Went in family and friends weekend at GV and were amazed! The food is DELICIOUS right along with the service! Our waitress was so sweet and the food came out super fast!

The atmosphere here is neat. The outer wall is curved, which creates a fun environment. A combination of wood and brick meets modern. There is a warm feeling to the place. They were out of it seemed like everything. I tried ordering the Crab Cakes Breakfast and they were out. So I tried my backup, the French Toast Puffs. Nope, out of that too. Annoyed at that point I just ordered scrambled eggs, Canadian Bacon, and Toast ($13). Here too there were issues. They were out of a bunch of types of toast. So I got an English muffin. The meal was fine. Technically there was nothing wrong with it. I did enjoy the Canadian Bacon. The eggs and English muffin were just a little blah. Especially for the price. The person I was with ordered the Greek Omelette ($11) and like it a lot. The service was good and apologetic about being out of everything. Overall a 3 1/2 star review. Since I have to round I just can't give a 4 so It rounds to a 3 star review. Would I return? Maybe, I'm sure they deserve a 2nd try. Basically, buyer beware.

Tried out a new place near our home and we were pleasantly surprised. The space is light and bright with an adjoining cafe. My daughter was happy they had croissants and my hubby was happy they had a birria breakfast burrito. I ordered the avocado toast and it was tasty and filling without that over full feeling. I appreciate the range on the menu. They also have a kids menu. The flavors were good. I think this might become our go to place for breakfast!

What an adorable, clean, fresh food cafe! The service was amazing! My branded coffee cup looked like a special ordered hand made mug and was so cute! Not gonna lie I was a little worried it wouldn't fill my coffee needs but alas! The server was so attentive my cup never went below half! Hot coffee the entire meal for the win! The attention to detail was noticeable. Including the immaculate restroom. Love that! The owner Antonio came by to check on us. Cool guy. The food tho? Perfection. I had the banana walnut pancakes. I didn't even add butter! They didn't need it! So yummy! My husband ate the corned beef hash. I had a bite. The hash was perfect! Crispy on the outside and potato goodness on the inside. Nothing "Gordon pre made" here. If you are in this area? Stop on in. You won't be disappointed!

Great food, the perfect brunch place if you're near GVSU. The ambiance was perfect . I had the greek omelette and oh my was it tasty . The strawberry cheesecake pancakes were amazing ! The service outstanding. This was my 1st time at Nest egg I would say it was overall a very good breakfast. The only downside was a 15-20 minute wait, but good things are worth waiting for! I will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant!!!

    Western Omelette

Absolutely love the updates since it was the former Coney Island! This was our 3rd visit and the 2nd time I've got the Western Omelette with hash browns and raisin toast. Don't know what happened but my food was literally swimming in grease, undercooked hash browns and toast was cold and barely toasted. Our waiter did make me another order of potatoes, just as greasy. I'll maybe give them another try as there aren't many breakfast places to choose from here, but another bad experience and I'll be done.

    Side of bacon

The place was SUPER cute!!! It's newer, but there was a lot of people there. The food was all decent, the sausage patties were pretty dry, though. Our server was AMAZING! We were greeted super quickly and friendly. Definitely would go again, just don't get the sausage. The bacon is 10/10.

Loaded hash browns with eggs and Hollandaise sauce. Gluten free.

It's the first week of full service. The wait was about 20 minutes at noon. Not too bad. The menu looked great!! Tons of French toast and pancake options too. I had the loaded hash browns with eggs on top and added hollandaise sauce when I found out it was gluten free. My hubby had the loaded oatmeal. Both were very good. We will be back.

    The Balkan...avocado toast w more

Amazing food! This was my third time here so we tried different menu items. My husband had The Balkan (avocado toast w egg, sliced tomatoes, feta cheese, onion, & balsamic drizzle.) Wonderful flavor and presentation!! I had the Allendale omelet (bacon, ham, sausage & cheddar.) Yummy! Talked w one of the friendly owners today and learned that they go out of their way to get the tastiest local ingredients possible. He described their search for a local vendor with the healthiest, tastiest eggs. Good thing we live close, so we can come often and work our way through more of their delicious menu!

