    Agedashi Tofu
    Nixon V.

Stopped into Curry Do for a quick lunch after a gymnastics meet, hungry and a little pressed for time. It turned out to be exactly the kind of place you hope to find in that moment. We ordered two chicken katsu curry plates, one mild and one hot, plus agedashi tofu and an order of curry fries with cheese to share. The katsu came out crisp and evenly fried, with a light crunch that held up under the curry. The chicken stayed juicy inside, cut thick enough to feel substantial without being heavy. The mild curry was smooth and comforting, gently spiced and easy to eat quickly. The hot version had a real kick, not just extra heat for show, but deeper spice that built as you went. Portions were generous across the board and felt like good value for a lunch plate. The agedashi tofu was soft and custardy in the center, with a delicate crust that didn't get soggy. The broth was warm and savory without being overly salty. The curry fries with cheese were indulgent in the best way. Crisp fries, plenty of curry, and melted cheese that pulled everything together without drowning it. Service was quick and friendly, which mattered given the tight window. Orders were taken efficiently, food came out fast, and no one made us feel rushed once we sat down. Overall, this was a very solid five-star lunch. Comforting food, good portions, and smooth pacing from the kitchen. Practical tip: if you like heat, go for the hot curry. It actually delivers, and it's especially good with the katsu.

My fave curry restaurant in OC. Food is always fresh and delicious. The curry is flavorful and you can choose your spice level. I usually get mild, maybe next time I'll try medium. The chicken katsu is crispy and tender (if that makes sense). The meat is moist and not dry. The ginger is one of my faves, it's so yummy, and I'm not usually a ginger person. Lol The chicken katsu with udon noodles is also good. The noodles are cooked to perfection. I haven't tried anything else, but will do! Update coming soon. I usually order the regular size, which used to be a pretty decent portion. I came last month and the portion was bigger, I was able to share it with my bf. However, today the portion seemed smaller than usual. Not sure if they cut down on their portion size. The service is always great. The restroom is clean.

I love how you can basically create your own meal here. I got a spicy chicken katsu curry and it was amazing. The spice level of the curry was actually spicy, and I liked that I was able to order a smaller rice portion. The restaurant wasn't busy during the weekend, so service was pretty fast. Will definitely return if I'm craving curry!

Absolutely loved our meal at Curry Do! The chicken katsu was crispy, juicy deliciousness. We ordered the build-your-own bowl with chicken katsu and rice, plus another chicken katsu bowl with the spicy udon. Warning: spicy means SPICY. A lot of restaurants tone it down to an American spicy, but this is the real deal--true, burning, satisfying Asian spicy. So good! The plain udon was also a big hit with our kids, which made the meal even easier. And bonus: weekdays kids eat free! Huge win for families. We'll definitely be back!

Been to Curry Do in Tustin and already knew what to order here. My go-to is the pork belly with rice and fried egg and added potatoes/carrots. I've tried the Original curry which is sweet and very tiny spice and the Mild curry which is less sweet but more spicy. Both sauces are honestly great just depends what you prefer. The pork belly cooked to perfection. The fried egg sunny side and also perfectly executed. The white rice is quality and moist with great texture. Service friendly. If i could give 2 suggestions to make it even better: 1. Replace tap water with filtered water. I couldn't drink it tastes so bad. Should be the norm. 2. Add a little salt on the pork belly when cooking. Its very bland as is and salt will enhance the flavors.

Absolutely amazing. I love curry so much and Curry Do is THE spot when that craving hits. Everything about this place just hits right, the flavor, the spice, the comfort. Like seriously, I could eat this every week and not get tired of it. But I gotta give a massive shoutout to JJ, the best server on the floor and honestly probably the whole franchise. Dude was attentive, quick, funny, and just made the whole experience ten times better. Someone please give this man a raise because he's built different. I left full, happy, and already planning my next visit.

Curry Do is located in the same plaza as Halal Guys, Blue Bowl, and Wanderlust Creamery. I came during a Tuesday lunch and was seated right away for a party of 3. Parking was easy & the interior was beautiful, clean, and aesthetic. Service was great and attentive. I got the tonkatsu curry with fried egg and everything was delicious and flavorful. My friends also enjoyed their dishes. The lunch special they got also came with an appetizer and they said the 3-piece Takoyaki was also really good. I'd definitely come back if I'm craving Japanese curry or to try one of the many other things on their menu.

