Had my 1982 Pontiac trans am transmission re-built at their former Langley city location. Still running perfect after 26 years.

I had my car in for a transmission flush. Within 45 minutes of dropping it off I get a text telling me my rear shocks are gone and my car is unstable. They sent me pictures of my rear shocks with the upper cover in bad condition but the metal shaft is clean and no fluid is leaking, the seal is good. Because I am a woman, I learnt to stick to my guns and ask them just to do the transmission flush as I am going to do a long drive in a few weeks and I will be pulling something. His answer was that if it was him, he would change the rear shocks and he was able to get me parts at a good price. My gut feeling kicked in and I told him to just leave it and that I was going to get my car checked by BCAA before leaving anyways. So off I go to BCAA to make sure all is fine and that they did their job and did not touch anything else. My car comes back with flying colors, a few minor things, rear shocks are FINE!!! yes the cover is wearing off but the shocks are working perfectly no need to change them!!! SO, NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE. I was so frustrated that they tried to up sale me. To say that I went there because my regular mechanic did not feel comfortable doing the flush on my car as it is a Premium model... Don't go to Mister Transmission, they they tried to up sale me on something that did not need done. read more

They get the job done quickly, but that's where the positive experience ends. After paying nearly $4000 for a clutch replacement, my vehicle now shifts rougher than ever, and the check engine light came on for the first time shortly after I picked it up. I returned to the shop and witnessed one of their senior staff members struggle to drive a standard transmission--stalling at a stop sign, over-revving, and making rough shifts. They just excused themselves and dismissed the issues. Now, a month later, I'm dealing with a transmission problem that wasn't there before, particularly when driving in 5th gear. Do yourself a favor and don't trust these people with your vehicle. read more

Thanks to Frank & Randy for their perseverance to see the job done. They rebuilt my transmission in Nov 2023, but it failed within the 1 year warranty. It took a lot of work to find the root problem, valve body & control module, even sent my vehicle to their Maple Ridge shop for a 2nd set of eyes, but they made good on the warranty. read more

I had an intermittent rough shift and it looked like it was skipping second gear. Eventually the vehicle lost forward movement completely. Mister transmission fixed that latter symptom for a substantial amount of money but the intermittent rough shift remained. I came back a couple of weeks later but it looked like they were not interested to help. The problem was intermittent, they could not see it right away and they were not willing to investigate. And they were not even able to suggest something that makes sense. Bottom line - they may be able to fix something obvious. But if you have complications after their repair - you are on your own. I am not going to use their services again and would not recommend to anybody else. read more

Con Alert! Provided unnecessary transmission service for $1860 plus tax. The service did not fix the diagnosed problem with the transmission, cause transmission was not a problem. Gave false statements to BBB where the whole story is described in detail. Did not provide allegedly replaced parts as agreed in advance. Tried to get more money than quoted. This shady operation gives low-ball quotes and later tries to milk customers for extra parts, explaining that they are not part of the quote. Either it is a inside part, an outside part or a other random part. I have heard many people complaining about such up selling from this business. Master manipulator, great excuses! Make sure which parts are not included in the quote in advance, or you are in for a ride. People don't necessary leave bad reviews because they worry about the warranty, which is not franchise wide. read more

Went in later in the afternoon and asked if they could check and confirm what I suspected as a minor leak; they were extremely helpful and friendly. confirmed my suspicions and had the part available the next morning and my car back on the road later that afternoon. I always laugh when people complain about repair work that is required & the cost associated with it. I think people often forget that cars are complicated machines & transmission work can be the most costly repair you'll do. I went into this location and was not surprised at all about my $4400 bill. I knew any full transmission work would be expensive and I don't think they overcharged at all. The owner, Frank, didn't even charge me labour to replace my spark plugs. (Something I requested after the initial repair quote.) I had a completely pleasant experience and would recommend this location to anyone else needing work done.
