I recently had the pleasure of working with Malco Electric, and I must say, the experience was exceptional! They were communicative, and informative and came to my place within an hour. Austin and Dave were the electricians and came in with great energy and were professional and very friendly. They replaced my circuit breakers, which were absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, they demonstrated unmatched professionalism, expertise, and friendliness that made the entire process smooth and stress-free. First and foremost, their punctuality was remarkable. They arrived right on time, ready to tackle the job with enthusiasm. Upon arrival, they took the time to explain the entire process, ensuring I understood every step of the way. Their attention to detail was impressive, and it was evident that they truly cared about providing the best service possible. Throughout the installation, Austin and Dave were efficient and meticulous. They worked seamlessly together, and it was evident that they were a well-coordinated team. The circuit breaker replacement was completed with such precision that I felt completely confident in their workmanship. Aside from their technical expertise, Austin and Dave were also incredibly friendly, entertaining, and personable. They maintained a positive and courteous attitude throughout the entire project, making me feel comfortable asking any questions I had. Their genuine care for customer satisfaction was evident, and it made the entire experience even more enjoyable. In addition to their outstanding work on my circuit breakers, they also left the workspace clean and tidy, showing respect for my home. It's rare to find professionals who not only excel in their craft but also take pride in leaving a space better than they found it. In conclusion, I recommend Malco Electric and their team, especially Austin and Dave. They went above and beyond in every aspect of the job, and the results speak for themselves. If you need any electrical services, don't hesitate to call Malco Electric; you won't be disappointed! Thank you, Austin and Dave, for your exceptional service and for making my circuit breaker replacement experience so pleasant. You've earned my highest praise and gratitude. Regenerate read more

David and Austin were both professional and friendly. They didn't mind that I wanted to be educated on what was going on and what the problem was. They offered several choices for me, and there was no pressure to choose the expensive fix. They didn't try to upsell anything that was not part of what I had called about. My AC breaker had been tripping any time the AC kicked on. David and Austin immediately were able to diagnose the problem as an undersized breaker (my AC was a new and larger unit, minimum ampacity 28 amps, my breaker was a 20 amp two pole). They didn't have the ideal 35 amp breaker, so they installed a 30 and will be coming back to our in the 35 at no additional cost to me. That way my breaker won't trip as often until the correct part is available. They even made sure that they didn't linger (I'm pretty chatty, so it does happen) and kept the whole call just under one hour, keeping everything at about $300 total for me. Considering the last company I asked said the fix was a whole new panel and an unnecessary generator hookup (I don't Even have a generator!) at $12,000, I'm more than happy I gave Malco a call I'm not attaching any photos because you wouldn't know the difference before and after, it was literally just a replacement breaker with a higher capacity. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. They are amazing. Every person I have been in contact with or have had come to my home is very professional and courteous. I have hired them for three different jobs in the last year. The first one was to install a European wiring light which they did a wonderful job. Next, they installed a chandelier in the dining room which turned out very nice. This third time, it has been an ongoing project with lighting and fan installation on our patio. We have had to coordinate with other contractors to do other parts of the work before the actual fan could be installed, and everyone at Malco has been so patient (especially Chris!) while the other contractors did their piece of the work and then came back out to finish out the job. Part of this last project was also installing an electric box so we can hang a TV outside. It took some creative thinking because we have flat roofing, but they made it work! Same with some additional lighting on the patio with these flat roofs, but all is well. I highly recommend this company and will continue using them in the future. -Julie Munoz read more

I needed some electrical work done - I required a ceiling fan installation in a small upstairs den area. This area has two existing ceiling lights but both are too close to the wall. I.e., I needed a ceiling fan mounted in the center of the room and a power line strung to it from the attic. I didn't know whom to get so I called my regular plumber and asked if he could recommend someone and he recommended Malco Electric. One of the best phone calls I've ever made. Randy Mallory, the owner, is just plain friendly and easy to work with. The worker who actually did the installation, Jeff Connally, besides also being very friendly and polite was extremely knowledgeable. He made suggestions to my wife and me as to the size and make of the fan to buy. He also made some installation suggestions to which we agreed . The entire job took only 3 hours and this included Jeff doing a thorough clean-up. I HIGHLY recommend Malco Electric! read more

