    French Onion Soup
    Tom G.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I decided on the French Onion Soup and a cup of coffee. The soup was very good, and the broth was spot on. The coffee was super fresh. They give you a few crostini's on the side and cheese on the side to sprinkle on top. Attentive counter person, very airy with plenty of room inside. Perfect for a pastry and coffee.

If you plan on dining in, prepare for a wait. This would be perfect if you're not in a hurry. Maybe you're with a friend catching up over a French meal:) The interior is overall white with floral decor. I didn't have time to peruse the little market section at the entrance area. Looked like a good curated set of goods.

A cute little French breakfast spot with a cozy, charming vibe. The food was fresh and delicious perfect for a relaxing morning.

It's beautiful and a taste of Paris inside with croissants and jams and honey. There's art and pretty decorative French inspired French adornments. Lots of nice tables to enjoy snacks and drinks. The only thing was it was freezing in there on a Saturday afternoon 9/13/2025 it's 74 degrees outside and it felt like 65 degrees in there. They could save energy bills and keep it at 72 degrees bc it's more than comfortable that way.

Tried the mushroom and asparagus quiche, not a piece of asparagus in any part of it. The mushrooms also made the quiche crust soggy, but the parts of the crust that weren't soggy were phenomenal. The macaroons were out of this world, the perfect texture and full of flavor. Service was great, seems to be short staffed because had to wait a while to place an order while the person at the counter made a few drinks for other people dining it. It's a cute store, wish it was more of a cafe. Not very many seats, one of the couches is covered is art so you can't use it. A big con is no public WiFi. Seems odd that they wouldn't want people to come sit and enjoy a meal and then shop around. I came to see a bit of a Parisian ambience and didn't really get that vibe or feel welcomed to stay. They seemed to turn up the music louder to almost force me to leave.

Place is cute and has a nice Parisienne ambience however the cheesecake and cookie was dry and less flavorful. I wonder if the staff could have helped us choose better options.

Croissants were delicious! Service was quite fast. Very cute inside! I ordered a very fresh lemon macaroon that made my life.

Madison Parisienne is a cute little French cafe in the heart of Lincoln Park. They have a wide variety of authentic tasting of French pastries with a opportunity to wash it down with some quality Joe. The inside of it matches the ambiance of the food! It's comforting, inviting, and home-y. The sandwich we got was not bad! Great cheese, fresh veggies, and a nice Smokey turkey. I do think it was a little expensive for what you get. The croissant the other hand was out of this world. Flakey deliciousness with a nice creamy inside. You order the front and they bring you the food at your table, kind of like how Portillos does it. We did have to remind the front about the croissant , but they brought it out all speedy like. Very nice staff!! Would definitely go again to try more pastries.

My turkey day dessert selection, including pistachio macron that could not wait until the photo was taken.

Once you're in its cozy and casual and they operate like a well-oiled machine. Friendly, fast, and furious. There are so many delicious pastries I wanted to try but didn't have enough time. We definitely had to take some home for later and I would do it again, but get even more! The black sesame and ube coconut cold brews were definitely a great way to start. These were perfectly sweetened drinks that hit the spot and satisfied our tummies while we waited for the main events. I would order both again without hesitation. Yum! Ube huckleberry Basque cake - if you're familiar with the Spanish almond tortes, it was very much like that. Crispy outside and dense cake-like inside. The huckleberry balanced out the sweetness of the ube jam. Very nice! Black truffle croissant, one of the best pastries I've had. Filled with Delice de Bourgogne cheese (my fave) and topped with shaved truffles and rock sugar. A very nice play between sweet and savory...but $16! For me, worth the splurge, 100%! Ube coconut ensaymada. I don't care for ensaymada but had to try this one. It's filled with an ube cream and the big difference is that this had a nice crispy crust, soft inside, and no sugary butter "frosting" (which I don't like in a traditional version). Definitely good but I don't have to have it again. Breakfast sandwich with cheddar cheese, soufflé egg, longaniza, and crispy hash brown between a soft sandwich bun. No sauces needed, the flavors stand out themselves. We need to make this at home, guys. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The hash brown adds some nice crisp to what would otherwise be a soft sandwich. If I did it at home I'd skip the hash brown and just crisp up the buns on a fry pan to save some calories, lol. Tocino and longaniza--Perfectly fried egg over garlic fried rice with tocino and longanisa, served with pickled green papaya and garnished with cilantro, mint, and green onion. Leveled up for sure with a higher cut of pork for the tocino, but the longanisa didn't impress at all. It was not packed with the full flavor of a good sweet, tart and spicy longanisa that I know. It was more tame and westernized which I think didn't do justice to Filipino cuisine. Albeit, I will say that I didn't have that longaniza after effect that longaniza eaters know too well-- you know what I mean! Ok, last but not least -- chicken adobo. Had to have this and so glad I did. This was my favorite dish and I'm going to bring some of what I've learned back to the home kitchen. This is sliced chicken thigh. It looks like it was marinated and then grilled, topped with a nicely balanced adobo sauce and smothered with chicken skin palapa (scallion, ginger, toasted coconut), and a side of pickled green papaya. D-freakn-licious! This was definitely leveled up adobo!!! I regretted not having reservations for their fine dining experience during my short Chicago stay.

Street parking can be a bit challenging, but we were fortunate to find a spot less than a block away. As an added bonus, parking was free as it was on a Sunday. The dining room was cozy with an open kitchen, offering a glimpse of the precision and passion behind every plate, under the careful watch of its chef and owner. Hospitality was impeccable!! The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel at home. The service was a performance in itself. Each course was delivered with impeccable timing, like clockwork, as the staff moved seamlessly in sync that reflected the same level of attention to detail found in every dish. The chef and owner has elevated and interpreted Filipino comfort into an art form. Each of the 13 dishes in the tasting menu beautifully and impeccably presented, and thoughtfully composed. Familiar tastes from home transformed and refined into something truly exceptional. All honoring Filipino cuisine and culture. Our dining experience ended with wonderful surprise and expression of Filipino hospitality. Each guest was given a "baon" of delicious and buttery Ube Huckleberry Basque Cakes to enjoy, along with a copy of the tasting menu as a cherished memento of the celebration. This was more than just a meal. It was a memorable culinary journey to home and the perfect way to celebrate 35 years of marriage. Thank you for this remarkable tribute to Filipino cuisine and a dining experience worthy of its Michelin stars. So proud that Chicago has another Michelin-starred restaurant, and even more proud that it is owned and operated by a Filipino chef who is showcasing our cuisine on the world stage. Bravo!!

This is a fast casual spot so service was pretty fast. There is a decent amount of seating, most of which was surprisingly taken around 11am on a Thursday. For starters, they no longer have their rainbow cake! I was surprised to hear that considering how popular it's supposed to be. We got both banana lattes which were extremely sweet. It's basically dessert with a hint or caffeine. I'm a big fan of banana, so I actually liked this but I would've preferred half the sweetness. The Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant was so good! A solid breakfast sandwich - the eggs were cooked perfectly, the turkey bacon was insanely crispy, and that sambal aioli was just what this needed. I highly recommend adding Avocado like I did for some freshness & creaminess since it's a heavy sandwich as is. The Cinnamon Roll was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, I really enjoyed this breakfast!
