In the end, my boyfriend and I both ended up ordering the banhnini, a bahn mi panini. Both of our sandwiches came with chips as part of the meal. The bahnini was overall was very tasty. It had a nice mix of fresh pickled veggies and fresh cilantro on it, which helped cut through heavy meat and cheese on the sandwich. The only thing I didn't like about the sandwich was how spicy it was due to the slices of jalapeños (with seeds!) that were added to the sandwich. It's important to note that I am a bit sensitive to spice so I had to pull the slices of pepper off to make the sandwich edible. My boyfriend, however, enjoys spicy food and found the peppers to be a nice addition. The sandwich also had a good sauce on it that added good flavor as well. Our food came out within 10 mins of ordering and was hot. There were not many seats available in the area around the restaurant but that is understandable as it is more of a take away/ to-go place. Our overall experience was positive. The staff was friendly. The food was fresh, tasty, and fast. The reason for 3 stars was for lack of rice for the curry. However, when I got home and checked the replacement, I realized they had given me ANOTHER Honey Ham instead of the Hook sub I originally ordered. At this point, I had now been given the wrong sandwich twice, and I still didn't receive what I actually paid for. I understand mistakes happen, but having so many things wrong with one order is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to call the store, go back to get my food corrected, and still end up with the wrong sandwich after everything. The customer service in trying to fix the initial issue was appreciated, but the lack of accuracy with the order was extremely frustrating. I paid for food that I did not receive, and the whole experience was a waste of time and money. I hope the store takes more care when preparing orders because this was unacceptable.

My Dining Experience at Mai's Deli in Appleton was NOT PLEASANT. I pulled a STRING from my throat while eating a spring roll. I called for the person in charge of the restaurant and he said "If you swallowed that string it won't hurt you" He didn't even acknowledge the fact that I choked on that string and what the outcome could have been. His uncaring words are very concerning and the food they serve. I realize he can't change what happened to me but the LEAST he could have done was reimburse me the whole meal $12.25 when I asked He said no, he offered the price of that spring roll ($4.00),but I didn't accept. read more

This place has these stuffed chicken wangs (yes, they're that good that I have to use the hood version of spelling Wings) that are out of this world. No lie these are the best stuffed wings I've ever had. Any time I see them on a menu somewhere I order them hoping they'll be as good as at Mai's and I always fall asleep in a pool of my tears because nowhere holds a candle to this place. I just love Mai's stuffed chicken wings. If you like spicy, get the spicy sauce. It's the best. I had another dish, forget which one, and it was the hottest thing I've ever eaten. Way too much and I like very hot. Their stuffed wings are one of my favorite meals. read more

I will remember to ask for more spice on return trips. The eggrolls were flavorful but reminded us of taquitos. There were 3 in the order, which seemed a bit skimpy for the price. In some cases, even without the benefit of half stars, I'll grade up. I didn't in this case. I was told what I owed upon ordering. I paid with bills requiring change to be made. Instead of making change, I was asked "do you want change?" The answer is yes. I understand it is the idea of them keeping it as a tip.
