Wanting something relatively quick, Curry Do showed up during our dinner search. It wasn't very busy on a Saturday evening when we arrived. We were given the QR code to scan to view the menu. We ordered: * Tonkatsu Curry ($14.50) small - I really liked that there were two options as I wasn't super hungry and the size was perfect. I had just enough for myself and enough to give a few pieces away too. The curry was tasty as well. * Child Set with Chicken Katsu, Potato & Carrots with Curry ($9.95) - The child set portion was also a nice option and also gave a little variety because it included 2 pieces of gyoza as well. * Tonkatsu Curry Udon ($17.50) regular - This was a good size, and it was obviously good as the Little Guy left the bowl empty. * Ishiyaki Curry with Tonkatsu ($18.50) - This was the most standout dish as it was different since it was served in a hot stone bowl. The crispy rice bits at the end were his favorite part. Service was good and attentive. Overall, the food was decent and satisfied us. Located next to Anjin and Afuri, it's easy to find parking. When we arrived it was kinda full, but there was only one server. We waited quite some time until we got a qr code to scan. Inside is clean, and minimally furnished. The tap water tastes very bad, tried a sip and didn't want to touch it again. Food is mediocre, curry is fine, no acidic aftertaste which is a plus, katsus are very bland. One of the takoyaki is even cold inside. Delcious curry at Curry Do! Came during lunch on a weekend and the restaurant was pretty empty. Don't know why because their curry is fantastic! Pricing is on the higher side for a regular size curry ($17.50). You can get a smaller portion for $14.50. I have a healthy appetite and got the regular with tonkatsu. The pork was a leaner than I prefer, so I would probably get the chicken the next time. The sauce was great and I cleaned my plate. My husband got the curry udon with shrimp and devoured his as well. During the week Tue-Fri 11:30am-3pm, they have lunch combos where you can get a small bowl of curry and an appetizer for $13.50. What a deal! Used to eat at the Tustin one all the time but now since it's closer to me in Costa Mesa, even better Service was great and they're open late so we were able to stop by Saturday night without having to wait. The spicy chicken katsu is new (to me) and had a spicy paste they cook into it. Would highly recommend. Pork belly is incredibly crispy and juice too. Stopped into Curry Do for a quick lunch after a gymnastics meet, hungry and a little pressed for time. It turned out to be exactly the kind of place you hope to find in that moment. We ordered two chicken katsu curry plates, one mild and one hot, plus agedashi tofu and an order of curry fries with cheese to share. My fave curry restaurant in OC. Food is always fresh and delicious. The curry is flavorful and you can choose your spice level. I usually get mild, maybe next time I'll try medium. The chicken katsu is crispy and tender (if that makes sense). The meat is moist and not dry. The ginger is one of my faves, it's so yummy, and I'm not usually a ginger person. Lol The chicken katsu with udon noodles is also good. The noodles are cooked to perfection. I haven't tried anything else, but will do! Update coming soon. I usually order the regular size, which used to be a pretty decent portion. I came last month and the portion was bigger, I was able to share it with my bf. Parking was easy & the interior was beautiful, clean, and aesthetic. Service was great and attentive. I got the tonkatsu curry with fried egg and everything was delicious and flavorful. Been to Curry Do in Tustin and already knew what to order here. My go-to is the pork belly with rice and fried egg and added potatoes/carrots. I've tried the Original curry which is sweet and very tiny spice and the Mild curry which is less sweet but more spicy. Both sauces are honestly great just depends what you prefer. The pork belly cooked to perfection. The fried egg sunny side and also perfectly executed. The white rice is quality and moist with great texture. Service friendly. If i could give 2 suggestions to make it even better: 1. Replace tap water with filtered water. I couldn't drink it tastes so bad. Should be the norm. 2. I came on a Saturday evening and was able to try the Ishiyaki Curry with Pork Belly. Although pictured on the menu, it does not automatically come with the fried egg. I was thankfully able to have it as an add-on that was included in my Yelp Elite Experience, and am so glad I did. The curry is not usually spicy for this dish but I asked for them to please make it spicy. The entrees arrived with the fried egg, pork belly, rice, and tomatoes already in a stone bowl. The server then poured steaming hot curry over it. Watch out for your first bite because the temperature can be very hot! I like that it came in a stone bowl because this came the temperature of the food hot for the whole meal. The Curry was tasty and flavorful and had the perfect amount of spices (although it did not feel spicy at all for me). The pork belly was tender and yummy. The rice had that little bit of crispiness at that bottom where it touched the stone bowl (which I loved). They offered a small side of pickled radishes that I threw into the pot and enjoyed the little bit of tangy flavor it gave to balance the whole dish. I really enjoyed my meal so I also ordered takeout for my family. I got the Pork Belly Donburi and Agedashi Tofu. Both which my family enjoyed! The restaurant interior was well-lit, minimal, clean, with high ceilings. Servers were great, polite, and we're quick to clean up tables as people left. Pop music was playing and the A/C was on full blast. Parking lot is free and there is valet (not sure how much it costs) available if you have trouble finding a spot since there are a lot of restaurants in this plaza area. Thinly fried chicken cutlets served with a rich and savory Japanese curry on a bed of fluffy white rice is something many of us crave for now and then. If you're like me, who appreciates a side of pickled red ginger, then you my friend have good taste lol.It really works wonder and my favorite component to this entree! I went to Curry Do on a Friday night around 6pm and the place was located in a pretty tight packed restaurant plaza. Luckily, we came right before the dinner rush so found parking right in front of the restaurant. We went inside and the it took over a Korean restaurant called Hashigo, which I loved, so I was expecting some good food here. The restaurant had a few patrons dining with their kids since they have a kids eat for free promotion going on. We got seated right away but this is where it went downhill after that. We didn't get to place in our order for about 7-10 minutes upon seating and when we were trying to get the attention of the server, he just did not bother to look our way or ever came back. He