Honey Cake and birds milk cake
Haley W.

My partner decided he wanted to try something totally new for his birthday, and after a little research he decided to try a European dessert from Rafi's. I called the bakery and spoke to a women, asking her to help us choose between ordering a honey cake or a birds milk cake. She suggested doing individual slices of each so we could try both, which was a genius idea and cost exactly the same as ordering one whole cake. We have 2 days notice for when we needed to pick up and when we got there it was all boxed up and ready for us. She offered to write on the slices, or to include a chocolate "happy birthday" plate but we declined. The cakes were RIDICULOUSLY good, I cannot believe I've lived 30 years without having honey cake in my life. I will absolutely be back to try more of their treats! Great experience all around

Drove by this place so many times and finally get to visit this place today. They have quite a variety of sweet both French style bakery and Mifdle Eastern desserts. Ranging from butter croissants to ham & cheese to sweet eclairs to baklava to all sorts of other sweet that I am not exposed to. The service was superb so friendly and took time to explain what they are. Lovely little shop. Can park in front of the store and they have more parking in the back. Prices are very reasonable.

I was looking for a local bakery in town and found this on Yelp! It was my first time here, so I walked in and was greeted by the kindest gentleman, Rafi. He was incredibly helpful while I was trying to find pastries to give as a gift, and even gave me baklavas to try for myself, which are my favorite! I had such a wonderful experience, and will be going back later this week! Thank you Rafi!

If you like the taste of fresh European cake or want to try it, Maison Rafi is the right place to go to. They also have a huge selection of Fresh Mediterranean desserts like baklava, kenafeh and more. You can customize your cake, you just need to place your order it in advance. They have chocolate boxes which are great ideas for some gifts. It is a family owned business. The owner and his family are very nice and friendly. I got the following; -Raspberry chocolate, - Black & White cake -Chocolate Eclair -Rum Ball -Apricot Roll - Chocolate Bird Cake They were very fluffy, indulgent and so yummy. I love apricot so the apricot roll is always my favorite. Honestly, all their sliced cakes are outstanding. I tried everything they have throughout the years either cakes, sliced cakes or Mediterranean desserts, and everything was spectacular! It's such an exquisite patisserie / Cake shop in Glendora.

Delicious goodness
Khaing Z W.

We ordered like 10 trays of this delicious goodness for gathering and everyone loves it. We're not very familiar with this kind of dessert and usually have pretty high standards. This little triangle met and exceeded our expectations. Coated with layers of crunch, fresh fruity aroma with generous amount of cheese and most importantly NOT TOO SWEET like typical Costco baklava (ugh) Highly recommend it..

I came in around 5:30pm and was able to grab this chocolate ganache cake. I noticed that some of the other cakes were already taken which id assume means they're quite popular! The lady who helped me out was very kind and she was nice enough to take the time to write "happy birthday dad" on the cake thank you so much! We finally had the cake again few days later at my dad's birthday dinner and it was DELICIOUS! I honestly want to come back here and try some of their other cakes. They also have other pastries that you can come in and pick out too if you were craving anything sweet in the moment. This bakery is truly a sweet hole in the wall spot that I hope gets more recognition over time! Thank you again for the great service and delicious cake!

I came in on the way to a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon and they saved me. While they customized the cake I ran into Smart & Final next door and picked up some things. The cake itself was absolutely delicious. Pictures do not do it justice. The sponge cake is super moist and tastes amazing. The butter cream and toppings are all excellent as well. Got lucky with the Yelp pick once again. This will be a regular for my cake needs from now on, and will definitely save me some trips to Porto's (but not all of the trips.. Portos's is Porto's after all).