The porch light & kitchen light were not working. I called Malco Electric talked with Cody received an appointment for the 7th of July however, they have a floater list I was placed on( floater list is :if they finished a earlier job then you move up on the list & perhaps they can do your service call sooner). Well, I received a call that same day Andrew & Steve arrived, they replaced a florescent ceiling light in the kitchen with 2 Led strips using the same fluorescent light fixture. It seems the reason why the porch lights kept blowing out was I was tightening them in too much.! I asked questions about under cabinet led lights & Andrew answered all my question. Andrew & Steve are professional, knowledgeable electricians & the work was done quickly. Thank you Malco Electric & especially Andrew & Steve. When I find the led lights for my cabinets I will call on Malco Electric to do the install. Thank you so much! read more

In late August, 2021, a tree in my backyard was struck by lightning. It broke in half, knocked out all of the power lines and fell into my swimming pool. Of course, this was on a Saturday evening. A neighbor referred me to an electrician, and a crew from Malco, headed by Randy Dominguez, was at my house by 7:30 Monday morning. The fuse box was totally destroyed along with some appliances; everything was out. The Malco group worked diligently to restore power, and, by Tuesday, I was able to stay in my house. They came back later to install a new oven when it arrived. They cleaned up any mess that they created. They were polite, kind and explained everything to me. I was so impressed and delighted by their expertise and efficiency. I will call them whenever I need any electrical work Janet S. read more

I had an issue with light switches that abruptly stopped working. It wasn't caused by loose wires nor breakers being tripped. I contacted a few electricians and Malco was one of two that actually answered the first time that I called. Cody came out and immediately went to work accessing the problem. He was very courteous and didn't discourage me from watching over his shoulder so that I could see what was going on. He worked quickly but did not rush. The culprit turned out to be a bad sub panel and as he worked to get it addressed he answered all of my questions and explained to me things that I could look for in the future. Hopefully I will not have anymore electrical issues going forward but in case I do then my first call will be to Malco and I will request Cody. read more

I was in a fix on a Friday afternoon to have some electrical lines moved by next day, so I searched online and found great reviews for Malco. When I called, I spoke to Greg, who I believe is the owner, and he couldn't have been more polite and straightforward about my predicament. He said that I would pay more for electrical work on a Saturday, but he would have somebody out next morning. Next thing I knew, he had Josh headed my way the very same day! Josh did a fantastic job, exactly what I had wanted. Since my house is an old fixer-upper, I intend to get with Malco again as I start to do more renovative electrical projects around the place. This was about as good of service as I have ever experienced with any contractor, so I highly recommend Malco. read more

If you want local, professional, & problem fixers who do business the way a true Austinite would - with a genuine smile, extensive knowledge, and good will - contact Malco Electric. We had a complex problem with a simple fix. Shari, who will answer the phone, was awesome! Rather than being part of a "system" and channeled into service nightmare like other companies do, she connected us directly with Greg who she felt could diagnose the issue quickly over the phone. Greg began troubleshooting immediately when we spoke. They did come out and the issue was fixed within minutes. End to end, it took about an hour. We are so thankful that we found some real Austinites! We have found our electrician and will be giving them all our business going forward. read more

I am VERY happy with Malco Electric! I called them soon after they opened at 7 a.m. with a list of things I wanted done at my house. Within 90 minutes, 2 technicians were at my house already and started working on everything. Chris and Javier were entirely professional and conscientious as they worked. Chris took the time to explain what he was doing and why. While I know my repairs/installs are probably not the most challenging, they made me feel like I was their best and most important customer. They finished all of the work, cleaned up afterwards, and made sure I was entirely satisfied with everything. I will contact them in the future and would highly recommend them for any electrical work. read more