Thinly fried chicken cutlets served with a rich and savory Japanese curry on a bed of fluffy white rice is something many of us crave for now and then. If you're like me, who appreciates a side of pickled red ginger, then you my friend have good taste lol.It really works wonder and my favorite component to this entree! I went to Curry Do on a Friday night around 6pm and the place was located in a pretty tight packed restaurant plaza. Luckily, we came right before the dinner rush so found parking right in front of the restaurant. We went inside and the it took over a Korean restaurant called Hashigo, which I loved, so I was expecting some good food here. The restaurant had a few patrons dining with their kids since they have a kids eat for free promotion going on. We got seated right away but this is where it went downhill after that. We didn't get to place in our order for about 7-10 minutes upon seating and when we were trying to get the attention of the server, he just did not bother to look our way or ever came back. He brought of beverage and never returned. I feel like they were understaffed or undertrained for service since I could also see other diners waiting for their food for a while. Another server came by to drop off our food, spicy shichimi peppers and pickled red ginger. She was better than the last server since it seemed like she knew what she was doing, but I did have remind to bring the peppers and ginger so kind of an inconvenience. I did think curry and cutlet was good, but my wife didn't see anything special with it. She prefered to eat across the street at Mitsuwa's food court where we usually go to but, I think they did a good job. The stone bowl really kept the dish and curry super hot which I love. The crispy cutlets were fried perfectly and curry had the perfect balance of sweet and savoriness. I'd rate 4/5 food but the service was 2/5. I would possibly come back once they got all their ducks in a row.

ISHIYAKI CURRY $18.50 CURRY RICE ENTREE WITH CHEESE, TOMATO, AND YOUR CHOICE OF PROTEIN SERVED IN A HOT STONE BOWL

Thank you, Curry Do, Hayley H, Ari M, and Yelp OC for inviting me to your Yelp Elite Experience which allowed us to try one complimentary entree with one complimentary add-on. I came on a Saturday evening and was able to try the Ishiyaki Curry with Pork Belly. Although pictured on the menu, it does not automatically come with the fried egg. I was thankfully able to have it as an add-on that was included in my Yelp Elite Experience, and am so glad I did. The curry is not usually spicy for this dish but I asked for them to please make it spicy. The entrees arrived with the fried egg, pork belly, rice, and tomatoes already in a stone bowl. The server then poured steaming hot curry over it. Watch out for your first bite because the temperature can be very hot! I like that it came in a stone bowl because this came the temperature of the food hot for the whole meal. The Curry was tasty and flavorful and had the perfect amount of spices (although it did not feel spicy at all for me). The pork belly was tender and yummy. The rice had that little bit of crispiness at that bottom where it touched the stone bowl (which I loved). They offered a small side of pickled radishes that I threw into the pot and enjoyed the little bit of tangy flavor it gave to balance the whole dish. I really enjoyed my meal so I also ordered takeout for my family. I got the Pork Belly Donburi and Agedashi Tofu. Both which my family enjoyed! The restaurant interior was well-lit, minimal, clean, with high ceilings. Servers were great, polite, and we're quick to clean up tables as people left. Pop music was playing and the A/C was on full blast. Parking lot is free and there is valet (not sure how much it costs) available if you have trouble finding a spot since there are a lot of restaurants in this plaza area. I didn't have to use since there were a few spots available in front of the restaurant.

    Super tasty CHICKEN KATSU CURRY

Stumbled upon Curry Do after watching a show at Segerstrom w/ 4 friends and it was so tasty! Highly recommend the chicken katsu curry with udon (it hit the spot)! I'm small and got the regular size and it was perfect! My friends got the soft shell crab and I tried it and it was so tasty!!! As well the kikusui sake? Perfect and smooth! I am generally allergic to alcohol but this didn't make me itchy and was very clean! Great music as well!!! Will def come back next time we are back in the OC! Excellent service! Thanks Pierce, Jae, Elaine and team!

Always hitting the spot! So sad that the BP location closed because I used to doordash this pretty often but glad that they opened a Costa Mesa location and it's close to my Santa Ana office. If you're craving curry katsu, this is the place to go! It's so delicious and tasty and curry has such great consistency. Tbh, Cocoichiban hasn't been the same for a while so I definitely started to prefer Curry Do. Took my coworker here and it was his first time trying Japanese curry and he LOVED it. Service is great too! Highly recommend coming here. Also want to point say that I was here for a yelp elite experience and it did not disappoint, 5/5 allll around!

    Small chicken curry

This spot is located in a busy business area with a lot of foot traffic. Parking wasn't too bad and we found a spot out front. We walked in on a Wednesday night and we were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. We sat and they directed us to their QR code menus. It wasn't too busy inside and the waitress was very good with cleaning the tables and not leaving things there. We reviewed the menu and decided to get curry katsu chicken. I got the the regular and my wife got the small. I also added a tempura shrimp and an egg which came at an additional cost. The regular size curry chicken was around $18 and the small was about $14. We also got the happy hour gyoza. We both got mild curry and the waitress said that we could get the chili on the side that they would normally put in the curry to make it more spicy. It didn't take too long and to bring out our food. The small didn't look much smaller than the regular. However it did look like there was a little less chicken. The curry was delicious. It was on the sweeter side but when we out the spice in it, it made it more savory and a little spicy. We were glad we got the spice on the side and got to add it. It's a very nice spot. I'd come back for curry again. They were very attentive and checked in with us often which was nice.

My hubby and I tried this new curry spot. We ended up getting take out. It seems they were short staff on a Friday night because there were only 2 servers and they were busy. After placing our order, the server was very friendly. She did give us a heads up that the wait might be longer than usual and apologized in advanced. The Chicken Katsu Curry was pretty good! Chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

    NICE!

