Honestly I was super disappointed. The place is adorable but the service was ridiculous. First off, the guy working seemed to get everyone's orders wrong. Like I saw multiple people come up to say it was wrong. It was crazy expensive for basic food/drink. I got a baguette with some ham and cheese and it was nearly $15. And then he never called it out or checked? I went up like 20 minutes later after waiting and he said "oh yeah that's ready. Do you want it?" Like what? And my friend had the same issue with her tea. It was $7 for a plain black tea that sat around for the same amount of time. I feel bad because it seems cute and nice, but it's way overpriced and they forget about their customers. Stopped in for a quick lunch. I decided on the French Onion Soup and a cup of coffee. The soup was very good, and the broth was spot on. The coffee was super fresh. They give you a few crostini's on the side and cheese on the side to sprinkle on top. Attentive counter person, very airy with plenty of room inside. Perfect for a pastry and coffee. read more

I used to not like this place. About 5 years ago it was way too expensive for the size of the items. Now I think they've kept their prices pretty much the same and because of that I happy to report that this place is excellent. Their sandwiches are lovely if you want it on some beautiful bread with high quality ingredients. Their pastries, pies, and baked goods are simply to die for. The place is also super cute and quiet. I've dined in here and also made several delivery requests for myself and for a group at work. I've experienced food poisoning here twice as has someone else. The last avocado toast order I received smelled like something rotten and looked really bad. I find them overpriced, and a total lack of consistency with the quality of the preparation of food items. There are many other retail options here that are lovely and the staff are very kind, but there are many places in town to enjoy this type of fare, and I'm confused why they have the food quality issues that they seem to have often. I will still consider buying certain pastries and retail items here, but I doubt we will ever consider having full meals delivered, as that seemed to be when they were at their worst. I also have tried the lattes delivered at least 4 different occasions and they were all bad. In the restaurant, they were great, so, unsure again how we go from five star in house to one-two stars in delivery. When you sit down for a meal, it's a cute, pleasant atmosphere, and everything came quick enough and was prepared with love. So, I'm not saying we are swearing them off or anything, but the food poisoning more than once from deliveries really shook us. It's beautiful and a taste of Paris inside with croissants and jams and honey. There's art and pretty decorative French inspired French adornments. Lots of nice tables to enjoy snacks and drinks. The only thing was it was freezing in there on a Saturday afternoon 9/13/2025 it's 74 degrees outside and it felt like 65 degrees in there. They could save energy bills and keep it at 72 degrees bc it's more than comfortable that way. read more

We have visited the Maison Parisiennne in Lincoln Park twice. The food and drinks have been great and the staff has been very friendly and helpful. This is actually one of my two or three favorite French restaurants in Chicago. read more

Tried the mushroom and asparagus quiche, not a piece of asparagus in any part of it. The mushrooms also made the quiche crust soggy, but the parts of the crust that weren't soggy were phenomenal. The macaroons were out of this world, the perfect texture and full of flavor. Service was great, seems to be short staffed because had to wait a while to place an order while the person at the counter made a few drinks for other people dining it. It's a cute store, wish it was more of a cafe. Not very many seats, one of the couches is covered is art so you can't use it. A big con is no public WiFi. Seems odd that they wouldn't want people to come sit and enjoy a meal and then shop around. I came to see a bit of a Parisian ambience and didn't really get that vibe or feel welcomed to stay. Madison Parisienne is a cute little French cafe in the heart of Lincoln Park. They have a wide variety of authentic tasting of French pastries with a opportunity to wash it down with some quality Joe. The inside of it matches the ambiance of the food! It's comforting, inviting, and home-y. The sandwich we got was not bad! Great cheese, fresh veggies, and a nice Smokey turkey. I do think it was a little expensive for what you get. The croissant the other hand was out of this world. Flakey deliciousness with a nice creamy inside. You order the front and they bring you the food at your table, kind of like how Portillos does it. We did have to remind the front about the croissant , but they brought it out all speedy like. Very nice staff!! Would definitely go again to try more pastries. read more

First time here. Had a ham and Swiss sandwich and a mushroom quiche. Both were great. The service was excellent. Charming restaurant.

