We love this place but it's always a big hit to the wallet. There are cheaper places that are just as nice.

We went to Main event to go bowling and to get a beverage and all they had was a liquor bar and then for the drinks they only had Pepsi or one other one or slushy snow fountain sodas and we're trying to ball the lane was in Greece right and they had TVs in front of every bowling lane it was reflecting off of the lane and we couldn't see your marks so we kept messing up and the service was horrible they had nothing but kids working there and I will never ever go back to that place again! read more

We hosted around 30 of our team members here for a get together on a Sunday afternoon. They all had a blast bowling and eating the burger, hotdog and wings buffet that was in our deal. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was efficient. My one complaint is that since the food was allocated just to our group, why not just keep it set up for us until the end of our party? Kind of strange to just clean up and throw away a ton of uneaten food early. read more

This place is okay. I wasn't overly impressed. They have more things to do than Dave & Busters but I'd much rather spend my money at D&B. My boyfriend and I bought the $18.99 all you can play deal which, in the description, allows us to have unlimited access to Mini Golf, Bowling (which was some of the funnest bowling I've ever done) Billiards and Laser Tag. It was really packed the night we went so we were limited to only 1 hour at bowling (but after our hour was up we could get back in line) and the pool tables were all reserved. That deal would be great if the place isn't as busy as it was when we went. The staff could care less, too. Only had a couple of good encounters but everyone else looked like they'd rather be elsewhere. The video game selection was lacking; I guess I'm used to D&B. We didn't get to try the food. Arrived 20mins after opening, the bowling lanes were already full, kind of a let down, but not the establishments fault. I stood in line at the bowling counter and watched one employee help everyone while I counted at least 4 others just standing there and a few coming and going. I eventually asked if he was the only cashier out of the 5 people standing there and one of them said yes and tried to grab the cashier to get him to help me, but I told them no, he was already overwhelmed and busy. After 10 minutes of waiting he finally became available and told me I could buy a game card at a kiosk where I could get some better perks, so I waited for nothing. Would have been great for any employee to make sure people knew where to go, not everyone that comes in has been there before. At least next time I know where to go. Also, your "no guns" sign is not a legal sign in TX. Should be a 30.06 and a 30.07 if you don't want people to be able to defend themselves. read more

I visited this location with my family today and it was outstanding . We first called to see how long the wait was for a bowling lane. Once we arrived we went to arcades and my 6 year old son had a blast . Once we got hungry we continued to sit at the tables next to the bowling lanes and ordered a pepperoni pizza. Service was okay and the pizza was delicious. The staff at the bowling lanes were very friendly and very helpful when I asked them to push our time they agreed and got us bowling when we were ready. I recommend this location and I will be returning. read more

We booked bowling and was told an hour wait so I asked a hostess if it was okay to sit behind the bowling lanes and she told me yes it was fine. I sat down and waited to be approached. 20min passed and no one had as much smiled at me. 10 min later I approached the same girl and let her know that since I had sat down no one came to me yet there was 4 servers walking around laughing and talking amongst themselves. She calls one of them over and he ask where would I like to sit I told him I already had a table and he said "oh I did not see you sitting there". When I finally get a server to take my order our lanes are ready. I let her know and we go to lane 4. Our food comes and it is cold. I just keep the food at this point I am extremely disgusted. While bowling the lane froze and I asked a host on the lane next to us for help and he states " you have to pay to bowl it isn't free" I was extremely taken aback I let him know that we have been bowling for 30 min and he said oh I'm sorry and resets the lane. Our server checks up on us 1x then hands me the check, while we are still bowling. I look at the bill and notice there was extra charges on there for bacon. When I ordered the bacon cheeseburger sliders. I asked her about the charge and she tells me she had to add bacon to make it a bacon cheeseburger slider I showed her on the menu that the burger comes with it and she keeps insisting she had to charge me extra for the bacon. Eventually she took the bacon charge off, but the hassle was ridiculous. This will be my last time at this establishment. I had high hopes for this place after reading about all the fun stuff they offered and the specials they were running. We got there around 5:30 and while waiting for the rest of our party we decided to play some arcade games, which was fun. They had some great happy hour specials too. When the rest of our party showed up we went and signed up for bowling. After we got our shoes, we were excited to start knocking down some pins. We were having a blast. It was my birthday so we were ordering lots of drinks, pizza, and having a great time. That's until we saw a little flashing note on our screen that said we had 3 minutes left. There were six of us so we were still in the middle of our game. Not to mention that the balls got stuck and we had to wait for someone to fix that also. Since we thought it was a mistake, we went to the counter to figure out what was going on, since the special was $5 UNLIMITED bowling. Low and behold, there was a time limit that nobody decided to inform us about after we paid over $30 to play. She said since there was a "waiting list" that we had to vacate the lane, and we could not even finish our game. How is that fair? We got there first, had been spending a lot of money at this place, yet if someone comes in after you and wants to bowl we get kicked off our lane and we get put on a list? Sorry people but you should have got there earlier. I believe most bowling places are first come, first serve and since this was my birthday party and we had been planning it, I was livid. After we talked to the manager, he let us finish our game but they acted like it was a big chore to let us do so. We did spend all that money to get through half a game. Then we went to the bar to get one more round of drinks before we called it a night and stood there for TWENTY minutes waiting for one of the two girls behind the bar to acknowledge us. There were 6 other people at the bar, you would think that two of them could handle it. We were deliberately ignored because they looked at us multiple times and didn't even say a word. I was a bartender for five years and sometimes you have to ignore people if they are really drunk, but we were most definitely not even drunk. We decided to get our tab and leave this place and never come back. Run by children, for children. It is sad that this is what customer service has come to. I am nearly 50 and my brother 36. My brother could not stay to have a beer and watch the game because his driver's license was in his car and he rode with me to bring our kids to bowl why we watch a football game. Kid waiter followed procedure and the business lost a customer for the bar that was going to be here at least three hours. Please do not send me one of the form letter responses to reach out to your manager that the other 25 people with similar complaints got. If your "district manager" was interested the letter would say he was going to contact us, not that we should contact him. read more