Our waitress was super kind and attentive, which honestly carried a lot of the experience. And I have to start with the highlight - the chai pistachio latte. Phenomenal. Perfect balance of bitter and sweet, the pistachio flavor hit, and easily my favorite part of the meal (also just aesthetic). Food-wise, it was a mix. I got the Gouda Breakfast Burger and I loved it - juicy, cheesy, stacked, and exactly what I needed (pregnant me was very happy ). I'd honestly come back just for that. My boyfriend got the Kickin Chicken Benedict, and while the jalapeño hollandaise had a really nice kick, the poached eggs were more "gel" than runny... which is a little disappointing for a brunch spot since that's kind of the main event. Other than that, my boyfriend said it was alright. We also did ask for extra crispy hashbrowns and... they definitely did not understand the assignment. More soft than crispy, which was a letdown too. We also tried the Peanut Butter Stuffed French Toast - good, but not super memorable. For two people, our total was over $80 (three entrees, two lattes, a coffee, and an orange juice), which felt a little high for the overall experience - but not unreasonable if everything hit a bit stronger. Overall, this place has some strong highlights (drinks, burger, and service), just needs a little more consistency across the board to really stand out.

There was a bit of a wait but they have a little area to sit and browse the menu. The place is cozy and homey, a bit crowded but not too bad. Our server was really helpful and kind. I ordered a coffee, and they have alcoholic options if you'd like a bloody mary, spiked coffee, mimosa, etc. I liked that they brought me my own little carafe for the table. We ordered a blueberry pancake for the table, and I got the tree hugger (zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, mushroom, baby spinach, black beans, and cheese, served over diced redskin potatoes. I also added eggs. The pancake was fluffy and sweet, and very large which was great for us to split. I really wanted some vegetables so I was very happy with the tree hugger. It was cheesy and warm, and all the veggies were delicious. I added some hot sauce which made it perfect! My friend got the breakfast burrito which looked really good. I'm glad I got to try this spot and would come back! They do have a lunch menu during the week as well (it said lunch items are limited on weekends).

First off let me point out that there is no private parking lot for this place. This is no big deal if you're from a bigger city like GR, Chi or NYC. But if you're from a smaller town like Muskegon, Coopersville or Fremont where every business has their own private lot this might be a major inconvenience to you. park across the street or on the street if you can find a spot. I was patronizing MSC on a very cold day. This old location has no air lock on the front door, so everytime it opens to let customers exit or enter....the cold air rushes in. Keep that in mind when choosing your table. The restaurant has a warehouse feel to it, similar to the Blue Porch on Beacon Blvd. If you like that style....great. If not you have to deal with acoustics, and a cold drafty feeling, especially in the Winter. Food was actually in line with other restaurants in town unless you want to start getting fancy with the "specials." Believe me, those specials are very popular. Especially the waffle/pancake dishes that are similar to a super sweet dessert at 2000 calories. The last time I was there, the server was friendly, but because of the layout of the dining room, they have a hard time keeping an eye on the tables. So getting a coffee refill or a request for something becomes a waiting game. Overall the food is presented very well and is tasty.

The parking lot in front is pretty small, and there is only one access point, so if you go past it, you'll have to turn around near the apartments behind it. Don't drive on the sidewalk... I didn't, mostly because there is a sign that says, "This is a sidewalk" which made me laugh. (Truly that should be an entrance into the parking lot!) The space is very bright and airy with cute decor and space to get some work or studying done. I was greeted right away when I walked in and I had a tough time deciding what to order. I wasn't hungry, but I love that they have a full on food menu - including salads, burgers(!!!), bagels, toasts, paninis, pastries, etc. Plus all the regular coffee items, boba, smoothies, and teas. I went with one of the seasonal specials, the banana bread matcha. It didn't take too long to come out and it was very tasty - not really what I was expecting, but I liked it. It reminded me of a very green banana (which is how I prefer bananas), it wasn't super sweet but also not super matcha-y. They are expanding their space, so I am interested in coming back to see what that looks like and to order more delicious drinks and try the food!
