I just moved to the area and visited this shop a couple times and always felt extremely welcomed. Amazing customer service the dark haired girl short hair, complete drawing a blank on her name, she is an absolute sweetheart. So knowledgable in all the products plus gave me some amazing tips. Yesterday I had bought some sage and a vintage long sleeve gift for my friend. Really unique items they have a bunch of amazing candles, soaps, deoderant that are all natural made here in long beach. I love the vibe, music, cool records, sunglasses, books, jewelry, and smell. So close to my house I will be coming back much more. And my birthday is tomorrow I got a free candle! I love this store! Make Collectives is not your average vintage boutique. In addition to awesome vintage items, they feature natural soy candles, cool repurposed items, and one of a kind jewelry. They also carry cute stationary and recently added a new clothing line with a vintage feel. The owners are great people too! I would highly recommend you visit! read more

I typically don't shop at vintage stores but Make Collectives has something for just about everyone. The clothing items are hit or miss, depending on your style, but there are definitely some cool and unique pieces. The furniture - lots of midcentury modern - is moderately priced and the pieces are well chosen. The hidden gems are the purses and bags - they occasionally have vintage gucci purses in addition to really amazing, funky handbags and luggage-type bags. The owners Kat & Matt are super sweet and they seem to have a great eye for unique vintage items. I love stopping by to see what new items have arrived! read more

I have lived in Long Beach for a few years now and have always visited/browsed the various vintage furniture and clothing shops it offers, but having been underwhelmed always opted to actually purchase from thrift stores or craigslist. I heard about Make Collectives on Facebook and went in to check out a coffee table. I was so happy to find a well curated and reasonably priced shop with down to earth and unpretentious owners. My boyfriend and I love our new coffee table and since we found out they go out and hunt for treasures weekly we know we will be back to accumulate things for our new apartment! read more

LOVELOVE LOVE this shop! Fun to ramble through. Unique treasures throughout the store. My favorite part is their vinyl collection. I have a hard time not buy multiple records whenever I pop in. Plus they've helped me when I've been in search of specific albums, giving me a call when they've got them in the shop. How great is that?! The owners are very sweet and have great taste in music. Make has so many unique goodies! I love the record selection, jewelry and other goods. They have events sometimes. I really want to check one out. Love this store!!! We are long beach residents and frequent vintage shops often. Rarely do we find such a gem as this one. We immediately fell in love with the vintage record player which now sits in our living room/music room. The owners were kind enough to put some vinyl on which they happen to have a great collection of for sale, to let us hear it. It is from the 1930s and is perfect in our home. The clothing, shoes, accessories and all high quality and any item in their lovely store is a perfect addition to your home or closet. We are looking forward to going back very soon!!! read more

I discovered Make Collectives on Instagram about 2 weeks ago. I was searching for vintage, one of a kind pieces for our apartment. I came across a post on their IG of a custom-made industrial desk, and immediately loved it. We had been searching for a dinner table for a few months. We wanted that whole industrial rustic vibe. We inquired about a custom made table, and heard back from Matt that same day. All communication was through email, which was very convenient for us. We commissioned our piece on Wednesday, and our brand new, custom made table was delivered on Saturday. We can't believe how beautiful our dinner table is, it's more than what we could have hoped for. When we thought we wouldn't be able to afford our piece, Make Collectives worked with us to figure it out. Matt went the extra mile and made our table with quality materials, and excellent craftsmanship, he really is skilled in his trade. A picture of our table doesn't do it any justice, buy I hope Matt and Kat took one anyway to hang on their wall bc this truly is a work of art!!!!! We really hope to commission more pieces from Make Collectives. This was the best experience we have ever had with any retail store. Our new table brings our whole place together, and it's finally starting to feel like OUR home. Matt & Kat, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! It really is THAT great. read more

I just moved to Long Beach, and this store is by far my favorite local find. The owners are so nice and there's a great selection of vinyl, retro furniture (just picked up an awesome storage piece) and my girlfriend's in love with all their clothing. This store is so great. Everytime I go in I find something I want. Its a great mix of quality vintage items and local fashionista creations and craft artisans. I did a good bit of my holiday shopping here and found something for everyone in my life and they offered gift wrap service too at least for holidays. They also have a cool record collection if you like records. The service is nice. The only thing is if you are carrying a large bill they may not be able to break it for you. I ended up leaving my desired one of a kind purchase behind one time because they couldn't break a $100. It was a Saturday afternoon and I had other things to do so didn't make it back. I truly wanted the item and tried to go next door to 2 or more of the other shops but those places also refused to break my benjamin so word to the wise they accept credit or use small bills. I really like the concept of this shop (supporting small Long Beach businesses and artists), so I was excited to purchase a Christmas present from their online shop. The item never arrived, but I was out of town anyway, so I contacted them just after the holidays to notify them. They were very nice, and although they couldn't track the original package because one of the employees was on vacation they promised to send out a replacement item immediately. I verified my address and expected to receive it with a few days. After three weeks, I am now calling- for the fifth time- to cancel the order and purchase the item directly from the producer. What a shame that the follow through is not there for this shop. Great concept, poor execution. I hope they remedy this issue for their online orders as I would like to use their site again in the future to purchase gifts. read more