This main event is hit or miss. Sometimes my family and I will go and everything is great. Other time's we have gone and it is not a great experience. We understand that this is attracted to all ages, but when we are bowling there are kids all over the place, and it makes it very hard to play when they are jumping in your lane. Again I understand this is a family place, I have 2 kid's myself, but there should be rules. It takes away from the time we pay to bowl, and we don't want to accidentally hurt anyone. I'm confused about all the negative reviews for this location. I've been to main event many times over the years, and I've always had a good time. I agree, things a little on the pricey side.. But you can't go to an entertainment place in clear lake and expect to order off the dollar menu, and play skee ball for a quarter. You would be spending the same amount taking the family to Houston zoo, as you would spending the day at main event. I have encountered a not so pleasant server when going out with a few friends, but I'm a little more patient than most having worked in the food industry. That being said.. The review I'm writing is mainly for our experience this past weekend. I planned my son's 4th birthday party here. Shortly after I filled out an inquiry form online, I was contacted by phone. I was positively surprised at the speedy communication, and amount of information I was provided. The woman behind the phone was able to answer all my questions, and assure me this would be a stress free, parents kick their feet up kind of party. I wasn't convinced as I am somewhat of a "helicopter/Pinterest mom" and I stress over every little detail. Three days before the party I was contacted again to confirm a headcount for food and bowling. The day of the party, I arrived 30 minutes in advance and told my guests to show up 15 minutes in advance to get shoe sizes and bring presents to the room before we start our game of bowling. Last minute our headcount of 10 kids turned into 5, and our host Hallie was able to fit some adults into the missing children's spots. We were greeted with a smile, a quick overview of the agenda, and reassurance that everything would be taken care of. It was. Beyond belief. Hallie helped carry the presents, cake, and decorations to our party room and walked us over to our reserved bowling lanes. Our names were all set up on the screen, our shoes were waiting for us, and all we had to do was play! It amazed me that she was by the kids side most of the game, instructing them, helping them bowl, and cheering them on. She was a beautiful radiance of positive energy and the kids loved her. Once our game was over, she escorted us back to the party room, and I was taken away from how amazing everything looked! She did a great job on the decorations and place settings. She was quick to take charge and called the shots. I liked that, as I can lose track of time socializing with friends and family. We had pizza, sang happy birthday, cut cake, opened gifts, and played arcade games. The price of the party was very reasonable and much cheaper than other birthday venues in clear lake. I had several small requests throughout the day and she went above and beyond to make everything happen. Not bad, not bad at all. I went with a few friends on a Monday night, they have (or had) a deal that for $20 you get unlimited bowling, laser tag, billiards, golf and a $10 fun card. (I think now you can get the same deal but with a $20 fun card) We started off with the golf. The glow-in-the-dark course was ok, nothing special. The courses weren't very complex, and the music they were playing was a weird mix of "Kidz Bop" and old disney music. Billiards were nice, there's a ton of tables, so there was no wait. After doing that for a while we had our first game of laser tag. The place was pretty empty, so we didn't have to wait for a game, but there was enough people to make the game interesting. The laser course was larger than I had expected, and you can let the guys know what kind of game you want to play (ex. Capture the Flag, Team, or Individual points). We played Capture the Flag. Then two more games later in the evening. We used our game cards on redemption games and the IMAX rides. The bowling isn't great, it was fine for the night, included in the fun, but if you really want to bowl more seriously, I would go to an actual bowling alley, but it's fine for a couple fun, recreational games. By the end of the evening, we had the place practically to ourselves. All and all, I enjoyed my experience. It wouldn't be my first choice in places to go bowling, or mini-golf. but the laser tag wasn't bad, and the billiards are nice, they even have happy hour specials for drinks, appetizers and billiards. I could see myself back there sometime for those specials or to play some laser tag. read more