I love everything about this company. From the owner, crew, to the receptionist. The are so helpful, sincere, and overall treat you like family. Barry was my main contact and he has a great bedside manner. He explained the issue we were having in a helpful & insightful way (where techs from other companies, who I won't name, talk down to you, or get too technical). Malco is the only electrical company we'll use going forward and plan on having them back to install new lighting throughout the house. In my opinion, this was a great example of how a company can show great stewardship with a small issue, treat you like family, and in turn earn repeat business for life. Thank you Malco! read more

I had what I thought was a circuit breaker out. I called and the dispatcher said they were full but would call me if there was any chance they could come out today. Not only did she find a break in the schedule, the technician was super nice. He was very good. He found it wasn't a circuit breaker but a ground wire that was loose. It's time and material but super reasonable and no extra charge for coming out the same day (one company wanted to charge $200 just to show up with a minimum hourly charge before even looking at anything. The technician and the dispatcher were both awesome, professional and super easy to work with. read more

Our main power failed at the meter and the Malco team jumped into action. I called them at closing and they called in some favors and found the parts and had us back up fast saving our refrigerated inventory and keeping our small business open. We appreciate the knowledge, professionalism and responsiveness when working with their team. Jimmie has been a hero a few times for us. Once when our power cable was cut by vandalism wanting to steal the wire. Had us back up that day fast as well and taught me what I needed to buy should it happen again. Highly recommend them. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to say how much I appreciate Malco Electric. I was having trouble with a large appliance that wasn't working, and the manufacturer claimed that the problem was a power issue at my home. Jimmie and his colleague came out and tested everything, double checked, and found that there was no power problem. They didn't charge me anything because there wasn't anything to fix. How many companies operate that way these days? I will definitely use Malco in the future any time I need an electrician, and I highly recommend them. read more

I would recommend Malco to every one of my family and friends. From my initial interaction with Shari on the phone to working with Jimmie and Greg on resolving my "almost complete" DIY project (complete with a blown breaker and a jam packed junction box) - my entire experience was incredible. Malco, a family owned and operated business, is run with that level of pride and integrity and a genuine approach to taking care of customers/Austinites over and above all else. With so many options to chose from, I am so thankful I was able to meet and work with Malco. read more

We recently purchased a home in spicewood and was having trouble with breakers being thrown. Jimmy from Malco responded quickly to my call and they were at our house within a few hours of calling. They even called out Pedernales Electric to help them determine why my breakers were being thrown. Jimmy explained everything he did very patiently to me and told me to call if anything else happened and they would come right away. I am very impressed with this company and the way they treat customers! I will definitely put Jimmy and Malco on my speed dial! read more

This company is the best! Malco Elec. installed several plugs and switches in a party barn as well as installed a huge ceiling fan and three lights for the area. This is the 2nd time I've needed their help and both times everything went very smoothly and was done with the utmost in professionalism. Chris even went to the store in north Austin on his way home to pick up the ceiling fan for me when there was a mistake in the delivery! Otherwise I would have had to call them back out to install the fan another day. I'll definitely hire them again. read more

Tried to get an appointment for someone to help with an electrical inspection and was transferred to Jimmy who was extremely disrespectful about a simple request. Laughed at my request to see if there was any availability to help with a short notice issue and then mocked me for wanting him to come out at all. We do lots of business with electricians and this was my first call out to this company because of a short notice problem. Will not be calling or referring anyone here. Thanks Jimmy! read more

The whole staff at Malco is wonderful! I had a chirping smoke alarm that I could not resolve with company coming in two days. The scheduler was able to find one of their electricians who was willing to come at the end of his long day Josh came the next day and was persistent about finding and resolving my problem. I am so grateful for his patience in listening to me describe the problem and for taking the time to get to the solution. He was great! She was great! Life is good again. read more
