My daughter had been looking forward to coming here all week during Spring Break. We arrived and there was large party in the private area but just a few customers on the walk in side. I went to the counter to see what we needed to do, and the young lady was checking out customers and an older gentleman was also behind the counter with her. A younger man also walked up behind the counter as we were standing there. No one offered any information or assistance as we stood there to the side. I eventually asked her if we needed to do anything specific since we were just standing there to the side and she said "oh, sorry! I thought you were with the large party." She gave us instructions to select our pieces and then have a seat and someone would be with us to do the next step. We selected our items and had a seat. The two gentlemen were still around the counter or back and forth to help other customers with paint, etc. I made eye contact with both of them and they both turned away at several engagements. After about 8-10 minutes of no one coming to our table, my 9 year old looked at me and said, "Mom, I feel like no one wants to help us, and they've seen us sitting here for a while." WOW. An experience I NEVER want my child to have. We put our pieces back carefully, and left. I hate that was her experience especially because she was really looking forward to it, and there aren't many opportunities like this in our area, but I won't bring her back to be ignored. read more

Strolled into Prettyin' Paint this weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was the perfect place to hangout and unwind. Prettyin Paint is a full service pottery establishment. They provide the ready to paint ceramics, paint, tools, and they also bake the pieces as well. We spent a decent amount of time here and never once did we feel rushed. The owners here are very friendly and knowledgeable. I couldn't be more excited to have a pottery place on this side of town. Super excited to see our pieces once they're done! My friends and I came here randomly and loved every minute of it!! They make it so easy and fun. You choose what you want to paint and grab any paint colors you want. Bobby immediately explained everything to us once we sat down, and was super helpful with tips throughout the process! I normally don't write reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. My family and I went to celebrate my birthday here about a week ago. I had originally reserved a room but decided to cancel it because I was unsure of how many people there were going to be total. I talked to the party cordinator and we came to an agreement to not rent the room and just sit in the regular area and bring 8 people. I got a last minute notice from 2 of the invited guests saying that they would be able to make it. I figured it would be okay to bring them since this place accepts walk ins, making us 10 total including me. I got there the day off a was told we would be sitting in the party room because they were a little more busy than expected. I noticed a bad attitude as soon as we got there. I don't really understand what the big problem was because we were all paying for our things anyways and had not asked to even be in the room. Kathy kept rushing us through the process counting down the time till the end. She was not helpful at all. It then came to be 6pm and everyone was already pretty much done all we had to do was take a few pictures and all I could see was them making faces and rushing us to checkout. Every single person paid for their own pottery piece (all between $30-$45). When it came time to pay, the owner, Kathy, told me she would not charge a party fee for putting us in the party room something I didn't even ask for. Later, after she'd already been tipped and the transaction was complete, she pulled me aside to tell me she felt "taken advantage of" and tells me how disappointed she was that I had brought 2 extra people than I had told her I would bring. WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER. I was shocked, we would have gladly paid any extra fee if it had been mentioned upfront. She said the fee was for an extra helper, but there wasn't an extra person assisting our group anyway. She ruined my full experience and I will NOT be going to that place again. I DO NOT recommend having a party here. They are not helpful at all the whole time we were painting. They have a terrible attitude and customer service. A week later, when we came to pick up our finished pottery, I approached Kathy calmly to clarify what we'd done wrong. Kathy was polite and respectful during the conversation, but her husband (the co-owner) immediately became aggressive, raising his voice, gesturing angrily, and even had to be told by Kathy herself to calm down multiple times. It was intimidating and completely uncalled for. Things escalated to the point that he called the police, even though he was the one acting aggressively. When officers arrived, he even kicked one of our friends, claiming he "couldn't see clearly." That's not how you treat customers, especially over a misunderstanding that could have easily been resolved with communication. We left feeling shocked and disrespected. I work in customer service and would never speak to or behave toward customers the way we were treated here. This was supposed to be a fun birthday outing, instead it turned into an awful experience. I do not recommend this place, especially to women or families. No one should ever feel unsafe or belittled while supporting a small business. read more

i went in many times, and my work was disrespected over and over. i gave them chance after chance, not only did the one of the owners try to get in my personal business, he was rude to. i have pictures of before and after my pottery is fired and before it looks great and is perfect, and then when i come back to get it. it almost looks like it was intentionally ruined. and when you look around the pottery place and see their own work, they don't do that to their own stuff, its very upsetting because me and my family came in over and over, and tried again and again, and bought snacks and drinks countless times, so it's very disappointing to know my work was intentionally ruined over and over, from the first piece to the last, and the last piece, they wouldn't even let me finish. they said they were going to toss my piece so my mother went and got it for me, and when she picked it up, unfired, it had been ruined, they were intentionally ruining pottery pieces of people they are jealous of, my work was beautiful and almost perfect and was ruined every time. i'm supplying photos of before and after my items were fired. will never be coming back and i hope this keeps other people from being disappointed and wasting their time/money. read more