The rice was perfect and the miso soup was good, and I particularly liked the sweet potatoes. Back to the food. It was overpriced. Rice portions were slim, minimal meat in the soup and curry that comes with the set. Flavor-wise, very salty soup and curry and unimpressive beef tongue. There are so many restaurants in the area but we somehow stumbled on Kitakata on a Friday night and…read moreit was just what we needed. It was busy, as the weather called for ramen. Yet, we were seated right away. We ordered two types of ramen and the ramen flavors are similar, with slight variations. I loved the melt-in-your-mouth pork, the broth was hearty, and the noodles were slurpable. We even enjoyed their spiked Japanese selzters. When we wanted to go, we did have to track down a waitress for our check, but, honestly how welcoming they were were and how cool the ambiance was made us look past this.

[Missing noodles, expensive ramen, bad customer service, and no reason to come back.]…read more I visited this restaurant to place a to-go order and picked up my food during a late lunch around 1:40 p.m. I ordered two items, including a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. When I got back to work in Santa Ana and opened my bag around 2:30 p.m., my ramen had NO NOODLES. It was literally just broth and toppings. I called the restaurant expecting a simple apology and a reasonable solution. Instead, the manager would not even speak to me directly and chose to communicate through a waiter the entire time, which made the situation even more frustrating. We went back and forth multiple times with the waiter acting as the middleman. First, they told me I could come back and pick up the missing noodles. That was not realistic. I was already back at work, and it takes me about 25 minutes to get from Fountain Valley to Santa Ana. Driving all the way back for a side of noodles made no sense. So I asked for what seemed like the easiest and most reasonable solution: a complimentary bowl of ramen on my next visit. Instead, I was told no, but they could give me "extra noodles" next time. Extra noodles next time? What exactly was that supposed to do for me when I was sitting there hungry with no actual ramen to eat that day? Then the manager, again through the waiter, said she would personally drive noodles to my job. I even told them that did not make sense because by the time she got there, it would be around 4:30 p.m. At that point, my lunch break would be long over, the ramen would be cold, and all of it would be a waste of my time, her time, restaurant resources, and gas. But I agreed, because at that point it was obvious they really did not want to simply offer me a free bowl of ramen on my next visit. And to be clear, I was not asking for some huge free meal. I was asking to be compensated for the ramen I already paid good money for and did not even receive correctly. For how expensive ramen is, that should not have been a difficult ask. About 10 minutes later, the waiter called back and said the manager would give me a free bowl of ramen next time I came in, which was the exact solution I had suggested from the start. I can only assume she realized how far the drive was and how unnecessary and impractical that solution would have been. Mistakes happen. Forgetting the noodles was one thing. But the way this was handled was unnecessarily difficult, inconvenient, and honestly kind of absurd. I did not ask for a refund. I was looking for an apology and some common-sense customer service. Instead, I got a lot of back-and-forth and a manager who would not even speak to me directly. Kudos to the waiter for doing their best to mediate the situation. Even they thought the situation could of been handled differently by the manager. Very disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to others based on how this situation was handled.

Randomly decided to try this place with the wife last night…read more I remembered there being a spot called mogu mogu here prior and confirmed with the waitress that it's the same menu! Spicy miso ramen: 9/10 Actually one of the better ramens I've had lately. The broth is creamier and isn't overpowering with chicken/beef flavor. The chashu was nice and tender as well. I really liked that their noodles were al dente and not too soft Deluxe mazemen: 8/10 Taking my first bite, I was instantly greeted with an explosion of umami. There's a LOT of flavor packed in this bowl and the noodles used are actually a bit thicker which is right up my alley. My only drawback on this dish was that I wished it came with some sort of veggies to cut through all the flavor. They also give you a small serving of rice at the end for you to mix into the bottom which was a nice addition Kurobota sausage: 7.5/10 We've recently been on a kurobota craze. Don't get me wrong, these were great but we've only had them charred and grilled before so I was taken aback when I saw that these were only steamed. Flavor was spot on but I'm a sucker for a nice char or crisp to my meat Overall, loved the service and small restaurant vibe of this spot. We were seated very quickly and the food came out even faster. Definitely come try this spot, I know we'll be back

Never had Mazemen before which is basically broth-less ramen with various of toppings. We were on…read morethe way to Kitakata, but after finding this place on Yelp, we had to check out the hype. The interior is cozy and small with authentic Japanese decorations/setup. Kinda felt like we were eating in Kyoto or something, lol. The lady who served us was friendly and gave us good recommendations. I think she was handling the whole operation to be honest. To start it off, we ordered their specialty chicken karaage and it was very delicious. It has a nice crispy and crunchy texture. The batter on the chicken was good and once you bite it, the meat is juicy and tender. Doesn't really need dipping since it's so good. As for the Mazemen, we ordered the Deluxe and Veggie one, both is a 5/5. Very flavorful and it tastes just like ramen, but without the soup. The presentation of the dish looks like a work of art. Very picture pretty. I ate that shit up within ten minutes. After that they give you a scoop of rice so you can mix it up with the leftover sauce. Lots of umami for sure. Definitely will come back again to try the other flavors. People, trust me and come through!
