all excellent we drive in from the burbs for there sandwiches owner is wonderful and very accommodating read more

Very good sandwich with excellent bread and warm service! Portions are good and prices are fair. The interior is small and a politician and team were taking up most of the space chatting so that wasn't very conducive to a nice lunch. You also have to go outside and next door to use a restroom. Next time, I'd do take out. read more

Lunch Heroes - Sandwiches Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

YERRRRRRRRR. Literally just go here, you won't regret it. Lunch Heroes is THAT girl. Their dutch crunch bread is top notch, their sandwiches are stacked, every ingredient is fresh, and they got chips for days. It's locally owned and operated too, which immediately steals my heart. It's easy as heck to customize the sandwich online and they have tons of meats, cheeses, and toppings to choose from. Extremely reasonably priced too. The service is just unreal. They are so friendly, attentive, and personable. It's such a cute sandwich shop. I always see a line out the door and now I know why! 100% worth the hype. This place needs even more recognition. This is a really great sandwich place that uses freshly baked bread and fresh ingredients. I recently stoped by and picked up the breakfast sandwich "The Griddler" which can be served vegetarian or with sausage/bacon. I chose the vegetarian version, and it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in Chicago. The eggs were so soft and the flavors of the chive cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, and hot honey created the most perfect bite. I will definitely be back to try some of the regular lunch menu options! read more

Super cute concept. Love all the art that went into creating the space! The food itself was good I would get it again if I was in the mood and in the area but I wouldn't really go out of my way for it. We had the "Butt Kickin' Chicken" and a "Mamma Mia" and both were good. The cookie was super good and I absolutely will be thinking about it. Service was nice :) read more

Really great, fresh sandwiches. I had the Gobbler on gluten free bread and added bacon. The staff was great about my gluten allergy and assured me it was prepared in a separate area without me even asking. They did forget the pickles I had asked for but no big deal! Good ratio of meat, cheese, veggies, and mayo. Would come back. read more

Lunch Heroes - The gobbler on gluten free bread - Sandwiches Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I ordered the Gobbler and it was delicious! The bread stands out as it was perfectly toasted on the outside. They have a nice selection of optional toppings that you can add on to your sandwich ... next time I'll add some arugula for extra texture. It took approx 10 minutes for the sandwich to come out which was very reasonable during the lunch hour. Super friendly people working inside and I like that part of the proceeds are going towards a good cause! read more

Was taking a walk with my friend and we wanted to stop for lunch and stumbled upon lunch heroes! We thought the place looks colorful and fun so we decided to try it! The inside is super hero themed and had comics on the walls which was pretty cool. While they do have some indoor seating They have a few small tables outside so we sat outside since the weather was so nice! I got the 6inch mama Mia which was a great sandwich! First off the sandwich was really large and much bigger than I expected. It was great the bread was fresh and not dry or too crumbly like some can be, the condiments weren't too much or little and the meats were stacked high! I feel the cost was worth the sandwhich! The service was great the girl working the counter was very sweet and helpful! The guy that ended up bringing out our order was super nice and ran back into grab something else we requested. Overall a good place for lunch! read more

The owners and staff at Lunch Heroes are so nice and most importantly amazing public servants. They more than regularly donate meals to people in need throughout the Chicago community. They also are near DePaul so they hire students to work there as well. I have been here twice and really like the sandwiches. I like to take it home and add my own oil and vinegar. The inside of the business is always clean and has some seating as well. If I'm ever in the mood for a big sandwich I go here because I want to support local! read more

Tried LH for the first time today and was blown away by the quality of my sandwich! I had a humble turkey and the bread, and ingredients were just fantastic. Staff is super nice as well. This is the best sandwich shop in Chicago IMHO. read more

I appreciate the idea behind this deli - or what I think it is - which they donate either funds or sandwiches to local schools. As for the sandwiches? I found them to be just ok. I got the chicken salad sandwich and while the salad itself had a unique, fresh flavor, I found out to be pretty bland. If you're looking to eat inside, The seating and space is quite small, and the seeing isn't comfortable (think patio chairs and the tiny patio table). Outside seating is bit more spacious, but same seating. Overall, my visit was just a lackluster experience. read more

I stopped in here to get a sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by how affordable and good the food was. It's a small but cute interior with some seating outside the staff were quick and very friendly. The bread is particularly high quality. And apparently although I haven't looked into it, part of the money goes to charity so that's also cool read more

What a great little find. The owner, Claire, was so awesome. Friendly, kind and they make sandwiches for charity every single day. Besides being great human the sandwich was amazing. Tons of meat and toppings, very fresh and delicious. The ambience of it was whimsical and inviting. What a great addition to the neighborhood. I'll certainly be back. read more

One of the Best sandwiches in Chicago, fresh ingredients with unbelievably perfect Dutch crunch bread.

