The dishes themselves were awesome and didn't need to lean on toppings, but it was nice to have a container with pickled ginger on the side just in case. Both plates came with ideal portions to match the price. It honestly felt like such a good deal since other curry spots tend to up-charge a lot more, especially for additional toppings. We were seated quickly and checked in on throughout our meal, so the customer service here is prompt. The interior is small with limited capacity under 25 or so people. They have bar and table seats to accommodate medium sized groups, but our group of 3 was able to be seated with little wait. I've had my fair share of curry, but not very often do I experience it with a cheese sauce. I decided to be a lil adventurous and jump on that cheesy bandwagon. While aesthetically pleasing and fun to pour on top, the sauce itself was very grainy. Once cooled, it was kinda gross if you dip your cutlet in it since it had a clumpy mouthfeel. Not ideal.. Got standard spice level and regular rice size, but if you customize you can choose larger rice portions or spicier levels. Wow. Where do I even begin? Food: I ordered the Omelet Curry with Pork Cutlet. Unfortunately the dish was very disappointing. The curry was bland and lacked depth of flavor. I could only taste the spice which overpowered everything else including the omelet. The pork cutlet was extremely dry, tough, and hard while the breading was soggy rather than crispy. Overall the food was simply not good. Service: When I arrived, there was only one other table dining in. I sat down and was given the menu without so much of a greeting. The server approached and immediately asked, "Ready to order?" with an aggressive attitude. Not a welcoming experience. During the meal, the server never checked on me, asked how the food was or offered a water refill. When I finished and went to the counter to pay, the server finally asked if my meal was good. I should have been honest but I simply replied "It was okay." What happened next was surprising. The server responded "Well you're forgetting something" implying that I should leave a tip. Knowing the fact that there were only two occupied tables in the restaurant, service was terrible and lackluster. The comment made felt inappropriate and very unprofessional. I've come here twice with friends and can say that this is a pretty solid curry spot, especially when more popular places (like the one in DJ) are bound to be filled up in the evenings. It's also pleasantly nostalgic for me personally, as there used to be a Curry House on this block. The first time, I had the karaage curry. The second time, I again had the karaage curry but with the omelet add-on. Both times the portion amounts were just right (albeit a little bit more food than I can handle), and the flavor was pretty rich and delicious. One note is that I really recommend getting the standard spiciness if you're sensitive to spice (I find hot Cheetos spicy), and even then I could definitely feel the spice building over time. When coming inside, I didn't expect the inside to be so small where only 20 people can be seated. They unfortunately don't have hot/warm water so expect to get cold, ice water. We got our food, which we got green salad, omelette curry rice with hamburg steak (large), pork katsu curry (regular), and omelette curry rice with pork katsu (regular) with all of them at level 2 spicy. I didn't think it was spicy but had a nice small kick. The green salad wasn't too bad and had good dressing so was nice to share. I was slightly disappointed on the pork katsu curry cause the katsu was smaller than I thought and I didn't think the curry was that great either. For how much everything cost, I feel like it was way overpriced. After we finished eating, somehow our server must really want us to leave cause they kept asking and checking if they can take our plates away, which we weren't really happy about. The restaurant is small, with a few tables and counter spaces. However, it wasn't very busy, so my friends and I had a table to ourselves, and it was pretty spacious. In the menu, it's interesting to see that there are two free options of spicy levels for the curry; if you want it spicier, it would cost extra. However, this was not a problem for me since the second spice level was perfect- not too mild or too spicy. Overall, what you see in the pictured menu is what you get! The wait time felt brief, maybe a max of 10 minutes. I really enjoyed the flavor of the curry, and the pork cutlet was tender with a good crunch.
