Super friendly staff, quick and attentive service, clean and casual environment, with really great food and octopus decor. The pizza, cookie dough, Philly steak, and breaded shrooms were all good

I've had a sandwich and a wrap here--both good. Very fun casual spot for a quick and easy bite

It's nearby so I love the accessibility in an area with limited lunch options. My favorite thing from them is the gyro and hummus, with comes out to about a $20 meal with drink. Service is always good and relatively quick. And you can order ahead online if you're in a time crunch. It's been a little while since I've gone but the inside looks like they are updating it, since it looked cleaner and I'm pretty sure they got some new tables - it's nice to see a restaurant doing well enough to keep it going like this! It's well deserved and worth going to and easy to take home and still be delicious

Stopped here for a snack after walking around in Lincoln Park. Very friendly environment with a huge menu and fast service. It was easy to grab a table inside. It was my second time trying a Chicago hot dog and I enjoyed it though I had to ditch some of the jalapeños because it got too spicy for me. I ended up leaving my purse there by accident and didn't even realize it until one of the girls who works there ran out and returned it to me at the bus stop - SO kind and I was so happy she caught it before I left. I'll never forget this! Thank you so much!

My daughter and stopped by to grab a slice of pizza after leaving Lincoln Park Zoo. There's about 5 tables and a small counter with stools to dine in. We order the jumbo slices (which are huge), drinks and mozzarella sticks. Again, the portion sizes are huge so you definitely get your money worth.

Great local restaurant for pizza, hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, gyros, and wraps. The staff are very nice and my order was ready within 5 minutes. There are three tables with 4 chairs each and a little bartop area near the windows. I got the hot dog combo and my friend got the pizza--both were good. Another person got the Philly cheese steak and said it was very good.

Food: 9/10 Went here after a trip to Zoolights. I got a 14' half cheese half sausage pizza and some cheese fries. Cheese fries were toasty and had a generous amount of cheese on top. Pizza was well seasoned. It was the right amount of greasy, cheesy, and floppy!!! Service: 8/10 Pizza took about 20 minutes to be made. Could be faster. But the staff were really nice and gave us our fries first even if the pizza wasn't ready yet. Ambiance: 9/10 It's a cute spot! There is a huge picture of their "angry octopus" everywhere inside and outside of the restraint.

    Buffalo Wrap with Grilled Chicken

Fun little neighborhood spot with lots of character and lots of options! Seriously the menu is huge, it was hard to decide what to get. Sadly, I think I might've chosen poorly. I got a the buffalo chicken wrap, and it was nothing to write home about. Buffalo Chicken Wrap: 2/5 Very small portion, and barely had any chicken in it. There was a lot of flavor, but almost too much, with the buffalo drowning out pretty much everything else in the wrap. Their specialty seems pretty clearly to be pizza and burgers so honestly not sure what I was thinking ordering this. Menu is so extensive it had me overwhelmed, and I think I panicked! I will say, it was only 10 bucks, which is a pretty good deal for lunch these days, but I was still kind of hungry after so not sure if the price moved the needle for me too much. While the buffalo wrap was somewhat lacking, the service and the overall vibe of the restaurant was awesome, and is bumping the rating up at least a star. Lots of really cool art on all the walls, and the staff were super friendly. Really liked the old school feel to the place, from their pictures of customers on the wall, to hand writing your order number on a sticky note, just overall felt very welcoming and nostalgic. Would like to come back here and give it another chance. Will be ordering one of their specials next time/ asking the staff for a recommendation!

Just found my new favorite wing place! I really like the texture of the coating on the wings and enjoyed the pleasant and strong lemon taste for the lemon pepper flavor. Was originally wanted to order the dipped Italian Beef, but might ended up saying Italian Sausage instead. The sandwich wasn't very impressive - the dipped sausage was overly dry. They didn't give an option re how wet the dipping should be. Order in person during weekday lunch hour also ended up with an extremely long wait - about half an hour. Definitely going back for the wings, but will learn the lesson to order ahead of time.

We had plans to go to oven grinder but due to a time crunch we ended up walking over to angry octopus instead. My husband and I did a little lunch double date and all of us got pizza! Our friends got pepperoni slices and my husband and I shared a cheese pizza, we all got garlic bread. Didn't have to wait super long for the pizza. It's thin square cut which I really enjoy but don't eat as often as other pizza styles! It was kinda greasy but otherwise very very delicious. Crispy crust and good cheese to sauce ratio. The garlic bread was good too, didn't have cheese or anything to dip it in but it didn't really need it! Pricing was not terrible for all that we got. Glad we had the opportunity to try it out!