The pistachio and almond croissants are absolutely delicious though a bit pricey in my opinion. It's a nice treat every once in a while. The ambiance is cute but also overdone a bit. It feels like you're in a store not just a coffeeshop. $11 (plus tax/tip) for a slice of quiche is too much for me to pay, though the filling options sound interesting. read more

The food is pretty great; unfortunately the workers cannot do basic math and cannot handle refunding money after they have made a mistake in overcharging. I had to figure out the mistake, and then go in multiple times in an attempt to address and correct THEIR mistake. Because they could not figure out how to refund my own money that they had hijacked for a few days, I was forced to take a pastry and coffee home instead of my money that I didn't plan on spending there. Jaw dropping delicious chia tea latte. Best chai tea latte I'be had in awhile. This cafe is adorable, cozy and clean. Dine in or stop in and order your food to go. Got a piece of vanilla cheese cake to go. Flavor was good, but the cheese cake itself had to be one of the driest things I've ever had since I tried the cinnamon challenge as a teenager. Absolutely divine! Everything we ordered was spot on and gave me quite authentic French Bakery vibes. We ordered the following: Butter Croissant (4.5/5): buttery, flakey and gave an incredible illusion of lightness when eaten. Also, get that side of Butter and Nutella to jazz up every other bite. Chocolate Croissant (5/5): this was probably the under-dog. Not your average chocolate croissant. Quality of the pastry and chocolate comes across without even trying too hard. 100% a repeat order. Almond Croissant (4.5/5): better than most I've had since it was flakier than most and not overly doused in the almond cream, nor did I get an aftertaste of artificial almond essence often used by others. Raisin Danish (5/5): again better than most I've had before. Not overly sweet but pockets of sweetness with the raisins and vanilla custard paired absolutely well with the flakiness of the pastry. Le Parisienne (4/5): great and simple. The bread was a little too tough for me but that's what you typically get with a traditional french baguette. The quality of the ham, butter and cheese though was like none other! Lemon Tart (5/5): The lemon curd enclosed in the shortbread crust was a standout. The sweet and sour curd was enhanced by the sweet and slightly salty crust. This was a jewel in the crown. Always going to have this in the cart! Chocolate Mousse Cake (5/5): The quality of the firm chocolate mousse that sat on a thin chocolate bready-crust adorned by the light chocolate glaze was not overwhelming whatsoever which is testament to how great and moreish this dessert was. Very cute interior that drew me in unexpectedly- what's better than some quiche for breakfast after a run. I was excited to try the quiche Lorraine, a staple to judge a French cafe by. Sadly, the texture of quiche's egg custard is tasteless and incorrect. Hardly any ham or Swiss cheese to taste. The crust was okay, but just that. Can't speak for the pastries which I might try at some point. Updating my review of a 1 star now that I tried some of the sweets I bought- a chocolate chip cookie and almond financier. This place is an adorable French eatery/bakery with a nice selection of quiche, baguettes, and pastries! The desserts looked absolutely divine though I didn't get it this visit (tho I will definitely in the next). The avocado baguette was on a pillowy-fluffy- perfectly crispy baguette with ample avocado and cherry tomatoes inside; however I do wish they had salted it a little more or added some extra flavor (though this could've also been my fault for subbing the goat cheese out). The side salad had a mustard-y French dressing which was nice but a lil too much dressing for me. The lavender rose latte did not really have a floral taste to it as much either. Overall though very nice place to chill and hang out with friends on a lazy afternoon. We were staying in the Boystown area and decided to stop in here for a Pastry and coffee before our day. This is a cute little café that has quite a variety of pastries and breakfast items. I got a lavender latte, and it was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The croissants are huge and I really enjoyed the flavor of the almond. We would absolutely come back for a sandwich or more of their pastries, but didn't have enough time this trip. read more

I was looking for a spot to have a sit down lunch and found this place when my usual cafe never reopened in store dining. The first thing I noticed was that dining area is quite large and I felt like I could spread out and not have to sit close to any other customers. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. We enjoyed a quiche, croissant sandwich, lemon bar and topped it off it off with a slice of opera cake. Everything was fresh and delicious and the service was excellent. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the lemon bar as I prefer it to be gooier. I definitely recommend this place for lunch or a quick pastry and coffee to-go. read more

The baguette sandwiches are relatively authentic and (as I noted in a previous review) the croissants are good. But the pricing is rather odd. A $13.00 sandwich should have a sales tax of about 80 cents. But the tax on my sandwich was $1.53. On top of that, they tried to add an additional "service charge" (for what? It was a counter order, and I carried the sandwich home.) Then I added $1.00 for a tip, because the counter person was nice, although, technically, carry-out shouldn't require tipping. So after subtracting the service charge, I ended up paying $15.53 for a $13.00 sandwich. read more