First time here and had a terrible experience starting off. Walked around first to make sure we wanted to spend the $100+ dollars we knew we'd spend eating and playing. Sat down to order food and it took 10 minutes for someone to even approach our table. We watched a group of servers standing in a circle talking most of this time. Placed the food order and waited and waited. Every few minutes a server would walk by and say it would be a few more minutes. Finally, after 30 minutes 2/3 of our food was delivered with the promise that the rest would be out soon...that the kitchen was backed up. Half the food that we received was barely warm. Finally the remaining food arrived. We asked to speak to a manager and after a few minutes Chris came over very apologetic. He took care of our food bill and gave us $45 in Fun Cards. He listened to our complaint and made it right, over and above. Our server Goldy didn't realize Chris gave us Fun Cards and she made us one too. So we spent $60 for a bracelet and received a meal and $75 in Fun Cards. What started out as a poor experience turned into a better one. We'll return and give them another chance. After last night, I will never come back to Main Event again. Don't get me wrong, I know when it comes to work they you try to provide the best customer service best as possible but the worst experience had to be coming from the Bar. I went to a work outing event for my job and the room we went into was awesome. Food was phenomenal! The service in their was absolutely fantastic. When we went into go grab a drink from the bar. It took almost 20 min to get a draft beer?! A draft beer?! I even had to teach the bar back girl on how to pour the beer? I have been in the bar business for 8 years you don't have one bartender, one who is working the well and one barback working the bar on a Friday/Saturday night. On another note, fix the doors in the men's bathroom. I walked in and a gentleman couldn't lock the door while he was using the restroom :-/ and it was completely disgusting. read more

The entertainment alone is alright. I mean, no one actually goes into this place expecting to get a lot out of it right? It's basically a place to throw at least $60 down the toilet, but it's all in good "fun." Main Event in Webster has some of the worst workers ever. I think they only hire clinically depressed people. I've been there twice. In the first trip I went with a group of friends for my friend's birthday. We ordered food and it took forever. The guy serving us was actually nice but he was incompetent. He may have been new. We spent a lot of our time at the table because (we all paid separate) he kept taking one card back at a time to run payment. Then he'd bring it back and take another card. Really? Then we wanted to ride the roller coaster simulation ride. We stood in line but no none came to serve us. We gave up. There were people by the mini 3D Movie theatre but when we walked up the workers had left. Some of them even saw us from a distance and didn't come to help us! We had to track someone down. 2nd visit I take my younger sister just to have some fun. Finally I get to ride the roller coaster simulation ride. The worker asks me how I'm doing "Pretty good, you?" I say. His reply "I'm pretty shitty cause I'm at work" ...really guy? Really? Then laser tag this time is awful. Not because of the workers but the kids playing are running around swearing and calling us ugly and just being rude. Even the adult woman over the kids... Who was on my team... Shoved me out of her way. Rude people. Of course the workers did nothing and didn't even let us look at our score in the end. Then I attempted to play black light mini golf... BIG waste of time. It was beyond lame. However I'd NEVER played before so I thought I'd try it. The guy "Angel" told me something and I thought he said "choose one ball" but I could barely hear him over all the noise. I asked him, "One ball?" he couldn't hear me. I said it louder, still couldn't hear me. I said it again, and he looked at me really snarky and said "I don't know why you'd need more than one." What an ass. Really? I was just making sure that's what you said, idiot. If I was manager I'd fire every one of those ungrateful babies. There are people out there who would actually like to have a job. I don't know that I'd go back. I drove over an hour to be there. I'd rather just take my business to Sugarland and Houston. read more

Went with my girlfriend to play laser tag. I've never played before so I thought it would be a fun and new experience for us both. How wrong I was.... The staff was EXTREMELY immature laughing at co workers joking around while we were trying to ask questions and listen to the instruction. He went over the rules so fast you could barley understand what he was saying. Mean while a young man was annoyingly opening and slamming a staff only door as a joke and causing a major distraction from the instructional video being played before the match. I would never in my life come back to play laser tag there EVER AGAIN. I recommend hiring older and more mature and professional staff. Not 12 years olds. read more

