I came here the day before my dad's birthday to get a last minute cake and I am so glad I did! I considered going to Whole Foods or Portos but I thought to give this local bakery a shot, especially according to the reviews, they have some good stuff! I came in around 5:30pm and was able to grab this chocolate ganache cake. I noticed that some of the other cakes were already taken which id assume means they're quite popular! The lady who helped me out was very kind and she was nice enough to take the time to write "happy birthday dad" on the cake thank you so much! We finally had the cake again few days later at my dad's birthday dinner and it was DELICIOUS! I honestly want to come back here and try some of their other cakes. They also have other pastries that you can come in and pick out too if you were craving anything sweet in the moment. Found this bakery on Yelp and they did not disappoint. The hours are super convenient and so is the location. I came in on the way to a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon and they saved me. While they customized the cake I ran into Smart & Final next door and picked up some things. The cake itself was absolutely delicious. Pictures do not do it justice. The sponge cake is super moist and tastes amazing. The butter cream and toppings are all excellent as well. Got lucky with the Yelp pick once again. This will be a regular for my cake needs from now on, and will definitely save me some trips to Porto's (but not all of the trips.. Portos's is Porto's after all). read more

I was in the plaza going to another shop and I was intrigued by their window sign of vegan cakes and Turkish coffee. They also mention they offer gluten free cakes by request. I had to go in and see what this place was about! First off, the man who works there is super friendly. As soon as I walked in, he immediately started showing me everything they had in the store. He told me he was Egyptian and also knew how to say "thank you" in many other languages and proceeded to tell me. He was very charming. Extra star for the super service! There were many varieties of beautiful cakes and cupcakes (vegan and regular), however I didn't need a whole cake, and I didn't see individual slices for sale, so I passed on those. The gentleman had such happy vibes and such pride in his baking that I had to pick up a few things. He said he made the creme brulee and cannoli, so I got those. I also picked up something called a Konafa with custard, as well as a package of baklava. I looked up Konafa to see what it was made of (shredded phyllo dough), and discovered it was something Egyptians ate during Ramadan. How fitting...Today is the first day of Ramadan so I will celebrate in spirit! =) The crème brulee was pretty good, the cannoli was great! I wasn't really a fan of the baklava (it was too hard for me personally) or konafa as both were really dry and tasteless. I am used to baklava being syrupy and sticky and flaky. I feel like I've had konafa before and the shredded phyllo was yellow color and on the crispy side, rather than soft and white. I guess it depends on the style of what country makes it. I was given extra containers of syrup for them, he said in case I wanted it more sweet, but it didn't really help. I'll have to come back and give the cakes a try since it's mainly a cake shop. I'd love to try their gluten free cakes for my son. I'm not vegan, but for those of you who are, this is an option for you! read more

I love I heart cake cake. Shout out to Christine!  I went there and met with Christine to order a birthday cake. She was very nice and accommodating. I wanted to have Harry styles face on the cake. She was sweet and discussed all the fine details from the color of the picture to the filling of the cake to the color of sprinkles. Even I discussed with her where to write the Birthday wishes. The cake was phenomenal! It was exactly as I ordered. The whipped cream was light and fluffy, the cake was so light and the filling was fresh and yummy fruits. The second shout out is to Madame Mona! Came to this place since it was local and I wanted to get my partner a cool Shadow the Hedgehog themed cake. Not only was the woman on the phone incredibly nice and caring, her consideration for the time frame was impeccable! Not to mention the cake itself was actually just incredibly delicious as well (after about 3 hours in the fridge, it was STILL moist on the inside). 10/10 Service. 10/10 Food Quality. 10/10 everything! I approach each experience from an optimistic lens. I am never looking for what is lacking, I love to be the communal cheer leader which makes this review uncharacteristically unfavorable. In an effort to be fully transparent, my mother was an excellent home baker and I'm a very good home baker myself. I was visiting the area and the only vegan in my group so I was super excited to patronize this little mom and pop shop. Just because sugar is sweet doesn't mean it's good. I ordered the vegan tiramisu, vegan coconut cake and the baklava. I think they used the same 'cake' and it was dry and flavorless. There was no hint of coffee, or cocoa only sugar. The coconut cake only had coconut on the frosting but there was no hint of coconut flavor, or coconut milk or cream being used. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it has to be dry, or lacking flavor. I bake moist vegan cakes so I know that it can be done well. The syrup for the baklava was simple syrup. Everything tasted like sugar. As a foodie, I know that sweet needs to be balanced. I was so disappointed I just threw it all away. I didn't even take pictures. The single positive about this bakery was the customer service. They were friendly and eager to sell their very over-priced products, but they seemed sincere. I am only reviewing the VEGAN offerings, I did not try anything else. I would not recommend that vegans eat here, it's nice that they try but it's not for us. read more
