Very good food and service! We enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and the onion rings. The blueberry lemonade and the blueberry balsamic was a treat. Great ambiance with live music that evening.

I had such a great experience here with my family and friends! The staff was all super friendly and helpful, the food came out really quickly, and I loved the atmosphere. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was the best pulled pork I've ever had! I love that they give two different options for your barbeque sauce - sweet or spicy. Even the root beer they had was sooo good! This was my 2nd time here and I will definitely be back again!!!

Mainely Meat restaurant offers a mouthwatering selection of smoked bbq meats that are tender and flavorful. The pulled pork melts in your mouth, while the ribs have the perfect balance of smokiness and sweetness. The sides, especially the baked beans are equally impressive. The casual atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. There's also a good selection is craft beers from the local Atlantic Brewery which pairs very well with the food. The food portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. Overall, a must-visit for BBQ lovers when visiting Bar Harbor, Maine.

One of my favorite meals in Bar Harbor!! We went to the mini golf and saw Mainely Meats across the street. We realized it was closed on Tuesdays, but after a quick Google search, we were happy to find that its sister location was just a few miles further up the road and was open every day! There's plenty of free parking in their gravel lot. We got there right at 11:30am when it opened and were the third party in line. I only saw outdoor seating. Tables started filling up really fast and they were short-staffed, but our food came within 10ish mins of ordering! The ribs were AMAZING. The meat fell right off the bone. The half rack was a great appetizer for the three of us. We also got the pulled pork sandwich and the Cubano and they were sooo good! Even the bread alone was buttery and yummy. The potato salad side was very potato-heavy and needed some barbecue sauce for flavor. We also got the blueberry cider which wasn't super sweet or blueberry-forward, but we still enjoyed it. Each table had a big bottle of brown sweet barbecue sauce and orange spicy sauce which tasted like Tabasco sauce. We mixed both sauces on everything and it was delicious! We had friendly service and I wish we had more time to come back again to try the sampler!

Great spot if you love meat. With their clever name and variety of meats, you're bound to enjoy it here. It features a memorable location with nice vibes. They have something going with Atlantic Brewing which seems to work well. We were all hungry after walking around the pretty gardens, so we had to go with the Max Plate. The 4 of us, who can eat a lot, couldn't finish it. The servings are generous and filling. The pulled pork and the potato salad stuck out to me. Hope to return next time we're in the lovely area.

Cuban! It has pulled pork y'all!

I don't always order Cuban sandwiches but I've been here many times and have always enjoyed the brisket and ribs. I wanted to try something new. Doug's Cuban with pulled pork AND ham on Texas toast is the best! Now, blueberry lemonade is as common as lobster on MDI. I wasn't expecting to be wowed but I was. Warning: it is sweet! But so good. This is a well established restaurant, didn't think the business really needed another good review. But I have to give credit where credit is due. Thank you, Doug. Whoever you are.

Smoked meats on the same footprint with the Atlantic Brewing Co and a playground?!?! Marriage made in smoked meat heaven.... brewery and a smoker adjacent to one another. We've recommended this place to fellow Pennsylvanians for years and everyone comes home agreeing this place is great. Casual. Fun. Off the beaten path.

Bah Habah Blueberry Ale was surprisingly good. You can smell blue berries/beer. Why not try it, you're in Maine. Hubs had the Blueberry Soda which was not too sweet- pretty good! I had the pulled pork dinner plate. The beans and corn bread was perfect. Tasted different than the BBQ bean I usually have. The potato salad was a little bland but good with some BBQ sauce. Hubs had the wings and like other yelpers loved them. They were so good he had another order of them. Meat was falling off the bones and flavored perfectly. I had the beans and corn bread again. The sampler looked freakin good on other people's tables. Could have gotten that but didn't think I could finish it. They have the Max Plate which is he sampler but for 4 people. That looked huge! Service was average. Nice waitress, food came out fairly quick.

