As a bagel lover, I unfortunately have to say this did not do it for me. Rainbow bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. Hate to say it but although there was plenty of bacon, it failed the crispy crunchy test. The bagel was flat and unimpressive, even though it was beautiful. However, I will give them some points for a fried egg (but let's make it runny next time). The other items on the menu look amazing, and I'll admit this was a delivery order, so maybe this would've done better if it was fresh. read more

I ordered a ham cachito and it took 15 minutes to come out even tho they only microwaved it for 30 seconds. It was doughy, and pretty disgusting. They also have no bathroom for paying customers. I had also ordered a decaf americano. They served me a regular americano, too. Will never frequent this place again when I'm in Chicago. Slow, inaccurate, nasty food. read more

I ordered from Klein's for delivery on DoorDash and it arrived swiftly and well packaged. I ordered the "viral tomato soup and bagel" (which I'd actually never heard of before this lol). The tomato soup was delectable; I'd def order it again, creamy, had chunks of tomato. The bagel was fun, very flavorful w tons of garlic and seasoning. We saw this place online and I absolutely had to give it a try! Was not disappointed one bit... so much so that we went here on my birthday and I plan on coming back monthly haha that's how special it was. It's the kind of place that you want to share with all your friends and family. To make it even better, the owners/founds are Venezuelan, have to support mi Latino's. We order two bagels and a Venezuelan version of an empanada. Top tier, both dishes to die for. Loved everything from the service to a nice sunny great day. Top notch atmosphere all around! I live just a block away from Klein's Bakery & Café. Although they've been open for years, it's not a place I visit often--I brew my own excellent coffee and we don't eat many sweets. That said, their blueberry muffins are outstanding and always a treat. When we have guests, I'll stop in to pick up a brownie or a few other pastries, and they're consistently delicious. This review is really about the Yule log I ordered to bring to my family's Christmas Day celebration. I appreciated how easy Klein's made the process: ordering and paying online was simple, and pickup on Christmas Eve was smooth and efficient. The cake was beautifully presented and well packaged. Women owned! We love this! Artsy coffee shop with Venezuelan influence when it comes to both sweet and savory pastries. Counter service was super nice and pleasant. Prices were pretty standard for the area. Most of the time, when I walk by, there is a line out the door, so I was happy to walk by at an odd time! I came here specifically to try the stuffed bagel, which ended up being a little underwhelming for me. I ordered the stuffed bagel and tomato soup combo, and while the bagel was not bad, it did not really stand out to me. The tomato soup, however, really stood out. It had small chunks of tomato instead of being completely smooth, which I loved, and it was very well seasoned and satisfying. I also tried their bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich and wished the bacon had been laid out a bit flatter and more evenly across the bagel, and that the cheese had been melted more. Got the bacon scallion cream cheese stuffed bagel. Best bagel I've ever had. Fluffy and soft the way it should be. Only critique would be it tastes like Italian seasoning and bacon, not really scallion but amazing flavor nonetheless. Only other time I've seen this has been online and they're all in LA. First visit last Thursday. I was visiting Great Lakes and took the train into town to visit the Lincoln Park Zoo. Along my walk I found Klein's Bakery & Cafe so I decided this was a good place to take a break from my long walk. This is a beautiful little cafe with several tables inside. I just ordered an iced Latte and a chocolate chip cookie but they had several great looking pastries to try. The latte and chocolate chip cookie were both really tasty. The staff was nice and friendly. The cafe and restroom were nice and clean. This is a really nice cafe to visit and I will return next time I am in the area. read more

I pass this place everyday on my commute to and from work and finally decided to stop by. I wanted some breakfast but also a little sweet treat so I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and the lemon pound cake. Because the croissant sandwich was made fresh, I ate my pound cake first. I usually don't review places but i'm shocked by how bad every item my friend and I tried was. I can't believe this place exists I actually thought maybe it's a ghost kitchen because of how bad everything was, like 7/11 food quality. The flan was flavorless and rubbery just so gross. The cachito was doughy with barely cooked bacon making this chewy and gross. The tomato soup was watery. The oatmeal raisin cookies were dry and lacking flavor. Also weirdly the brown paper bag the entire order came in and also the small brown bags the sandwiches were in smelled extremely strange/strong I still can't get this smell out of my nose it leached onto the food and was gross. CHECK YOUR CAKE BEFORE EATING!! Very Disappointed and Concerned About Food Safety How on earth did you serve a cake this heavily moldy? It's shocking that something this moldy was even handed to a customer. I recently purchased a cake from this bakery, only to find out after taking a bite that it was completely covered in mold. Thick green and white mold had spread throughout the entire slice, which was clearly visible upon closer inspection. I received no meaningful response or action after bringing the cake back right away. They only voided my cake from whole purchase. They did NOTHING about it. This is not only disappointing but deeply concerning from a food safety standpoint. Selling spoiled food is unacceptable, especially without any accountability. I urge others to check their items carefully and hope the bakery takes this as a serious wake-up call to improve their storage, quality control, and customer care. My stomach feels terrible and my taste bud is off at the moment!! EDITED - Update: After sharing my experience with the bakery, I received a response that, while offering a refund, included the phrase "While I cannot verify what occurred after the product left our premises." I found this incredibly disappointing -- it felt like my honesty and the severity of what happened were being questioned, despite having clear photo evidence and a dated receipt. Mold isn't something that develops in a few hours, and this was not a minor oversight. Consuming heavily molded cake made me physically ill, and instead of full accountability and empathy, I received a gesture that felt more like damage control than sincere concern. I had hoped they would take accountability with genuine concern, but the response I received lacked empathy and shifted blame instead. Recently visited their location in Lincoln Park and was immediately drawn in by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the freshly baked goods. I ordered an iced white mocha and 2 lattes, which had such a cute design, a Cachito (1 turkey, 1 ham), and the viral bagel stuffed with cream cheese, garlic, and parsley. Everything was delicious. I'm from the burbs, so I decided to take some baked goods home. I got the tres leche cake, which had the perfect amount of leche, the pistachio cake was moist, rich, and had the perfect balance of flavors, and my 2-year-old had the macaroons and ate all 3. The iced coffee was nicely flavored, a perfect pairing for my meal. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful, making my experience all the more enjoyable.
