The most absurd wait time for a croissant with a wee bit of cheese and a slice of turkey for which after waiting 15 minutes we were told was sitting in a bag in the counter beside the cashier who didn't have the sense to say "your order ready." And we were the only people in the place. Wow! And it was expensive for what it was. And we were prompted and did give a tip for a counter order read more

What others reviewed about the sandwiches is similar to what I also experienced. I can't speak for the pastries or other foods/specialty cafe drinks but the sandwiches were unimpressive for the price. Iced latte and iced coffee were alright but next time I would try a pastry over a sandwich. I liked the ambiance and inside and I thought the staff was nice too. read more

The baguette sandwiches are relatively authentic and (as I noted in a previous review) the croissants are good. But the pricing is rather odd. A $13.00 sandwich should have a sales tax of about 80 cents. But the tax on my sandwich was $1.53. On top of that, they tried to add an additional "service charge" (for what? It was a counter order, and I carried the sandwich home.) Then I added $1.00 for a tip, because the counter person was nice, although, technically, carry-out shouldn't require tipping. So after subtracting the service charge, I ended up paying $15.53 for a $13.00 sandwich. read more

OK so I hate writing this Because I enjoy having coffee outside at Maison Parisienne And ordering a fruit plate or a pastry. But the sandwiches we ordered today were extremely unimpressive and I was a little bit shocked by them. Imagine a sandwich with a nice sized crisp and fairly fresh baguette. Now imagine one very thin slice of what I believe was mortadella and one very thin slice of cheese. Two very thin Slices of tomato and a rather large piece of what appeared to be fresh Romain lettuce. The sandwiches are listed as $11 in their online menu. I don't have my receipt so I'm not exactly sure what I paid. The meat and cheese were essentially nonexistent. We picked the sandwiches up to go as we had a busy day and knew we would be starving. I mean it's pretty sad when you start laughing about the sandwich in front of you and thanking the bread gods for the baguette. Perhaps this was a bad day or somebody made a mistake. Honestly I've never written a review like this for a place that I essentially like but I thought this was really ridiculous. If I was rating this solely for the sandwich I literally would give one star to this restaurant. But I've added the additional star because of the other times I have enjoyed this place. Without the sandwich I would have written a four star review. A response would be appreciated from the business. read more

Cute little bakery that I am glad that I found walking around. It would be a great spot to be able to work at. I ordered the raisin swirl which was delicious but different than most raisin swirls since it has a vanilla custard cream filling. read more

Absolutely awful service. There's is nothing Parisienne about this place. Cheesecake horrible texture and taste. Croissant I can get better I think in Jewel. And my favorite joke of dessert strawberry cake it is a NO The prices are ridiculous. read more

Received a couple cakes from this bakery, and we all loved them! They were finished by Thanksgiving night. Cheesecake with strawberries- 5 Chocolate mousse cake- 5! Certainly will stop in soon to check out more desserts. read more

I got their too good to go bags (basically day old food that they would throw away and you get them at a discount price via the too good to go app). I had the almond croissant and it was delicious!!! The filling and the dough were incredible! My mom loved the pistachio croissant too, but their pistachio & chocolate croissant was mid. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend. read more

Bakery Basket and Flourless Chocolate Mousse Cake? Both delicious. Customer Service? Bad taste in the mouth. This reviewer's spouse ordered the Flourless Chocolate Mouse Cake (serves 8) and the French Bakery Basket via the Uber Eats app from the Lincoln Park Maison Parisienne for this reviewer's birthday on Saturday. In the app, according to this reviewer's spouse, there was a Special Request For The Chef field in which she requested that "Happy Birthday" be written on the cake. There was also an Order Notes field at the end of the order process where she again added her request for a special birthday message. Not only was there a mysterious +$27 charge added to the $55 cake in the payment process, but the cake arrived without any special birthday message. This reviewer's spouse called Maison Parisienne and a team member apologized saying that Maison typically does not write on their cakes, but does include cards with special messages instead. Fair enough; however, this reviewer wonders, where was his special card? The call with the team member having occurred on speaker, this reviewer overheard his spouse asking about the mysterious +$27 charge, and the team member promising to look into it and get back. It is now the end of the working day three days later, and this reviewer's spouse reports no contact. This reviewer's spouse in fine form ended up writing Happy Birthday on his chocolate mousse cake in white writing gel, as all the white icing was sold out at Jewel Osco (It's Gingerbread House season.) read more

Despite all my anticipation and hopefulness for this cute little bistro, for me the place was just average. And for average, was too pricey. I started with the ham and swiss baguette which had a good taste to it, but was nothing special. Nothing but ham and cheese. Added a cappuccino for drink. Again, ok, nothing special. With tip it came to $21. And I left still hungry. Then, it was only after I got home and looked at my receipt, saw that they added on a 3 percent "Service Fee." That is really chintzy. So be warned in advance in calculating any tip. Would I go back? I can't say no, but unlikely. read more

