Food was ok. Burger was ordered medium. Got well done. Server was friendly and kind. Surprise at the end when the check came. 4% Fee tacked on by the business that is also taxed. Fee is misleading making you think it is from the state. It is not. Just the business giving you a fee you didn't know about until you get the check. A local restaurant with a huge menu. Service is nice. Kids eat free on Sunday's which includes a main, a drink, a side and a sundae. The food is okay. Nothing is bad, but it's never delicious either. It kind of reminds me of mass produced generic food. The seasonings lack. My hubby's pot roast sandwich had stringy meat with some fatty grisly pieces. Seasoning was salt and pepper. I had a salad in a wrap, it was okay. If I had it again I would ask for the dressing on the side. The shrimp and avocado tasted okay. Will we come back? Probably. For the four of us to eat on a Sunday it was less than a trip to Culver's. Is it destination dining? Not so much. However they have nice servers, specials, and it's local. So when we don't know what to make for our meal, it's a nearby option and we do appreciate the service with a smile. read more

They are very racist, bigoted, and uncultured. My friend and I went the for lunch and they called the server's head wrap (that was very neat and stylish) offending to their customers since their brand is conservative. Lastly, when we went for lunch another time the same worker was wearing her natural hair and the manager called her hair 'interesting'. The food wasn't great and the atmosphere didn't make it any better. read more

I had heard a lot about this place so I was curious to try it. It's a very casual and friendly vibe - there were a lot of families when I got there on a Friday night. I was looking for places to eat on a 6pm Friday night and was worried about places would get super crowded. Well, I figured Main St. Pub in Allendale wouldn't have that problem, and I was right! I got the Pot Roast and the Strawberry Mojito. There's not much to report - it was fine and just very regular. It didn't seem like they pride themselves on the quality of food, but just more for... being a location that was accessible and friendly that served American food? To be honest, the food reminded me of cafeteria food. It was filling, but it wasn't like... great. The flavors were just like the cafeteria food I've had in the past. The vegetables looked like the ones I'd get frozen at Costco and heat up. The Strawberry Mojito was good! It was refreshing and I enjoyed the little bits of real strawberry in them. Service was great; our waitress was very friendly and checked up on us often. So, the service was great, but the food... eh. I wouldn't come here for food, but more so the family friendly American vibe. It's a convenient place to eat though. read more

The servers, hosts, and drinks are great! The food is a 7.5/10 and is usually pretty good, but it's not the highlight of the pub. Karaoke night and college night are a fun vibe. There's one manager that makes the workplace environment feel hostile, but I stayed longer than I should've because my coworkers all felt like family. read more

We always enjoy going to Main St. Pub. I recommend the Ranch Fritter Wrap, Buffalo Style. They often have multi-course dinner specials as well if you want something more family-style or homemade feeling. Service can at times be on the slow side if they are very busy, but slow service is the exception and not the rule. They have both dining room and bar areas, and they respectively have very different noise levels. The sports bar tends to be louder, but with lots of TVs around to watch the game. The dining area is separated and has a lot of booths that can seat up to 6 people. It's much quieter, so choose appropriately depending on your crew! read more

Posting on here after Google review because I KNOW management will take this down!!! Before I give you all of the WRETCHED details, I would like to start off by saying our server was WONDERFUL, I believe his name was Brezey (my apologies for misspelling). HOWEVER, there were many instances in which I overheard the manager SCREAMING at her staff, and I mean ripping them apart, not just stressful banter. After one instance, I overheard the manager yelling, then saw a poor girl leave the kitchen in tears. Believe me I've done my fair share in the restaurant industry so I understand how hectic it can get, but that is NEVER an excuse to mistreat others. In my opinion, If you have poor communication skills, you should not be working at a restaurant, let alone as a MANAGER. I feel truly sorry for these college kids who are just trying to earn a living. Its hard enough in this modern economy, let alone showing up to work for such a petulant manager (petulant: childish and ill tempered, in case she reads this because I suspect her vocabulary most likely isn't developed enough to understand). I suggest she takes some anger management classes or get a degree in communication because this behavior is not ok and should NOT be normalized!!! read more

restaurant was fine, food was fine, service was OK. However, management needs a change. I wouldnt suggest this place just because of that. I took my daughter out to eat here and she told me she worked here for about a week. Manager, Jamie, was notorious for making her employees cry. Why is that a normalized thing? After hearing her horror story I didnt even want to eat there anymore but my daughter decided to be bigger than I could ever be and stay. never again will I be caught there. Where do I start? The crab sweet pepper soup was the star of the show, a must order. All of the other food tasted a little bland. Would not recommend the SUPER clam basket, not much SUPER about it. overall? 3/5 stars will be back because Allendale is lacking on restaurants. Stay slay read more

It was my first time at eating at Main St. Pub. Everyone was very nice, service was fast and the restaurant was clean. It definitely gave off sport pub vibes and they had plenty of TVs so we could watch the football games. The waitress suggested the ranch fritter wrap and it most certainly didn't disappoint. I ordered half a Caesar salad with blackened chicken to go with a reg soda. It was over $15 for only like 4 pieces of lettuce and some chicken. Not to mention that while I was waiting for my order to be completed, the owner came out to speak with an Amazon business rep. She was rude to him and told him to come back when it wasn't during their busy lunch run. There wasn't ANYONE in the restaurant at the time. it was our first time at the restaurant. The wait staff was OK. We got the Bavarian pretzel and it was good. And then we decided to get the barbecue burger with fries and the perch with mashed potatoes. The burger was dry. The bun was wet. There was barely any fries. I got a half Caesar salad and they barely filled the bowl. The lettuce was also rotting. the fish was breaded with chicken tender breading. Each bite of perch was filled with bones. I understand one or two bones but multiple bones in each bite is crazy. So I decided to try the mashed potatoes, which were an extra two dollars. They were instant potatoes. It came with a dinner roll. So I tried and then I felt it. It was cold like just came out of the fridge. The entire meal was $63 including tip. Terrible food at high prices. What a shame. Very friendly greeting when we arrived. Erica was our waitress and she was friendly and attentive. My husband had the steak which was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the turkey dinner special and everything was hot and tasted homemade. Multiple seating areas including restaurant, bar and patio. I have been dining at Main Street Pub for the last 20 years and I have always enjoyed it. The past few years the quality and taste of the food has decreased considerably, sometimes we would get good food, and other times not. The past couple of times we've ordered takeout it has been terrible, We decided to give it one more shot tonight and ordered takeout and I had to throw my chicken quesadilla away. Food is horrible, they never season anything besides the fries. The quesadillas is just cheap cheese with unseasoned chicken and is soggy. The wraps always fall apart, the burgers are the only thing they can some what get right and the managers don't care and they treat staff poorly. read more

This is my favorite spot to grab a burger in Allendale. Great place to watch a game with some friends. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Their broccoli bites are my favorite thing on the menu. I highly recommend them to start your meal. The sunrise burger is also very good and the fries are excellent. Stopped by on Saturday mid-afternoon. Seated at the booth closest to entrance. Sat and waited 25 minutes without staff even recognizing us. Noticed a male staff further down, wiping tables and setting them up. Hostess walked by us twice and didn't say anything. Several groups of people entered and were seated in bar area and were taken care of. We walked out after 25 minutes. Cross this one off our list. If I had a choice, I wouldn't even leave a one-star review, but Yelp doesn't allow it. read more
