Though 4th Street is home to many cute businesses, Native Sol is a place I make sure to visit every time I am on that street. Native Sol is owned by a woman designer of jewelry and upcycle fashion. You can find many one-of-a-kind items at her stores whether it is her jewelry, clothing or vintage line. Native Sol also carries art and merchandise from many local vendors and artists. You can find unique pieces, prints and art, all while supporting both a local business and local vendors. This shop is well-curated and though the shop is small, it is easy to spend so much time looking and finding gems. Pre-pandemic, Native Sol had art shows and a dj playing in-store during the art walks. Not only is this store supportive of other artists and small businesses, it is also supportive of the community, wanting to provide a welcoming environment for the shoppers. As of right now, only 8 people can be at the store at all times and all must be masked.

a little gem to find while walking through 4th street in Long Beach. this store is very unique and has great affordable jewelry! if you're looking for a gift for someone or just for yourself, i think you'll have no problem finding something here. they have candles, jewelry, chai powder, clothes, and other interesting items. the gentleman who was the cashier was nice and let us shop around the store no problem. will return again!

I've been a loyal customer of May's Native Sol for nearly 10 years. I love how she up-cycles vintage garments and transforms them into fashion-forward, creative designs. Native Sol's clothing and jewelry is 100% original, eco-friendly and each piece is one of a kind. May is also careful not to use anything from animals (leather, feather, bones, etc). Instead, she uses beautiful stones, which she's very knowledgeable of & can tell you what kind of properties they have, making them so much more meaningful to wear. May's metal work & beading style are also very creative with pretty designs. Native Sol also carries merchandise from other artists and vendors such as purses, containers, essential oils, tonics, and paintings. I always come here when I need a new summer outfit, a statement piece, or a gift! And you will always be greeted by a warm, friendly face (May, Ty, his mom, and maybe the adorable children :)

Such an awesome place! So much authentic handmade jewelry and goods. The owner is also super kind. Really loved all of the vintage as well.

Fun fun fun…read more.. Another amazing store that literally carries everything. It can be a bit overwhelming when you walk in but your eyes will get adjusted...lol... This place has loads and I mean loads of fun hidden jewels. There's so much items in stock that you literally have to spend some time here. You will literally want everything that you see. The selection of clothing from all sorts of era. You have fun theme items which theres loads. Of course they can be a daily wear item. The vintage collection is top notch. All the decors throughout the stores are fun. Vintage mannequin heads, the dressing rooms doors made of old vintage refrigerator doors, they were great. There's a huge selection of vintage jewelry on displays as well as loads of fun sunglasses. Beside the clothes, the vintage signs which I assume are display were fun. Now that'll be great for home decor. Not sure if they're for sale though. Basically this is another gem along the art district that worth a wander. So much amazing and fun pieces.

The plus is that there is a lot to choose from in this thrift shop. The minus is that it is hard to…read moreshop because the racks are jam packed too tight and I hate that because when you try to pull one thing out five other things come jumping off the rack. The other negative is that they are a bit over priced for what they have so I ended up not purchasing anything here. The decor is cool and I do suggest people stop in to see if there is something they might like.

It's been a while since I last reviewed ButterScotch LBC, I think my last review was in 2020. So…read moreI'm long over due for an update. I've still been coming in to the shop about 2 to 5 times a year on average since about 2018. In fact I own all but 1 of their motel anniversary key chains at this point. I still think it's a great store, and Tommy's aesthetic and eye for detail (on the decor and hand-picked items, and colabs) is far above any other men's moto-centric fashion retailers out there. That's what makes this update hard; the main issue I currently encounter with the shop is on the customer service side. I'm likely a bit bias here as I've worked on the service side with multi-billion dollar companies for a couple of decades now and have high expectations, which I even put on myself but I don't believe they're at all unreasonable, considering the cost of the items that are sold at the shop. I'll start with a few months ago; I reached out to the ButterScotch LBC instagram account via DM (which I've done in the past without issue) and ask if they'll be stocking a new item (gloves) from a retailer which I know they've sold in the past/currently, someone reads my message (confirmed via instagram 'read/seen' verifiction) but I get zero response back from them to confirm/deny if they'll be having said item in stock...Fine, no biggie maybe someone forgot to reply, I count it as a miss on there end. Fast forward to today, I stop by at the shop at 1:10PM after about a 40-mile group ride with friends, and I was excited to introduce my riding buddies to the shop. After circling for parking (which is pretty difficult btw) I see the lights all off in the shop and the bars on the front door. Odd because I checked the site and instagram profile, and it says they are open from 1p-5p on Sundays. I also checked the stories to make sure I didn't miss any news updates about closure today, and nada. My assumption is Tommy or one of his workers is running behind on opening the shop. Not a biggie we continue the ride with my friends to BA Moto to meet up for an event and I tell them not to worry I'll DM the shop and see if maybe they're just opening later today. I messaged the shop 20 minutes later and ask if they'd be open later instead or at all today so we could swing by on the way back from our ride, and once again the message is shown as 'read/seen' but no sign of life nor response. So I had to tell my friends that I'm assuming the stores closed for the day, and we can't stop by, total missed opportunity for some new customers. So here's my dilemma, in the past I've corresponded with Tommy directly via instagram DM with zero issues, now I'm not getting any response and I'm not sure if it's because they don't like to use instagram messaging as a means of communication now if they simply don't want my buisness any more (if that's the case it's totally fine) it's just a really odd customer service experience regardless. At this point, I'd give the unqiue clothing/items a 4 out of 5, the shop decor a 4 out of ,5 and then customer service a 2 out of 5 so they land currently at a 3 out of 5 overall for me at the moment. For what it's worth, I do hope to update this to a better review at some point if the situation can ever be clarified for me.