Very good barbecue. Fair prices and generous portions. Love the fact that you can get good drinks here, for both kids and adults alike. We got the big mess of food, the Max or something, and it was delicious. Wish that this place had French fries as that would have made for a nice balance of crunch and yumminess. The sides offered were good but the fries were and felt missing. The other Mainely Meats a few miles away offers French fries, unusually enough. My biggest complaint is that brisket was not on the menu. I'm not a Texas guy but I expect brisket when I come to a BBQ joint.

Ya'll...this may come as a shock to you...but this had to be one of the most tastiest meals I had while I vacationed on Mount Desert Island for a week. Yes, I realize I'm in seafood haven. This was top notch bbq though. I got the Sampler Platter so I got a taste of their pulled pork, ribs, chicken, and sausage. The ribs were almost crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The chicken was super flavorful and moist. The sausage had a great, unexpected kick of spice to it. The most "ordinary" rendition was the pulled pork. I loved that nothing was smothered with bbq sauce, so all the smoky flavors and herbs had the opportunity to shine (with a bottle of bbq sauce offered on the side). It was a huge meal considering it came with potato salad (ok so it was a little odd with mustard or something like that in it), coleslaw (yum), beans (double yum), and corn bread (triple yum). A decent menu for beers too. Keep in mind this is a super casual place. We sat in the larger tent area and other the inside space is pretty small. Still full service. Pretty attentive. Very friendly. This is on the top of my return to list whenever I'm back in the area.

I would have liked to sit outside on their cute patio, but it was full and the hostess said it would be a long wait, so we decided to eat inside. At first she directed us to a table in the bar but realized it was very loud (music and patrons) so offered to seat us in the other inside section. We had a view of a bocce match and the patio--definitely better than the bar, but not as nice as the patio. They were playing classic rock and the people at the table next to us asked to turn it down, and they were accommodated, which made for a nicer experience for us as well. The falafel wrap and Banh Mi (v) were very good and the chips can be substituted for a house salad or fries, which we did. The dressing was light and I enjoyed it. The highlight of the experience at Lompoc was dessert. Although there was nothing vegan on the dessert menu, our server suggested an "off the menu" rhubarb raspberry sorbet, which was excellent! And doesn't it enhance the experience when you feel like they're letting you in on something special?! I'd definitely return and try to get there early (4:30) to be able to sit outside.

The staff is always exceptionally kind and forthcoming with their opinions on the food which makes it known they genuinely enjoy it too. The last time I was here I got the bang bang chicken and was able to even get the spicy sauce in the side so I could control my spice level. The true winner for the night was a chocolate carrot cake from a local bakery in town. It was decadent yet well balanced and a hefty portion that I would have regretted if I finished entirely. This place has a unique vibe compared to all the other spots in Bar Harbor and has something for everyone. Do not miss this place when in town.

We requested to sit by the window to have my birthday lunch and loved watching the sun set over the water. This is in a prime spot right by the wharf and has a gorgeous view of the water by the windows, but has a great bar and more seating in the back. Menu is huge with sandwiches, fish, pizzas, salads, etc. We went with the warmed brown butter lobster roll and a margarita pizza add sausage. My husband is a pizza guy - has it like 5x a week - so he's picky. He loved this pizza and said it was really top tier. I also thought it was very good - crust and toppings all great and cooked well. Sometimes margarita pizzas are runny due to less cheese/sauce ratio but this one was good and crust was yummy. The lobster roll was a different way to have it - I usually have it in the mayonnaise sauce chilled, this one was warmed up with brown butter on a delicious bun. Very good. They have 3 different lobster rolls on the menu to satisfy whatever the craving/need. For desset - we chose the chocolate death parfait. It was SO good. Not something I would usually get bc it was so heavy - but we were in town for my birthday so, treat yo self! Layers of chocolate cake, dense white marscapone cream and chocolate mousse with caramel and toffee chunks. Yeah, sign me up for that. Don't forget to visit their gift shop directly underneath and off to the side - it's huge! It actually has far more than the standard cup and t-shirt or hat. Expect loads of gifts and souvenirs and some awesome t-shirts. We got more than a few things in this surprise shop. 100% recommend this place.
