I found my first car as a student here, negotiated to price i wanted, took some time but worked out pretty well.

Let me save you time, money and headaches... The absolute worst thieves and dishonest people I have ever dealt with. it starts great because they're so fantastic and trained in lying... purchased my vehicle out of province at the end of august and was supposed to be delivered September long weekend. it never showed up. they told me that the delivery driver got busted with no license and the vehicle was impounded For a week. We'll get back to that because that clearly wasn't the case... once it was 'out of the impound' a week later they said they forgot to book a new delivery driver for me. Yes in the meantime I got a loaner vehicle from another location that was a piece of garbage and was sure it was going to break down on me. I informed them of the issues but they didn't care and said keep driving it. The next week (going into the 3rd week now) they said they noticed something wrong with the front bumper and were replacing it... another week goes by and more excuses. I had to threaten to call the RCMP and report the vehicle stolen seeing as I had signed the paperwork and it was insured in my name and they were refusing to deliver it. It ended up on the road immediately But delivered with scratches all over it. I sent pictures to the dealership and that went ignore. Got my OPI done and within seconds of my mechanic starting the inspection, he saw it had severe damage behind the new front bumper... clearly this is why it was taking so long to deliver and all the hoses and shutters behind the bumper were just zip tied and so I sent more pictures to them and they responded by saying to send them the quote to fix it. I sent them the quote and again that went ignored. I called my lawyer and he said non disclosure of damage or accidents is illegal so I passed that on to the dealership. He then tried to blame the body shop saying that the shop didn't tell them there was damage. Clearly the accident wasn't on CarFax because they didn't go through insurance so don't believe the CarFax report. I asked for a invoice for the new bumper and any 6 year old could've made that up on the computer. I googled the 'body shop' it doesn't exist.. I've barely had the vehicle 2 months and just found out after our dump of snow that my AWD is f***cked up. Yes I got the extended warranty.... DO NOT BUY THAT WARRANTY FROM THEM! Get your own somewhere else. As much as my mechanic would love to help me, he won't deal with that company. Good luck trying to get in touch with the actual owner of Mainland Motors. You can only find his name (Manny Jawanda) but no way to contact. He's probably just sitting back laughing at every fool that buys off of them. *Preface: Mainland Motors will not find me in their records as I am not a customer. The following is my experiences dealing with Frank Sundram in sales and Alex Thorne in finance in regards to the dealership showing interest in purchasing my 2017 Nissan Rogue SV AWD 7 seater. *10/21 - Frank (Frank's Deals on Wheels) works for Mainland Motors and they are interested in purchasing our vehicle. Frank tells us that the process is easy - They prepare all the paperwork, come out to our house, test drive the vehicle and we're given a bank draft with an amount from a pre-accepted offer and then they take the vehicle from our residence. We double check that they will come out to us (so we don't have to drive from Chilliwack to Surrey). Frank assures us that they will. We tell Frank we will think about it. We like how easy and convenient it all sounds. *10/22 - We call Frank come to an agreement for a sale price. Frank is eager and would like to set up a pick up time ASAP. We send Frank information, including VIN#, etc. We are made aware that a lien from previous financing is still present on the vehicle and that it needs to be cleared before we can proceed. *10/25 - Lien release paperwork is sent to Frank. We inquire when they would like to come to Chilliwack, as promised. We are told that they do not have a "lot boy" currently and cannot come out. We are asked to bring our vehicle to Surrey to complete the transaction and the dealership offered to pay for an Uber for our return to Chilliwack (so we didn't have to bring two vehicles into Surrey).We decline the offer and remind Frank that it was agreed upon initially that the dealership would come to us in Chilliwack. We would not have accepted the offer otherwise as we have zero desire to spend 2+ hours round trip travel time (commute only).We are told they will set something up for the next day. *10/26 - After phone calls back and fourth, we are again asked to drive in to Surrey to complete the transaction. We again decline and remind Frank that we only accepted this deal because of its initially offered/promised convenience. We are told Frank will "get right back to us." A few hours pass and we have not heard anything. We call Frank around 5pm to find out if they are still making an effort to complete the transaction as they had originally promised. We hear Frank say "It's Jared E_____s" and then we hear an angry voice in the background (Alex Thorne) say "YEAH, I STILL WANT IT. IF HE'LL TAKE A F*CKING REGULAR CHEQUE." And then the phone is taken by Alex and we get the fake "Hello, my friend" etc etc. Alex, again, in full salesman mode, discusses how busy he is, how he is short staffed but that he will make it happen. He will send someone out to Chilliwack as long as we are okay with a business cheque (AKA The "F*cking regular cheque" when he thought we couldn't hear). After a lot of "my friend" on Alex's end (and claiming we could complete the transaction and "leave as friends"),we made a plan for pickup on Thursday (10/28) at 11:30am. *10/28 - Frank was supposed to leave Surrey at 10:30am to arrive in Chilliwack at approximately 11:30am.12:15pm comes around and no one has come. We see we missed a call. Alex, obviously eating while he was speaking over the phone, tells us that he just arrived at work and that he has no one to pick up the vehicle (again, commenting on how busy he is and how he is short staffed).We remind Alex that we are being made aware of this 45 MINUTES past the time someone was supposed to have arrived at our home. We took the day off work for this. Alex is unapologetic. Alex wants us to drive the vehicle into Surrey. We, for the umteenth time, decline. We let Alex know that this needs to be sorted out by day end or we are walking away from the deal. Alex says he will speak to the owners and sort it out. *We never heard back from Frank or Alex after that. *We sold our vehicle to another dealership tonight (within an hour) and it was an easy, stress-free transaction, unlike our experience with Mainland Motors. read more

I would have given them 0 stars if i could these guys are the worst they don't care if you are student they try to rip you off as much as possible first of all the cars prices are higher than other places so they can bring down if you wanna negotiate then they charge bullshit finance and other fees and they force you into buying an expensive warranty. The sales person (Anmol) told me that I would not get approved for financing if i don't buy it i keep on denying but they keep forcing me and using a lot of tricky sales tactics (like first making you sign insurance documents etc) so i gave up. Later on my friends told me i can cancell the warranty so i went back alot of times to cancel but they keep on delaying it and the warranty they sell (global warranty) is a scam in itself. They are not giving me a prorated refund which is the industry standard of extended warranties. After reviewing the warranty company i found out that they are not even covering and denying the claims of many people. The warranties cost me 4000$ at this point I'm exhausted depressed and don't know what to do anymore as 4000 plus interest is a lot of money as an international student. These guys don't have any empathy for you. This was my first time buying car i am very disappointed. I might consult with a lawyer to see what I can do and maybe file in small claims court. But learn from my experience guys don't ever go there and be smart when financing just ask your bank who knows you might be pre approved for loan. read more
