Malbec market is a low key delicious place to get take out. Delicious potato leek soup. They saver the day when I wasn't feeling well.

Had an absolutely lovely Christmas Eve dinner here last night. It was a last minute reservation and I frankly thought I had booked the Pasadena location, but this is a very different vibe - smaller with a market/takeout counter and several tables. Between the three of us we ordered several dishes including the Parrillada wood-fired aged meats selection including short ribs, filet mingon, skirt steak and two kinds of chorizo - highly recommended! The empanadas and tortilla de papas were enjoyed as were the papas provencal, the espinaca salad, the mixto salad and the Argentinian flán. We feasted with plenty of leftovers! Service was lovely and attentive. read more

Whoa, I'm impressed with Malbec Argentinian. I had a pretty awesome steak and gorgonzola sandwich, a side salad, and a couple legit empenadas (a spinach/cheese one and a beef one). The steak was piled high and just so tender. The Gorgonzola was a great balance to give a good creamy funk to it. It was darn near sandwich perfection, and I have craving it again ever since. The side salad was fresh and had lots of veg. The empanadas were fresh dough goodness, with both fillings delightful. I think I would get the spinach and cheese one again. I can't wait to try more stuff. read more

The only other Argentine Steakhouse I've been to in LA was Lala's Argentine in Studio City. Malbec is of comparable quality. All foods were tasty and fresh. Their standout items here were the steak entrana, which is a must get. It's some of the best skirt steak I've had in a restaurant. The chorizo platter was also good, especially if you love sausages, then this is the one to get. The empanadas were also a homerun, as I was able to try both the spinach and beef empanadas. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you are in Eagle Rock. It's great food. The parking here is plentiful on the street, and the ambience in here is great. Great service too. I'm only rating Malbec Market based on 2 desserts: the flan and the chocolate mousse. And both were outstanding! The flan was incredibly creamy and the caramel sauce had the perfect sweetness and density. I've found that flan can be too watery or have a burnt sort of taste to the caramel sauce but Malbec's was nothing like that. It is one of the best slices of flan I've had. Definitely try it! The chocolate mousse was incredibly rich and decadent. If you are craving chocolate this will surely satisfy! Each spoonful contained layers of dark chocolate silky mousse, moist cake on the bottom, and crunchy cocoa nibs on the side. Superb. A small ding for the cashier/server not being very welcoming, since he was preoccupied taking orders and answering the phone as we ordered, we weren't even greeted or thanked, but as I was taking the desserts to go, I'm pretty hopeful that if I dine in, the service will be much better. But even if it isn't, I'm still looking forward to trying those delicious looking Argentinian Empanadas and sandwiches! read more

Came here on a Wednesday night for a quick dinner and was so impressed! The food was amazing and also such a good amount of food for the price. The short rib was very flavorful and juicy, slightly over cooked but still really tasty. The gnocchi plate was huge and also really good. We also order 2 glasses of a Malbec. They have a healthy wine selection to pair with the dishes they have available! This is also a market so you can buy meats and cheese to bring home! Will definitely be back! read more

