Did not see my server after receiving my meal so no refills and had to ask someone else for the check. I visited Makers Union at the Arlington location and had zero complaints. The food was soooo good and reasonably priced. My friend and I chose the unlimited brunch option for $32. There was a lot of food that we obviously couldn't finish so they allowed us to take our food to go, which I thought was nice because most places that have buffet or unlimited food options don't allow that. Our server was Ashlyn, and she was very professional, kind, and attentive. I will definitely return to try their lunch and dinner menu. read more

Avoid like the plague. A restaurant has 3 components Atmosphere, Service and Food. They fail all 3. Music is very loud for a dinner restaurant felt like a club. Food was so so Ribeye was ok Prime rib dip was tasteless and had been sitting around. Service was BRUTAL.. "Ash" was slow inattentive and uncompassionate. In an hour we saw her 2x I actually had to go to her to get her to bring check. Never checked to see how the food was not that I blame her because it was awful. Then after not receiving a small tip she went right to her manager and complained about us. Only bright spot was the manager Tony who was very willing to comp which we didn't take because that wasn't our intent. We live in the neighborhood and we will never go back. I see the glowing reviews on here and they must be tourist because this place does not meet the DC standard. read more

I'm giving 5 stars because the staff are attentive, happy and very accommodating! Porsche was so sweet and brought everything out quickly! She made sure we had water, drinks, and food. The restaurant itself and the patio are beautiful. The food however, needs a little work. We went for brunch and the cappuccino tasted off. The French toast was delicious but a little much, by that I mean I felt like the Frosted Flake crust kept the toast from cooking thoroughly because it was a little gooey. I also had to ask for more syrup, I think it'd be better if it just came on the side anyway. The Maryland crab eggs Benedict my husband got was a little dry and we should have asked for more hollandaise sauce. I would go back but I'd probably try something else! read more

This is a fun place with lots of energy. If you are looking for a happy hour, a place with a group of friends to enjoy or solo to sit at the bar and watch a game, you will have a great time. When the weather broke, the walls opened and flowed to outdoor dining. Went with a friend and ordered the grilled ribeye - and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I asked if they can sauté onions and jalapeños for my steak and they did not disappoint! The steak was flavorful, greens and baked potato on the side. this place is so nice, i love the color of the booths but the food was even better. i came for the happy hour and the deals are pretty good. i got the nachos with chicken and the best part were the fresno and jalapeño peppers (they actually had a nice kick to them-- most places are rather mild but these were actually flavorful) i also got the shrimp fettuccine alfredo, and it was absolutely delicious, plus the garlic bread was grilled to perfection. i also ordered the lemon drop martini and it's one of the best lemon drop's i've ever had. it was the perfect balance between sweet and tart. the service was great as well, i was helped out by Erica and Miguel and they were great conversationalists (you can tell they're experienced bartenders) they made great recommendations, and were very attentive. 10/10 recommend and 100% would come back read more

We went twice in two days for lunch and had a wonderful experience, mostly due to the fantastic service by Lindsey. He was absolutely great! There was a minor issue on our first visit and Lindsey was assigned to our table and took care of us. The food was delicious and and when we returned the second day for lunch, we got Lindsey once again and were thrilled to see him as he was friendly, efficient, and just a terrific server. One of the loudest restaurants I have ever been in. Came here for dinner last night with a client. The hostess greeted us and seated us right away at around 730PM on a Wednesday. One of our menus was soaked with water inside the liner and we waited at least 5 mins before being greeted by our server (in all fairness, it may have only seemed like 5 mins because of the noise) He had the poke bowl (which was served on a plate) and a large soda. Our server brought 2 pints of soda and when he mentioned he'd only ordered one, she replied that he ordered a large. Did she not want to have to come back? The second glass was flat by the time he got to it. I had the fried chicken sandwich and a glass of white wine. I don't understand why restaurants insist on using brioche rolls for hot sandwiches. The roll disintegrated 2 bites in, the sandwich completely fell apart, and I had to use my fork to eat the rest. Side of fries was really small...served in a basket that was mostly filled with the liner paper and the fries appeared to be the last of the batch. Just small bits and pieces. I think there were 2 or 3 full sized fries in the whole order. I don't recall if the server checked on us after the runner brought our food, but our table was never bussed, our plates sat dirty, and we had to flag down the hostess to ask for our check. Really disappointing all the way around. Was it terrible? No. Was it good? Not really. Certainly not enough to want to come back. With the arrival of Amazon HQ2, there's a lot of money to be spent in National Landing and PLENTY of dining options. Do better. read more

Welcome to the neighborhood! We have been wanting to try this new addition to the Amazon HQ2 complex. The atmosphere is airy and open, with 2 walls of glass, high ceilings and a good sized bar in the middle. Like many other reviewers noted, with all the hard surfaces the volume can get amped up. They probably could use some sort of sound dampening in the big blank wall over the open kitchen. It looks like the entire window wall can open up to the patio where they have created a nice sense of place. Looking forward to sitting outside when it's not 20 degrees out! Service was attentive from the host to the server. We enjoyed their restaurant week offering. The nacho serving was huge and they were tasty. The Nashville hot chickens were 2 tenders. Tasty but not up to our Hangry Joes benchmark. The crispy Brussels were a decent sized portion and on par with most restaurant offerings. Lunch entrees included the seafood Diablo: 4 mussels, several shrimp and a mound of pasta. Tasty, but we all joked it was not Diablo, many at best mono-able, but really there was "no ablo" there wasn't even a hint of fire. Probably just Better to have been called pasta with seafood. The impossible kebab was a surprising hit and a decent sized portion. Dessert options included tiramisu or bread pudding . Both were adequate but not show stoppers . All in all a nice place we look forward to returning to so we can try other menu options. If they have happy hour specials in the spring we'd walk over and give it a go. It felt like this place was established longer than it has been here and that an experienced grown-up was running the joint- unlike so many other entries lately. We wish them well! I'd heard some positive buzz about this spot and was in the area after a show at the Folger Shakespeare Theater. So I decided to stop by and see for myself. Glad I did. I was greeted by the floor manager / host after I stepped inside to take in the indoor/outdoor layout. I decided to take a seat at the island bar surrounded by tables and chairs. The bar tenders and support staff were attentive, taking my order and checking on me. Even had a couple of which chats to get the history of the spot and info about their happy hour crowds during the week. So far so good. I ordered the Brussels sprouts I'd heard about. They were delicious and I eagerly ate the whole bowl probably sized for two. I didn't see the crab cake sandwich on the menu like the picture I saw online but per another recommendation set out to order the chicken sandwich. Well, there was a mixup and the bar tender ordered the chicken fingers instead. When they arrived I was actually glad for the change having already eaten half the Brussels sprouts. Fingers were just ok but a good match with the sprouts. Their house Malbec was good but the finish was the hyped tiramisu. It was delicious. So the Brussels sprouts and tiramisu are definitely going to see me again. However, the fantastic recorded house music included Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, and Midnight Rider by the Allman Brothers!