Best quick lunch spot in LP by a mile. Super nice workers, fresh ingredients, and great mission. Plus, I have celiac and they've been great about answering questions about their preparation methods for allergies and serving up a great sandwich. Seriously one of my favorite GF subs I've ever had, I have to imagine the non GF one is even better! read more

Came to try San Francisco's famous Dutch crunch bread. Let's just say it did not disappoint. The store has a fun superhero theme, but is very small. Also, the staff were so friendly. Went with the butt kickin' chicken as it was calling my name. The bread was the best sandwich bread I've ever had. It was light, airy, and fluffy with the crunch on top providing a great textural contrast that didn't take away from the softness. The chicken salad wasn't too wet like a lot of places, but could have been tastier. I couldn't really taste the hot honey or Calabrian chili. Lastly, the veggies were spot on with just the right amount. I wish the bread was sold by itself as it alone will make me want to come back. And after speaking to the owner, next time I will try their sausage breakfast sandwich as it comes on an everything bagel seasoning Dutch crunch. Overall, super solid sandwich shop but a tad pricy. read more

Generous portions in delicious sandwiches made on Dutch Crunch bread with a firm crust and just right soft texture inside. You can't miss with the Mama Mia Italian Hero but be sure to try others. The breakfast sandwich is unbelievable, and you can customize it like everything else. All the Heroes I have tried are very tasty and an excellent value. The Owners are always there it seems and they and the staff are very friendly. In addition, they provide a healthy lunch to a kid in need for every sandwich they sell. And if you have a dog, they have treats available at no charge! read more

5/5 no notes But you want notes. We got two Italian sandwiches with a few differences including but not limited to giardinera, banana peppers, onions, etc. The meat to filling ratio was perfect. The bread was not too soft, not too crusty, and had a nice sweetness to balance it out. The moist Ness ratio was perfection. My only desire was for slightly more red wine vinegar to shine. This place is so good, I prefer it to the bigger name stores in Chicago land (baris, jp, etc.) I'll be trying the other flavors soon! read more

My second time at Lunch Heroes, and this time I tried the Butt Kickin' Chicken Sandwich. They have an interesting blend of spices that I couldn't put my finger on, but it was good, and they give you a good portion to boot. They have a good selection of sandwiches, including a "Veggie Sandwich." I'm going to try the "Beefy Beast" next time. All the workers are very knowledgeable about the menu items; they'll get you in and out in no time. If you're near the Fullerton "L" stop, try them; you won't be disappointed. read more

I love this place and for more than one reason. They are amazing. I love how they not only service with the community but also have a cause that selflessly follows along with it. To be so genuine about the youth as well as serving others, to me, makes a small business so successful and admirable especially coming from someone who ran a non-profit before. And yes, first hand the sandwiches are as amazing as they look. Awesome establishment. read more

Excellent food! Best sandwiches hands down. Love the crusty bread. They take pride in making what they serve and do so with a smile :)

We have been following Lunch Heroes on social media for quite some time and have been looking forward to their opening in the LP neighborhood! We tried the Mama Mia and The Gobbler and both were delicious! There is a generous amount of meat, cheese, and veggies. The bread is really unique and delicious, it is a little more baguett-ey than a sub bread that we have had previously. We also tried the chocolate chip cookie which was FULL of chocolate and super yummy - a big hit with the kiddos. We love the mission of them donating a hero to a kid in need of lunch. Service was great and ordering at the counter was easy and quick. Ambience wise, my kiddos love the mural of the "heroes". We will definitely be back! read more

Outstanding sandwich on really great bread. Veggie sub was stacked with veggies and mozzarella cheese. Great crunch, which is important in a sub sandwich. Its mission to help feed young people in need, puts it over the top. Please support Lunch Heroes. (They did not pay me to say this) read more

It was our office's first time ordering from Lunch Heroes, and it will not be the last. Fresh ingredients make for great tasting sandwiches! Quality new sandwich shop in the neighborhood. The portions are large. The food is good. It is priced fairly. Some sales go to charity. Ordered online. Service was quick and staff was friendly when I picked up my lunch. Highly recommend the Butt-Kickin' Chicken spicy chicken salad. I added banana peppers. So tasty!