brought of beverage and never returned. I feel like they were understaffed or undertrained for service since I could also see other diners waiting for their food for a while. Another server came by to drop off our food, spicy shichimi peppers and pickled red ginger. She was better than the last server since it seemed like she knew what she was doing, but I did have remind to bring the peppers and ginger so kind of an inconvenience. I did think curry and cutlet was good, but my wife didn't see anything special with it. She prefered to eat across the street at Mitsuwa's food court where we usually go to but, I think they did a good job. The stone bowl really kept the dish and curry super hot which I love. The crispy cutlets were fried perfectly and curry had the perfect balance of sweet and savoriness. I'd rate 4/5 food but the service was 2/5. The spice level of the curry was actually spicy, and I liked that I was able to order a smaller rice portion. The restaurant wasn't busy during the weekend, so service was pretty fast. We walked in on a Wednesday night and we were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. We sat and they directed us to their QR code menus. It wasn't too busy inside and the waitress was very good with cleaning the tables and not leaving things there. We reviewed the menu and decided to get curry katsu chicken. I got the the regular and my wife got the small. I also added a tempura shrimp and an egg which came at an additional cost. The regular size curry chicken was around $18 and the small was about $14. We also got the happy hour gyoza. We both got mild curry and the waitress said that we could get the chili on the side that they would normally put in the curry to make it more spicy. It didn't take too long and to bring out our food. The small didn't look much smaller than the regular. However it did look like there was a little less chicken. The curry was delicious. It was on the sweeter side but when we out the spice in it, it made it more savory and a little spicy. We were glad we got the spice on the side and got to add it. It's a very nice spot. Stumbled upon Curry Do after watching a show at Segerstrom w/ 4 friends and it was so tasty! Highly recommend the chicken katsu curry with udon (it hit the spot)! I'm small and got the regular size and it was perfect! My friends got the soft shell crab and I tried it and it was so tasty!!! As well the kikusui sake? Perfect and smooth! Curry Do had a write up in AAA magazine so that's what brought me in! I got the chicken katsu curry with medium spice. It was tasty and just the perfect amount of spice. My friend got hers with carrots and potatoes, and I will definitely try that next time. They have a great happy hour menu with decent prices...my husband and I split a large beer for just $7. The vibe was pretty casual and the longer that we stayed the more customers came in. Our server was sweet and a little chatty, my husband like that. Around 10 something I tried calling to see if they could make my order sooner, nobody answered. I called again at 11 something, nobody answered. I called again at 11:30ish nobody answered. So I gave up and decided to arrive at 12pm hoping it'd be ready early. I get there and they have no idea about my order and I had to show them my online receipt. Great! The meals were for an event so now I'm gonna be late. They finished prepping my order around 12:30pm. Again, the food was delicious but portions were very small. The curry includes a "small" rice portion instead of "regular." You can pay to increase to regular. All of the proteins from each entree could have been much more generous; the shrimp tempura came with only two pieces! Good food but if you're starving, you may need to order a second entree or side proteins... which can get costly. read more

UPDATE - Another win for Curry Do! Last time (a few posts back) I came for their lunch special, but this time I wanted to try something else. Service was quick as usual and the restaurant was not too crowded so things felt relaxed and super chill. They had a seasonal Cold Lemon Udon which sounded so refreshing and unique! I'm a big fan of sour soups, lemon / yuzu flavor profiles, and udon, so this was perfect. You can choose either a tsukemen (dipping ramen) style or soup. Each order comes with a side of katsu and either curry/katsu sauce. This was PERFECT for summer! Cold, refreshing, not too heavy, and very fresh. Udon was chewy and not overcooked. The dashi soy broth wasn't too salty and the green onion + seaweed added good flavor. 10/10! I also got the beef belly donburi which is a sauteed beef belly with sweet soy sauce served over rice with green onion, fried garlic, picked radish, and a side salad. More curry than you'd expect... I came here during my lunch and initially wanted just a beef belly bowl (no curry). I guess the waiter misheard he and thought I said the beef belly curry. Either way, the food was good so I wasn't complaining. The one thing I will say is that the plate came out with more than 50% curry! I would help they'd at least mask it by spreading the rice out to make it look like it's half rice and half curry... but my photo should be clear to show that this was not the case. The ambiance here is typical for a curry do restaurant chain - it's fairly sized with multiple seating and tables. There isn't too much to say about the interior. The parking here can sometimes be tough only because it's in a plaza with a lot of other shops and restaurants. The service I would think is generally good, except for the order mess-up I had. Overall, despite the tough parking and the mixed up order, I'd still recommend this place as the food was good and the wait wasn't terribly long. I'd come back and give it another chance. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night and the place was empty, which meant fast service for us though. It's located in a plaza that is SUPER busy so parking in their free lot can be hard here. The curry was great and the menchi patties were on the sweeter side but it didn't blow my mind or anything. I personally don't feel a need to come back but if my friends wanted to, I would still go cause it was good. We heard about Curry Do through an Instagram reel. We ordered the spicy chicken curry, curry fries, and ishiyaki curry with beef belly. The ishiyaki curry was so hot but also very good. They give you one extra bowl of curry if you order the ishiyaki. The chicken curry was okay. I thought the curry was pretty sweet compared to Japanese curry I've had. The chicken katsu was not good. I got spicy katsu and they put something on top. The katsu felt more soggy than crispy. I thought the curry fries were okay but the curry tasted like box curry you can get at the Korean market. The only thing I enjoyed was the ishiyaki curry. The restaurant was pretty spacious which was nice but I'm not sure if I would come back. read more
