Very very nice staff. Almost $40 for a 8 year old and 3 year old to skate for only 2 hours. and then $7 to rent a thing to help them skate. Cost way too much. The staff have been helpful letting me know I can't walk on the floor that there is a designated spot (don't like that, my child needs help when he falls but the staff has been helping ! ) it's not a bad place at all. Terrible experience. I took my nephews during summer break, and the staff wouldn't allow adults to stand by the sides or help young kids who were learning to skate. We were told multiple times to stop helping them, and the DJ even got in my face about it. The staff had horrible attitudes and seemed more concerned with yelling at customers than making sure kids were safe and having fun. If someone fell, they were expected to get up and keep moving with no support. Very unfriendly atmosphere for families and beginners. We definitely won't be coming back. read more

Summer Sk8ting Fun !!! Considering I have not been skating in umpty squat years, it was more than just fun. It was well lit, clean and the staff was very hospitable and helpful when needed. The cool thing is I brought my own skates, however the not so cool thing was forgetting to change out the wheels. However, they were stocked with plenty of skates and most importantly in my size. It was a crowd and not to many people nonetheless, the music was great for the occasion as well. Something, I thought that was an added bonus were the safety aids provided to help newer skaters. I will admit to testing one out for a test ride myself to see how they felt. It was too cool. Overall, it was worth the 4hrs spent there. Cool spot. Cleaner than pear wood AND they have a bar!! The front of House staff are very friendly. My complaint was with the youngin in the back in charge of skates. I attended a young kid's birthday party. I paid $5 extra for the walker. Took my son to the bathroom, came back and someone took it. So I went back to ask for another and they told me no, mind you, these rentals are numbered. They made an announcement for whoever took it to return it ...seriously..WHO would do that smh. Of course no one did. They didn't refund me and they didn't replace my rental. My son was very upset. People suck. read more

I am from Louisiana and trying to keep skating alive! My husband and I bring our own Harlic Roller Skates made in California. For the past 10+ years my husband and I have made a goal to skate in each state at least one time. I am so happy to find this neon fun palace. I thought the wall art was fantastic. The floor was clean and wood which I prefer for my lifts, jumps, and spins. The arcade room was huge and room for so much fun. The manager was nice and easy to talk too. One of my favorite skating rinks in the Houston area. The adult area, full bar & spacious rink are the things I love the most!! Tuesday is half price night & great days for practice. Wednesday & Thursday are also great days for practice. My favorite day is Saturday night from 10p-2am! Saturdays are adults only, so the drinks get a little stronger & the music keeps you on the floor. It's not overcrowded compared to some rinks. You can also purchase skates & food from the rink. The food sometimes take longer than expected, but it's always fresh.! If you are looking for a good skate night with a smooth floor, music, food & drinks FunCity Sk8 is the place. When you walk in, be prepared to "sign" a waiver (electronically: on your phone). Apparently, from reading other reviews, there is a dress code but I can't find any mention of it on their website. (No bare shoulders - I think.) A dress code isn't an issue, but finding out about it at the door might cause some problems, so be prepared. My review does not include their rental skates, because I have my own, but they appear to be perfectly fine rentals. The staff members are friendly, informative, and helpful. They have a skate shop where you can buy roller skates, laces, and accessories. They also have a service department. There is a large room at the far end of the rink which houses the Arcade. At the near end, there is a lounge area with a rink view, where they serve beer, wine, and cocktails. The cafeteria food looks decent, but I haven't tried any yet. The black lights and the neon artwork add a layer of fun! Any type of white clothing, including your skates, will glow under this black light! Also, neon colors will glow. It doesn't improve your skating, but it's fun! My favorite night is Wednesday, which is adult night. It costs a couple of bucks more, but I prefer the energy. Don't get me wrong - I'm not against kids - but the ones that are really new to skating are very unpredictable and tend to go e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e! Meanwhile, Wednesday night brings the people who are trying new moves (turning, dancing, jumping) so there are still bodies lying on the floor, but it's different than kid-energy. Ya know? The floor seems to be extra wide, which is extra nice! It's also very clean (no debris) but there are a few spots that have ripples, which can throw you off, and affect your momentum. But after a few laps, you tend to remember where they are and can avoid them. The music was skatable and danceable but I didn't recognize any of it, which might say more about ME than the rink, but new music is kinda nice sometimes, right? Went here for a birthday party on Saturday. It was a typical skating place. On Saturday they have adult skate night from 9-1, its 15 dollars for admission (NO RE-ENTRY) and that does include your skates. It's also BYOB so that's something that gets people out of course. They also sell food, not sure what but they have a kitchen. There were a lot of people out and the friend that we celebrated had a good time. This place was quite a stretch from where we all live as it is in Webster, TX--a real commute. Man the things you do for friends right? Oh when skating do not take a break and just stand on the side, the man on the microphone/DJ was real rude screaming at people to tell them not to stop. Sir there is a way to deliver a message. Great place to enjoy with the family. I've been coming here since I was a teen. It seemed so much better back then. They use to have an awesome DJ. Now it seems the DJ just plays whatever he likes.. I've came several times with my husband and daughter and they're usually playing the exact same songs as the time before... also, there's no pump in the atmosphere. We recently took our church youth group for an activity night at Fun City Sk8. We had a wonderful time! The music was fun and they played skating games to keep it interesting. Where to begin... came in a Saturday for a couple of hours. Staff is completely rude! No clean tables at all to sit at. When sitting on the other side that was empty you have to reserve or pay. Which there is no sign stating that. Everything is ran by rude rude rude teenagers. I believe one of the managers was yelling at some kids. I was completely disgusted as a parent that someone would speak to kids like this. I would never never recommend this place to any clients, companies I work with to host an event at this location. It needs better employees with better attitude. The food! I am more than sure there is several health code violations! This place has good potential. However, I would never have another birthday party there. They give you about 10mins for set up. The host does not time the party therefore our party was late getting the pizza and last having the "birthday announcements". Which caused the kids less time to skate and for our party to be rushed out. Michelle was rude to a party guest and over all our party was too large for our host. One of the guys with a whistle was very rude to my autistic sister. Instead of using his voice and asking her to please move to replace the trash can he blew the whistle in her ear and used aggressive irritated hand movements to tell her to move. I'll preface by saying I am a long time patron of Funcity. Though not as long as some people who skate here. That's said, like any business they have their positives and negatives. Regardless of those, I still give this place 5 stars because they make efforts to address issues when they arise. This place really is my second home. Fun place, nice rink, and clean. However it is ran by teenagers, so expect disorganization but, it's a perfect job for them. The thing I found most disturbing is today, I waited in line and was going to buy a pizza. The young lady told me she didn't have time to make pizzas because there were parties going on. Fair enough, even though it was not busy and only a few tables were having parties, she was honest and I can accept that. However, one of the party host came up to the food counter with pizzas left over from a party, cleaned off the tray, and put the pizza back in the warmer and then tried to sell me left over pizza. Horrible management! Went for my child 6th bday! Worse experience I've had since moving to Texas! THEY allowed us to use a cash app card cause their apple pay was down to get in allowed us to use cash app to order pizza! After a hour of waiting i went to check.on food and was told it wasnt even put in yet so i asked for refund! Two of the kids from the party was crying they were hungry so i went to get two slices and fries and was told they dont accept cash app cards! The manager was rude and i asked how do u guys as a business accept the card twice but now when it comes to feeding these two kids u dont! In a very snobby tone she says if i wouldnt have refunded then they wouldnt be hungry! Called the police absolutely ruiened a babygirl 6th birthday! Dont go!