Let's Go Dodgers!!!!! The famous fresh strawberry donut is a must if you haven't tried it ur missing out! It's overflowing with real strawberries and sweet cream inside a soft, fluffy donut!!! Great (though expensive) donuts, intentionally insulting service…read more Donut Man has always been too far away to go from our home(s) to just visit there, and there aren't any other businesses in the area to do errands. So it's been a while since we visited. But during our return from Palm Desert back to Long Beach, we took a slight detour to Glendora to pick up their famous donuts during late morning, hoping that it wasn't too busy. There wasn't much of a line, with plenty of surface parking nearby. It's walk-up only, with a small window in the front where you place your order and get your box. The guy manning the window was giving off strange vibes: definitely felt it as I watched him interact with the customers in front of us: telling vs listening. The exit to the line is the same as the entrance, so the previous customers had to squeeze past us. I then waited for the cashier to come back...as he did and before I could speak, he slammed shut the screen on the window in my face and yelled something to the effect of ~I'm busy, will come back in a bit~. The slamming of the door is a practiced bit, and was meant to show everyone who was in charge. He did come back in a bit, but by this time I was nonplussed. I knew what to order (thank goodness), but then he asks 'What kind of strawberry?'...idk. So I pointed to the famous strawberry (as mentioned on the receipt)...no response, but he must have gotten what he wanted. Then his next response was 'You will pay for this AFTER I've boxed up the donuts' as he pointed to the credit card machine. What's funny was that he smiled and joked with his co-workers while he was doing this (just not at the customers)...so this must be the normal here. We got 5 things in total: 2 tiger tails ($3.40 each), 2 strawberry ($6.50), 1 sugar ($2.05). All were excellent donuts , with the whole strawberries being used not being overly sweet this time. The dough used for the donuts reminds me of a very good Chinese donut holes: a bit yeasty, but not as much as a KrispyKreme, and not cakey at all. With a sugar glaze, it very well could be my perfect donut. The donuts are indeed all that, but the possibility of such rude customer interaction (and that the owners are putting him and his attitude out in front instead of in the back where it belongs) negates any inclination to want to return (note to my future self).

Entering the small shop, I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff person. The entire shop is decorated with Latin themed decor and pictures of famous Latina women. There was a small selection of desserts. I was hoping that they sold slices of cakes so that I could sample them, but no luck. I picked up: Churro cheesecake Strawberry Ricotta cake Polvoron cookie White Chocolate Raspberry Muffin Chocolate Turtle Bundt slice Oreo Brownie Cafe de Olla latte Everything was good. It's so cute that they package the muffin in an individual bag, perfect for gifting .The chocolate turtle Bundt slice and churro cheesecake were my favorite. The bottled Cafe de Olla latte was AWESOME!! It comes from a place called The Brew House in La Puente. They also sell potted plants if you need some greenery with your desserts. I asked when the best time to come and get the biggest selection of items, and was told that Thursday afternoons after lunch would be best. I'll have to come back then and hope for more new things to try!

There's a little something called MENTAL HEALTH. This includes doing things that make you FEEL better. Sure, that 'runner's high' we get from time to time feels good, but, how about satisfying ME for a change? You on board? Ok, cool, cool. So, let's take a break from that health kick and reward ourselves with a little treat? I've found the perfect place." So, if your "sweet tooth" could talk, this is EXACTLY what they'd be saying about this bake shop. Seriously, there is NO BETTER place to satisfy your sweet tooth, and not a more deserving baker in the area which would be grateful for you stopping in and doing so. I've tried LOTS of goodies from this spot, and not ONE THING has disappointed me or my family. The only disappointment we feel, is when whatever sweets we picked up are all gone. Womp, womp. Also, let me let you in on a little secret. You aren't dealing with a run of the mill, let me start my own business dreamer. Nope, you've got a full on CHEF running this operation, who is a master at her craft, and the proof is most definitely in that pudding (I don't think I've ever seen her offer pudding, but like, if she did, the proof would be in it). In addition to the delicious treats on display, she takes custom cake orders, and let me tell you, if you think what is offered in store is good, just WAIT until you try one of her mind blowing cakes! So good. So decadent. So....ugh, just go buy one already. She made a nutella cake for my daughter's thirteenth birthday and it was freaking delicious.
