There were many varieties of beautiful cakes and cupcakes (vegan and regular), however I didn't need a whole cake, and I didn't see individual slices for sale, so I passed on those. The gentleman had such happy vibes and such pride in his baking that I had to pick up a few things. He said he made the creme brulee and cannoli, so I got those. I also picked up something called a Konafa with custard, as well as a package of baklava. I looked up Konafa to see what it was made of (shredded phyllo dough), and discovered it was something Egyptians ate during Ramadan. How fitting...Today is the first day of Ramadan so I will celebrate in spirit! =) The crème brulee was pretty good, the cannoli was great! I wasn't really a fan of the baklava (it was too hard for me personally) or konafa as both were really dry and tasteless. I am used to baklava being syrupy and sticky and flaky. I feel like I've had konafa before and the shredded phyllo was yellow color and on the crispy side, rather than soft and white. I guess it depends on the style of what country makes it. I was given extra containers of syrup for them, he said in case I wanted it more sweet, but it didn't really help. I'll have to come back and give the cakes a try since it's mainly a cake shop. I'd love to try their gluten free cakes for my son. I'm not vegan, but for those of you who are, this is an option for you!

If I had to come up with a complaint, it would only be that things sell out fast but honestly, that just speaks to how good everything is. You learn pretty quickly that if you want your favorites, you have to get there early. How it went: Fabulous! Precovid, our honorees would be subjected to a "Hug Line" dozens of people long. Not a lot of fans of that nowadays! JoJo's solved our issue - creating a new tradition for our honorees. Each of our nine honorees were asked their favorite cake choice and filling. One was additionally gluten free. Jojo masterfully created these nine cakes that were the perfect pantones and properly positioned logo of our nonprofit. Each cake double as a centerpiece at the table, stealing the show. The honorees were surprised to see their name and realized why their dessert preference was requested. Each honoree's senior cut and served them and the remaining table attendees, sharing the sweet success. Jojo is going to have an annual order, continuing this newly embraced tradition. We already have three honorees in the first three weeks of our nonprofit's new year... we may need more than 9 cakes in the following year (a great and tasty problem to have)!

A Little Peek Before Dinner... Because Dessert Has No Rules!…read more We were headed to a birthday dinner right next door and decided to stop in for a little peek because, let's be honest... who doesn't need a sweet treat before AND after dinner?! Priorities! I didn't actually purchase anything this time around, but my sister did a little cupcake damage and picked up a Blueberry Cupcake, Banana Pudding, and Red Velvet Cupcake. She was also sweet enough to grab me an Oatmeal Cream Pie, so technically I still got dessert. Oatmeal Cream Pie Rating: 7.8/10 It was pretty delicious, although definitely a little sweeter than my usual preference. BUT here's the secret: put it in the fridge and eat it the next day. Something about that chilled texture made it even better! The only downside is that the cupcakes are definitely on the pricier side at roughly $7 each, but there were SO many flavors that I wish I had enough room to try everything. Service was very nice and friendly, and it's definitely an easy pick-up-and-go type of spot when that sweet tooth starts calling. Love The Donut Man for their famous strawberry donut.. that thing is of legends. It has been years…read moresince I've known about their seasonal peach donut, I finally got to try it after 8years of missing it! When I bought the peach donut, I was expecting something like the strawberry donut where each piece would be coated well and crisp exterior when you bite. Unfortunately, the peaches fall apart and sort of 'slump' over and does not maintain a crisp fruit texture. While off-putting, the slices themselves are coated with something very pungent, I had a piece in one of my two donuts that felt like there was a sort of 'extract'-level ingredient that made it feel like it was taking away from the peach. As much as I love peaches, this one does not slap as hard as the strawberry. I give this a 5 just for the uniqueness of the donut casing and strawberries. (Also not a fan of the tiger tail, it is said to be the next best item here, but it just lacks flavor throughout the tail)

It is known for their adorable, delightful and soft donuts. And they're all delicious. I have tasted their three donuts- sugared, chocolate and peach. All are good albeit too sweet for my taste. Prices were reasonable. Staff were polite and competent. Overall, I cheated with Donut Man today. And it was nice. lol. I recommend you try.
