Very average BBQ…read more.. I'm a self-admitted BBQ purist, impartial to NC BBQ, but have also had some of the best BBQ in TX (Terry Blacks, Goldees, and Franklin), and this is simply not TX BBQ. The restaurant is situated off the beaten path in the business district, but it's impossible to miss with the huge smoker sitting out front. It's a small restaurant with just a few tables and the ordering situation is a bit wonky (just one small window to order and pickup from). The staff was ultra-friendly and the food came out quick. As for the food, it was just okay... The BBQ itself wasn't bad, but it was definitely precut and kept in warmers (this would give a pit master down in TX a myocardial infarction as this is a huge "no no"); the sides were actually really good though. The total was about $30 for lunch, which to me was a bit high based on the quality of the BBQ. Overall... Not bad, not great, but not certainly TX BBQ.

The small menu of Korean BBQ items was as appealing as the staff was friendly, quickly serving up their signature Bulgogi taco, topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and accompanied by a cup of mango habañero salsa. Yes, please! The beef was tender and rich, with a mild, Korean BBQ flavor. The spices and BBQ sauce were cleverly cooked into the meat rather than sitting atop it, and so the taco itself had a very simple, "clean" appearance -- but the flavor popped as soon as you bit into it. That said, one had to try the salsa, and I really did love the extra smack of sweet heat that it gave. Yes, there are a bunch of KBBQ trucks and stands to be found in the area, but this was some of the best bulgogi I've had -- and if they've also got friendly folks to chat with, then Gochu Gang has to sit near the top of the list. The Roaming Hunger team was relatively apologetic but had limited options to help us because it wasn't their fault. They said they could get another food truck lined up but it was literally twice as much as our originally booked food truck. We were left in a bind and almost did not have food for the 60 people coming to the event.

Roaming Hunger does have a roster of decent food truck vendors. And I actually had good experiences with the three food trucks who worked my events. However, Roaming Hunger as the middle man--leaves the customer roaming-around-in-their-heads, wondering if they're actually going to get what they paid for? The wrapping was so lazy, they could not be bothered to wrap the ends of the burrito, it spilled from both ends. The fish was ok, but the ratio of fish to rice was disappointing. I saw some "streaks" of avocado, if you call it that. Finally, they should not call this a sushi burrito, because the rice does not have any making of a sushi rice, its just plain rice. Cold and hard rice, very disappointing. I regret giving this place another chance, 10/10 would not recommend.

They also do not allow pets in their establishment since this is a food truck. Parking: This is a food truck so it roams around the city of LA. There is no parking lot. Just park on the street where this food truck is. Food: I ordered a beef, chicken, and pork taco. So fricken bomb and spicy! The taco shells are soft and warm. The sauce for the tacos are hella delicious. Staff: The staff here is very nice, friendly, and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