This is by far my favorite steak sandwich eaterie (sorry Urban Plates) but this is so much better! I used to come here to eat and enjoy inside ambiance. Always quiet with both flat screen TVs on. They used to have sides on display but now, there are only desserts that look amazing. Bc of Covid-19, no inside eating is allowed, but you can still come here for outside dining. They installed an awning and it looks great! I was able to enjoy a cold hard cider in the shade, on hot Saturday afternoon. Sipping and taking in the lovely surroundings of Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock. Great news, the steak sandwich now comes with a side salad. Couldn't ask for more. Always great customer service. Really wanted to give a 5-star review, but this is really no excuse. Came here during the Dine LA week. Ordered from the Dine LA menu, which clearly stated $25 for a 3-course lunch. However, when the bill arrived, I was told the dessert cost extra $7!!! The menu was printed in black and white. Plus the server never mentioned anything about charging extra for dessert. My husband is from Argentina and we've spent a lot of time there. Needless to say, we are familiar with Argentinian cuisine and recognize what it should taste like. We were looking for a place to go as a substitute for our old stand-by, Gardel, in West Hollywood. Sadly, Malbec Market was a huge disappointment. The provoleta lacked taste and was so overcooked it stuck to the pan; the fish wasn't fresh and everything was cooked with far too much (cheap) oil. We walk past this establishment on our daily walk & happy that they always seem to have customers. So we tried them today for lunch . No, they didn't disappoint! The pasta dish with black ink noodles with seafood was simply delicious, the salad fresh & tasty & even had their bread pudding was a satisfying dessert. Not their fault tho, the only fly in the ointment was the presence of this community's "homeless" individuals who walk to and fro, some offensively smell who could distract you from a pleasant dining experience . No idea how this can be managed since it's a free sidewalk the public has an access to but it's the only concern I see. One of my favorite places to eat solo, funnily enough. Food is great and it's nice sitting outside at the front in the cute area they set aside. Foods wise, I've never had a bad meal with anything I tried- steak, chicken, empanadas, all of the desserts, though as a neapolitan DOC pizza snob I wouldn't order one of these here again. Not that they're bad they're just more of a flatbread. That said, again, food is really good across the board. Try a sangria if it's hot out, they're made well. A major shout-out for the service - it was exceptional. Probably the best service I've received in a LA restaurant, ever. The bread and dipping sauce was so good, as were the empanadas. Nice market. They have delicious empanadas: chicken, beef, spinach and cheese. Their service is quick. You can also get ready made dishes: steak, chicken, salads, and vegetables. Some desserts are OK. There are bread pudding, tiramisu, and other good stuff. You can also buy meat at their refrigerated section. I've been here at least a dozen times. One time I got some dessert and there was mold, and I threw it away. I come here for the empanadas. read more

Just got back from vacation in Argentina with my girlfriend who's from there and thought we would give this place a try!! Walked in girl at the counter very rude!! Waitress was nice she was from Argentina and was trying her best! My girlfriends order was wrong and had to send it back! $70 for 2 entrana meats! We asked the manager for a refill and she ignored us then told the waitress!! Then again we asked the manager for the check and she rolled her eyes at us and to the waitress!! The manager then says Iam gonna be in the office don't anyone bother me and slams the door!! We will never come back to this restaurant because of the women manager she doesn't care about the customers at all so sad that she was so rude I feel bad for tue staff at this place!! I really enjoyed the meal I had at Malbec Market the other day. Everything was way above my expectations. The Cream of burrata cheese with roasted beets & pears + fried capers + pesto + toasted almonds appetizer.... That was freaking amazing. So so delicious. The Cosecha Salad is divine! The roasted beets and pears were absolutely delicious with the combined cheese walnuts and dressing. I am dreaming of this salad. Must have it again! My friend got steak and veggies with mashed potatoes which did not disappoint. The meat was cooked perfectly. Moist tender and perfectly marinated. Also had to get the garlic parsley fries. Perfection. The service was great. Ambiance was great. Even though it's on a busy street with traffic going by, sitting outside was pleasant. The one thing that I did not expect was the music. I felt it didn't go with the ambiance, though I do enjoy that kind of dance music. I would of enjoyed jazz much better or some bass nova. Perhaps something more calm. But I understand why they might of chosen the music, to keep the atmosphere upbeat and not sleepy. The minimal staff were more than capable or taking care of multiple parties. I admired the chef, how fast they worked. I noticed as I went in to use the loo. Places like this used to be more common, well oiled machines, excellence and pride in the creations. I miss the feeling of a good restaurant. This place gave me that good good feeling. Inside is also beautiful. Just very impressed with the whole experience. I can not wait to go back. My son and I went to Malbecs for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and their food was superb. We ordered the clams for starters and they were delicious. We are a fan! But don't tell anyone, they may revoke my husband's Chilean card. On our way to Trader Joe's we walked by Malbec Argentinean Cuisine. We felt like having a snack and drink before getting our grocery shopping on, so we stopped by. They had plenty of outdoor seating, both in the shade and in the sun. We had some delicious wine, and shared a Tabla de Chorizos where we tasted some Argentinian chorizo, red Argentinian chorizo (my fave of the 3!), and the thin parrillera sausage. It's served with some delicious baguette, salsa criolla, and chimichurri. Paired with the cab, it was absolutely divine. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in eagle rock. Their salads are amazing! You build your own salad and you get a mountain of food in your plate. Now the two best things about Malbec are: 1- empanadas, omg!!! So delicious. My favorite is the spicy beef. But all of the options are fantastic. This is the place to go to for authentic Argentinian food in this town. The service might be a bit slow, but the staff is super friendly. On weekends, parking could be a challenge, but you'll definitely find a spot.
