I took my girlfriend here yesterday and we had a great time! The whole process was super easy. We…read morewalked in, were greeted right away, and they explained everything very clearly. You simply pick the pottery you want to paint, and the price is listed on the bottom of each piece, which makes it easy to choose. We spent about two hours painting and had a lot of fun with it. After you're finished, they keep the piece for about three days so it can be fired and cured in the kiln. Overall, it was a really fun and relaxing experience.

Stopped in at The Mad Potter for some painting!!…read more We called ahead to make reservations because the last time we tried to walk in, the place was packed and we would have had to wait for hours. The workers were polite and helpful when it came to taking our reservation and getting our table set up. I love that they have so many colors and pottery pieces to choose from. Whether it's something seasonal, something small or large, a flower pot, or a coffee mug they have something for everyone. They also advertise that you can host birthday parties there and bring your own food and drinks without a corkage fee, which is a nice option for celebrations. The space is a decent size, with tables and chairs that can accommodate both small and larger groups. However, there was a foul smell when we first walked through the door not a paint smell, but something I honestly can't describe. Toward the back of the building, there was also a strong urine smell that lingered. Overall, we had a great experience painting! Our finished pieces were ready in about 4 days, and they give you up to 3 months to pick them up, which is really convenient.

The classes are really small so you do get a great experience and learn how to do it well. You create the plate and paint it in the same night, so when you pick it up, it's all ready to go in about two weeks. It's so fun to try out a pottery wheel, and they help out to ensure everyone can do it! They also offer premade pottery pieces where you can paint yourself and fire for you. I'll probably be back to do this sometime!

I was a little bit confused on what to do so I'll help y'all out: 1) Select the piece you want to paint from the wall. You bring your piece to the counter and pay for the price of this piece (usually found at the bottom) AND an extra $7 on top for the paint. Don't worry, during COVID you're allowed to come back and finish painting at another time without paying an additional fee again. 2) Go to the paint section and write down the paints color you want to use on the sheet of paper. The shown paint is half 1 layer and the other half 3 layers. You can sit down at any table you want and they'll bring the paint to you. (You can always ask for more paint afterwards). 3) When you're finished, give your piece to one of the workers. They'll fire it up for you and be ready in a week or so.
