while most of the service was done by others including the host and kitchen staff. Came here while my family was in town and everything was great! The prices are more than reasonable and the drinks were delicious. I got the Hatch Green Chile Lager and I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Definitely recommend that one if you are looking to change it up. I would give this place 4.5 stars if Yelp allowed but since I had to choose to go up .5 or down .5 stars the outstanding service was the deciding factor for 5 stars. The Place- Welcoming with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. I enjoyed sitting outdoors and feeling the nice cool breeze. While it does not have an ocean view you still get the nice weather and the ocean is just across the street. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 10. We weren't able to sit together but we were close enough. Food was amazing. I wasn't expecting much but everything we ordered was good. I would recommend the sweet potato fries over their default chips though, if they have that option. There was a sauce that came with the ahi tuna and it was so good. The ceviche was really good too. It had avocados, tomatoes and cucumbers in there with big chunks of fish. The buffalo wings were amazing bht its hard to mess that up. One of the sauce was ranch and the other blue cheese ( if yall into that) I heard the smash burger tasted like a big Mac. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. We were shopping at Trancas Country Market and decided to get something to eat, Malibu Brewing was highly rated on Yelp so we thought we'd give it a try... and boy oh boy are we glad we did! This is a casual pub, very airy with both indoor and outdoor seating, the indoors is cozy but not cramped, and the outdoor patio is lovely facing the lawn in the market courtyard. There is a bar and table seating, they also offer free WiFi to guests, which was great because the AT&T cellular coverage was nonexistent on this stretch of PCH. The people working here really seem to enjoy it, it felt very friendly, and service was speedy, competent, and sociable. Now for the best part; the food. This place has an amazing menu, and it was very hard to narrow down on something to order. We finally decided to start off with the pretzel bites served with a mustard sauce and warm cheese sauce (think high-end pub cheese), then we got the fish tacos (these come with a choice of fish, we got the COTD which was a white fish, grilled) and the Santa Fe Short rib Sandwich. First off the pretzel bites were INCREDIBLE, fresh, hot, pretzels coated in butter with a slight chili kick, the two sauces were both amazing individually and also when taken together. There were three of us and we almost wished we ordered 2, but in the end I'm glad we didn't because we left STUFFED. For the mains, the short rib sandwich was served with an au jus and had crispy cheese, grilled shallots and onions, and the short rib just melted in your mouth, all this between two pieces of ciabatta bread that was grilled perfectly, it was just divine. The sandwich came with potato chips that seemed almost air fried, they were substantial but not at all oily or greasy, they were amazing, and I recommend using them to finish off the cheese and mustard sauce from the pretzel bites. We got the tacos two ways, one with corn tortillas and the other with flour tortillas with hatch chiles. The cilantro avocado crema is absolutely delicious and compliments the capers and fish beautifully. The tortilla chips were great and the salsa verde that came with them was also delicious. We cleaned our plates and had no room for desert! It was a wonderful lunch with great ambiance, and service, highly recommended! read more

So about to pass these restaurants and I was left to make the executive decision! Even though I'm like not another brewing company I'm so damn glad I said fine let's do this! This place is a Gem! Why there are not more photos of the food and drinks is beyond me! This was damn good food, fun and such a peaceful environment. Jennifer was a wonderful waitress, super attentive knew exactly how much time to give before doubling back I loved that! I also believe the gentleman I saw out of uniform was either owner or manager! And that's always a positive sign something I love to see! I will definitely come back and think twice about judgement on a brew company restaurant!