I love this place so MUCH. I live nearby so I am often here enjoying my latest book or working on my laptop over a decaf Americano. Today, I opted for an iced lavender rose latte, which was delicious (although likely a bit too sweet for me to get again). The dessert case is so enticing - I've indulged on macarons, almond cake and cookies with alarming frequency - just so good. The food ranges from salads to sandwiches and tartines, among other things, which I'm so tempted to try at some point when I have more of an appetite, as I know they prepare their dishes with fresh, whole ingredients. The staff is always so pleasant and delightful, and I adore the owners who are so invested and passionate about serving the highest quality, most delicious of experiences to their customers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

It was good. Cute decor. A lot of food for a $20 lunch. I would an wanted a little more flavor to the sandwich and slightly fresher baguette, maybe more butter... something was missing. My Chocolate croissant was Devine. Will go back for more pastries and try with a hot cafe au lait. read more

Maison Parisienne - $20 Daily Special - French Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Well, what a delicious spot for lunch. My quiche was custardy and light. Excellent crust and a decent sized wedge. Salad on the side was simple and perfect. L'avocat sandwich was generous... lots of goat cheese and avocado. Don't forget the sweets! Food came quickly and the bright and clean dining area was a lovely place to linger with icy drinks. read more

The service was nothing special and did not garner more than a 15% tip. We even had to help ourselves to water which is just lazy service. My daughter's latte took 10 minutes to arrive and came out after the food. I'm giving our experience a 4 for food. Interesting choices, large portions and I like that salad came with several of the entrees. read more

This place was so cool and had so many lovely options. My mom got the $25 combo which includes a drink, a soup or sandwich, and a pastry. My favorite Sunday morning light breakfast and coffee spot. If you want to be transported to a café in Paris, this is the place to be! I love their lattes and croissants, as well as their macarons. The interior is nice and bright, which is great for when you need a break from the Chicago winter darkness. read more

Excellent food and excellent service. I ordered one thing and got another. My mistake but was absolutely satisfied with what I received.

went in and ordered a sandwich, a croissant, and a juice for 28 dollars. Right away I was surprised by the price, but was disgusted when my good came on a stale baguette with jewel osco cheese slapped on. this place is such a scam. I will add a picture- I was utterly disgusted read more

Maison Parisienne - Horrible - French Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Small place, plenty of staff and still managed to forget part of our order. Waited patiently and gently reminded them yet it still took a long time for a pre made sandwich. To top it off they asked us to pay again when we finally got it after 50 minutes. As someone who's been in the service industry in the past it was disappointing. No apology or attempt to rectify from the staff. Incredibly mismanaged, over priced, and would not recommend to anyone. Zero stars if possible. read more

Hands down the best croissants I've had in the city, I can't speak to the coffee as I don't drink coffee but if you're looking for traditional French pastries this is the place. read more

The quiche lorraine was fantastic. Just what I needed to start the day. The quiche was just salty enough and I wouldn't change a thing. I still prefer American desserts over French varieties. If you really like New York style cheesecake in particular I'd definitely stick with that over the cheesecake here. That's just a matter of preference and not a reflection on the quality of the food. read more

I've been buying the quiche box (Lorraine, tomato, spinach) for a few years. I cannot emphasize enough how great their quiche is. I've been to France over a dozen times and nothing comes close to this. I've also had their macarons which melt in your mouth. They have great service and next will be buying their cakes. Highly recommend- just a fantastic bakery. read more

Ordered a sandwich with rotten gray and green ham. Would not recommend. Not feeling well currently.

Great French bakery!!! I had a brunch with a friend there. People were social distancing and staff was great. Menu has a white range of options including sets. We love the bakery to go as well. Sometimes they seem a bit understaffed so needed to wait for the a while. Will definitely go back! read more

This place has delicious croissants. Flaky and fresh. I ordered a hot chocolate and there was too much foam (1/3 or more) and it wasn't hot enough. I asked them to remake and it was the same issue. They also screwed up my bill. Restaurant is hard to find. Guy working there was kinda passive aggressive and needs better math skills. read more

Unbelievable pastries. The scones were incredible. What a great way to start the day.

one of the most poorly managed patisseries I've ever been to. They Must pay their staff nothing because there is no sense of professional engagement or even basic courtesy. In fact it's like the counter and kitchen staff are deliberately trying to piss off people because their angry and nobodies watching them. Croissant was awful - stale and lacked even a hint of butter. However the cafe au Latte was very well made and delicious. read more

Very expensive and not good croque monsieur- bad bread, bad cheese, skimpy ham. Won't be back

a sad slice of tiramisu. looked like it was a bit old (they served me a preportioned slice already in plastic shell from the back fridge, not a slice from the glass case). tasted plainly sweet and mushy, no flavor nuance (where's the coffee? alcohol?) or textures of note. maybe their pastries are better, not sure if i have faith in this establishment to try them. read more