I went here with a group of friends from high school for a G rated bachelor party of sorts. We are in our mid 30s now and did not know went to expect in terms of if this place was for kids or adults. Overall we had a great time on a Friday night but this place is pricey and a bit disorganized. The cafe they have offers junk food and soda so we got a pizza and soda for about $30 for 4 people. The pizza is greasy and nothing to brag about but I think teenagers or kids would love it. They do have plenty of staff and security is good. I saw 2 uniformed police officers walking around inside in the evening hours. The worst thing about this place is disorganization. We wanted to play pool but every table was taken so we asked about a wait time to get a table. There is no system of putting customers in order to get a table. I was told to just check in with the cashier for this area every 5-10 minutes to see if something opened up. I am not sure there is a time limit on pool to allow for waiting customers to play. Pretty much the same thing was going on to get a bowling lane. We had about a 45 minute wait before we got a lane but the cashier did give up a free 30 minutes of time on the lane to make up for the wait. The cost is $13 per person on a Friday night for one hour of playing time. This includes the shoe rental. They also have a mini golf course that is indoors, laser tag, and several arcade games which we did not play. The crowd is pretty civilized and clam; no thugs or wannabe gangstas with pants falling off. Most of the customers are high school seniors or young adults well under 30. Therefore, it is a pretty loud place. The music playing in the background is very loud and the arcade games add to the sound. I will probably not go back unless I have family with kids under 15 visiting me. There are many bowling places in the Houston area that offer unlimited playing time for similar money of around $13 per person. The crowd and setting seems to be more quiet at traditional alley. If you will be taking kids here avoid Friday nights. A day trip would be much better. read more

The place is extremely expensive, staff lacks on service and positive attitude, food is typical awful fried American food, and there are some areas they really need to redo or update. First time here. This place is packed and full of unsupervised children running amuck. I'm new to Texas and I'm not sure if this is legal here but there are parents with their children sitting at the bar drinking alcohol. Adults drinking beer where the children are playing games. I would never leave my child here unattended. There are lots activities to do here but all the games are sticky and not working. Needs to be sanitized and cleaned here. Bathrooms are disgusting. The only thing I really liked was the burger I had, good flavor, and that is the reason I'm giving it 2 stars! read more

I want to love this place, I really do. I wouldn't say the service is bad, because once you can actually get someone to wait in you the service is fine. Unfortunately, getting someone to actually acknowledge you can be extremely difficult. There will be 10 employees standing around (I guess maybe not the right "kind" of staff) yay can't get anyone to help. I say this after 3 bad experiences, in a row. Laser Tag was fun. That being said, overall service and convenience was lacking. Insufficient wait staff. Most areas were understaffed. Unhelpful staff in bowling alley. LONG line to play Laser Tag or Putt Putt. For the price paid, could hire additional staff and train them better. read more

I walked in and was very sad to see a giant empty space. They have a very small assortment of games at this location... there was a row of racing games and two rows of shooting games. :( The bowling was way too expensive. Now there is a 3 hour wait for bowling. 30 - 60 minute wait for mini golf. Laser tag is available now, but your son is too short (wasn't too short to pay the $19.99). So after two hours of play I was only refunded my bowling shoe fee. Never got to bowl. Stay away!!! This is a true bait and switch. They grab your money then provide WAY less than a fun experience. My boyfriend and I went as a little mini getaway from our daily life as parents to a toddler expecting a fun and relaxed arcade experience. (The main reason we came was for the arcade) When we first went in the service at the front desk was fine, the prices were a little high for our liking but that didn't stop us from trying it out. The arcade is fairly mediocre. Most of the games are just apps turned into "video games" which kinda bummed us out. We went to get food at what I assume is supposed to be an Italian food place. Two employees stood in front of us talking for what I believe to be over five minutes while they were looking in our direction. When they finally did speak to us they told us the restaurant was closed until their manager gave them the ok to open which was annoying considering it was the only food we could find. There was no one at the bar. The prizes you can redeem with tickets were either 10 tickets or so and a small piece of candy or they were huge and like 1300 tickets and the teenager working that area acted like she'd rather be somewhere else the whole time she was "helping" us. Don't think it'll be somewhere we will return to. It's a shame because we were so excited about it too. read more

Went in to do some bowling, their little 5 dollars all you can play deal was pretty sweet. They had food and drinks, I didn't expect a full menu but they have everything from burgers and wings to full on steaks. Got our lanes, server came by and got our orders and we just sat and bowled for a few hours. They also have some leagues going on soon and we got a free bowling ball when we signed up. I think it cost us something 8 bucks a week, and they said we'd get free appetizers and free game cards during the league as well. If that's true, between that and the free ball we should definitely get our money's worth. All in all I'd say it was a fantastic visit and we plan to be back soon! read more

Good luck getting service at the bar. They had a person working the bar that was "not allowed to serve alcohol" per the manager. We waited at least 45 min for the bartender to return to her post. We eventually decided to just close our tab and go elsewhere. I would not recommend this place to anyone! This place gets one star cuz there's not a lower rating.
