It was really good food. The only thing that bothered me was that they couldn't change the game on the tv near us.

I come here with my family about once a month the food is pretty consistent in tastes every time I have been here.. I love the smoked Gouda burger the hornet , black Jack as well as the broccoli bites there always warm and welcoming especially with the kids.. we even attend there kids brunches they do with character 's a family favorite. read more

Service is and always has been great- 5/5 to them, especially the bar staff. But the kitchen cleanliness needs to get with it. This is the third time I have bit into meat in my vegetarian portabella wrap. The first time I just ate around it, the second time I took it back, this time it's enough to say I'll never return. It only leads me to wonder how dirty their kitchen is. I've worked in a restaurant industry for 5 years, I understand cross contamination happens but not this often. Disgusting. read more

One star for customer service with their cup policy apparently there cups are being stolen so they hold your credit card when you order a Moscow mule drink, I guess that's ok if the waitress remembers to bring your credit card back, so one hour of driving to go back and get my card despite the total inconvenience of going to get gas and finding out she never gave it back I almost froze to death the manager could care less so next time I choose a place to eat I'll think about a place that can't keep track of there customers as they rip them off and take it out on paying customers sorry but it's a crappy policy and should be re thought. read more

A college fave. Still solid and great value. I graduated from GVSU in 2006 and spent plenty of time at Main Street Pub during my college career. Service was very attentive aand friendly. My wife had a club sandwich, and I ha a portabella sandwich. Both were delicious. Great beer and food specials daily. read more

Manager was very rude when he sat multiple people at the bar next to us, without asking us before hand and told us, instead of respecting social distancing. he did not care about covid regulations. We asked for some sort of space between us and the others that were there (because our elbows were literally touching) and he told us "what am I supposed to do about it?" And then proceeded to ask us to leave. Bartender was very understanding and wanted to accommodate us, but manager has no care for the general well-being of the customers and said that he couldn't help and proceeded to tell us not come back so don't recommend to anyone, the manager does not care. read more

Good menu and nice family seating We have been here twice. Most recently this Friday 9/14 for lunch. We had good food and good service. The serving sizes were large and we took food home with us. At first I was served a salad with no fork. I had asked for a fork and never got one, until I asked again. I finally received a fork to eat my salad with but by then my meal came. My food was cold and seemed old and didn't taste good whatsoever. I'm disappointed because I don't have much money and made an investment coming here. Stopped mid afternoon on Sunday. It was not busy at all. We were promptly greeted & seated. Then we met "the waiter". This kid was either bored, high or an idiot. About the worst service I can recall. No personality, no interaction, no suggestions. He would just come up and stand at the table until we talked to him. Our order took a long time as they were so slow. We never found out that there were specials of the day until we saw the board on our way out. I'm normally a very good tipper however we left only a small gratuity so he did not think we forgot. The food was fair at best and the poor service did not make things taste better. Topping it off were the two guys that appeared to be in charge, They mostly stood around and talked to each other, I never saw them talk to a customer. we won't go back. read more

Stopped here yesterday after soccer training at GVSU. Start to finish the experience was poor. 4 of us ordered salad. Each ordered a full size salad but it wasn't enough food. I had to order some sweet potato fries to bridge the gap. When the fries arrived, they were cold. Another person ordered a side of bacon after her salad wasn't enough too. This time the bacon was barely cooked. My husband ordered a portobello sandwich no aioli, but of course it came with it. This restaurant has good American food and the prices are very reasonable, since their target market is college students. I went here after a Grand Valley basketball game, so it was packed and the service was slow. I got the grilled chicken wrap and a brownie sundae, both were delicious. The atmosphere is great for families or college age kids. There is a sports bar and on certain nights, karaoke. The Pub has a large selection of food on the menu ranging from seafood to fried pickles. A good pick, overall. read more

They have a great outdoor seating area. We tried it today with a group of 7 of us. They were very accommodating and do have call ahead seating. Our waitress wasn't the best and we waited FOREVER for our food. Thankfully it was nice outside and we got busy talking otherwise I would have gone and talked to someone sooner. I didn't look at the time when we ordered, but based on when we were seated and when we got our food--we waited at least 30 min. And another big group who arrived after us got their food before we did. When we finally got our food, it was pretty good. Tuesday night burger special is quite the deal. They have a lot of other weekly specials going out too--worth checking out. The food is pretty good. Nothing too special, but definitely a step-up from the bland-tasting food at Applebees. Food prices are decent. There is a regular dining area with booths and a bar with maybe 10 TVs, a pool table and a pay-per-play jukebox. The bar area can get a little smoky, but it's by no means the smokiest place I've been. The Pub is a popular spot for 21st birthday parties--mainly because (1) it's close to campus, (2) there's a bus stop on the adjacent corner and (3) it's not age-restricted to 21+. Be forewarned, though: if you're not getting something on special (and they do have some decent specials during the week), you'll pay a fairly high price. Not that it's in the "unreasonable" range, but it's definitely not too cheap. I asked my server how much she thought a pint of Guinness would be; she guessed $3 and offered to check for sure before getting it to me. I said that that wouldn't be necessary and told her to go ahead and get the Guinness. It ended up being $6. As I said, not unreasonable (actually, somewhat standard), but also not cheap. Tip: check their website for their specials before planning your night to go. P.S. For dessert, get the chocolate chip cookie (and yes, you'll only need one--it's plate-sized). The hostess was exceptionally condescending, I placed an order for take-out and arrived 45 minutes after I ordered and was greeted with "your order isn't even done." I asked if she knew how much longer my meal had and she replied "uh, no" and laughed at my question. I waited an extra 15 minutes after that before another employee approached me and asked if I had been helped yet. My friend and I come here often and the service is alright but what happened the last time we were here was beyond gross. We watched our appetizer accidentally being dropped off at the table next to us. They started to eat it then realized it was not what they ordered. I watched them bring it back and then when it was dropped off at our table one of the bites was steaming hot while the rest were cold. I confronted the waitress and said I know you dropped one in the fryer then brought us the appetizers that were touched all over by the other table. She did not deny it and the manager brought us a new batch and apologized saying that should of have never happened. They never even took the appetizer off the bill?! A decent place to go. Fun karaoke. Food is not always consistent, but never bad - specifically the roast beef and chicken dingers. One reviewer mentioned 'local kids looking for a fight'. In my 5 years of going there I have never seen anything like this...so this might have been a rare event for Main Street.