Loved the overall casual feel. Good solid food cooked to order. Gyros, Philly cheesesteak and fries. Hit the spot. Solid food. Helpful staff. The locals obviously love it here and I can see why.

Affordable and flavorful Indian food (4/5 Green Stars)…read moreBombay Eats began as Bombay Wraps in 2010 and has just completed a name-change and rebranding. Considering the old name, I ordered wraps, figuring they do them well - and they did! I ordered the cheese paneer wrap ($6.99) and the potato cauliflower wrap ($6.49) to go and they were assembled fast in front of my eyes. The server explained that the mild sauce was a 3/10 while the spicy was 7/10, so I went with the mild and I'm glad I did as it had a bit of a kick! The wraps (choice of paratha or whole wheat roti) themselves are delicious and the spicy fillings are nicely balanced with some shredded cabbage/lettuce. For $17 including tax + tip it was a lot of food - a large dinner for one or lunch for two. I highly recommend Bombay Eats for quick flavorful Indian street food and will visit again when I (hopefully) make it back to Chicago. I want to try all of their "messy" sides next. Messy sweet potato fries, topped with paneer, tikka masala sauce, chutney & fresh cilantro? Yes please! I'm also rating Bombay Eats 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Bombay Eats seems to be a well-loved by locals and the owners are known as a decent people. * They have a Bombay Cares program where they participate in fundraisers. Coming up in June - the Alzheimer's Association. * A good spot for vegans and vegetarians. The website has a nice guide (vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, Halal, etc.) to each component (wrap, filling, sauce, etc.) so everything's clear. * The biggest thing that Bombay Eats could do for the planet is to stick with chicken as the main meat offering and ditch the beef and lamb. The environmental footprints (carbon, land, etc.) of beef and lamb are more than10 times higher than those of chicken. It would be nice to see seitan or other plant proteins instead of the beef and lamb. * Packaging for my wraps was fairly minimal: foil-coated paper and a small paper bag.

I added rice, lettuce, and pickled onions. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. At. At checkout, I forgot that I had also so ordered a roti, and that it hadn't been put in the bag yet, so I left. As I started walking down Ohio Street, I heard a woman loudly shouting that I forgot my bread. I stopped and saw the employee calling to me to come back. I did, and they apologized for the mistake; so did I. I wish I had gotten the woman's name because she really went above and beyond, and I truly appreciate that she called me back. The China Masala itself was delicious, but I found the rice to be a bit dry. Also I wouldn't have paired it with the lettuce and pickled onions even though they tasted good on their own. The roti, however, seemed dry to me. Top-notch staff here! If I lived in the area, I would definitely come by again.

They still have a 1990s menu, but with 2026 prices. (Honestly on the low side for 2026.) Notable: Cocktails are $10. We didnt have any, but $10 is looking like a very good deal these days. Fried pickles came recommended. On one hand they weren't greasy and the breading stayed on. On the other hand, they really lacked flavor. Like almost no discernible flavor, and the breading was on the thick side. Wouldn't get them again. If I eat fried pickles, I want them to taste at least a little pickle-y. Happy to see that the "salad bar" is now a thing where you order a custom salad with a little sheet and a golf pencil and don't have to march around the room with a plate and make your own salad. We split an entree salad and a buffalo chicken wrap. The salad was very good, and exactly as ordered. The pico de gallo we ordered with it had no heat. Heat would have been nice, but maybe the giardinara would have neen a better option for us. The wrap was pretty good. Buffalo sauce was on the sweet side. They split the wrap order for us without us having to ask for it and gave us each an enormous mound of fries. Shoestring style fries that accommodates fans of McDonald's fries. We had to take most of the wrap home and found it worked even better chopped up on a salad for dinner. With extra hot sauce. I kept getting the feeling at RJ Grunts that the menu is skewed toward children's tastes. Or just homogenized. It used to be a pretty big tourist destination. And the food wasn't bad; it just wasn't incredible. The service, however, was incredible. From the moment we walked in, we were engaged warmly with a clear focus on customer satisfaction. Especially for how busy it was, our server was hugely attentive to detail and never seemed rushed or made us feel rushed. The next time we're in the area, we will probably be back. Even though the food didn't blow us away, they make it just incredibly easy to eat there.
