Came here with a group of 7 UTMB medical students as a social outing for a scholars program. Amy, the owner, immediately greeted us and was accommodating when some of our classmates flaked (Gen Z, am I right?). We decided to do the medium-sized glass bowls and had a blast. We sat at a long table that could seat at least 10 as we chose our different colors and cuts. Two other large groups were in the studio and even added to the lively ambiance. Amy walked us through the process and then checked on us intermittently to make sure the process was going okay. We had a lot of fun doing something crafty with each other and I would highly recommend it for a work outing or large group social. My only regret is not getting a beer or two while we had the chance! Didn't realize until late that they offered drinks as well. My bowl was ready a few weeks after. Update: I already left a review after our visit last year, but I wanted to update it because I realized I never mentioned what happened afterward. After our experience, I chose to reach out privately by email rather than just leaving a negative review. My goal wasn't to complain I genuinely hoped the feedback would help improve the experience for future families and visitors. Unfortunately, I never received any response or acknowledgment. What disappointed me most wasn't even the original visit it was realizing afterward that there didn't seem to be any interest in hearing customer feedback. A simple reply, acknowledgment, explanation, or even "thank you for taking the time to share this" would have gone a long way. I understand businesses get busy and not every message can result in a full resolution, but being completely ignored after taking the time to provide detailed, respectful feedback reinforced the same feeling we had during our visit: that customers were more of an afterthought than a priority. I still think the space itself has a lot of potential, which is why I reached out privately first. I just wish the customer experience had matched it. read more

This was a cute shop with a lot of options to pick from. My group had a fun time painting pottery together. The only downside is that it takes a few weeks for the pottery to be fired and they no longer ship your items. If you aren't from the area you will need to make other arrangements. Staff was friendly when asked questions. I wish they were more proactive in their assistance by offering help and checking in instead of us having to ask when we didnt know what we were doing. read more

It was so much fun. There are lots of things to paint and the staff is very helpful. We painted wine glasses and had a lot of fun. Make sure to allow about two hours for the project. Good overall experience, but it took Amy 2 weeks to have the pieces ready which prevented me from giving them as gifts.

I've been to Clay Cup several times and it is always a great experience. The owner has a great, open space where you can relax and paint for hours. Nobody hassles you or limits you to 4 colors at a time like some other places do. They encourage you to take your time and come back another day to finish a project if needed. She has a separate party room so even when there is a private event or a big class going on, there's usually an alternate space where you can work if you aren't in the party. She has a great selection of pottery items and wine glasses to paint. I've also done one of her guided canvas classes and it was a lot of fun. I haven't done the glass fusion yet but the finished projects look really cool! read more

So I've taken a couple of glass fusion classes. Instruction is minimal - communication is even less minimal ( we had to call repeatedly to pick up our finished product) - minimal (actually none) instruction to finish the glass wind chime project. The owner was clearly overwhelmed, negative, and didn't provide appropriate end materials. The fusion for the joins were not complete.Sad really overall. read more

I drove 40 minutes through traffic and arrived at 5:45, leaving me about an hour to paint the platform of my choice. Upon walking in, it was a dead zone filled with one woman and her children. She was propped up in a chair and clearly ready to close for the day. Although she was nice, her words and attitude made it very clear she was ready to go home. She told me that she closed in 30 minutes (obviously a lie) so I gladly left. I was visiting out of town and will not be coming here anytime I return. Her attitude made it clear that she wouldn't be willing to help or provide direction, her focus was her children. read more

Such a cute little studio!! The prices are the best I've seen in all of Galveston and league city!! They also have a really nice staff and the owner is also very sweet and extremely helpful. The clay pot painting options are adorable and really hard to chose only one of them. The canvass paintings have a wide verity so you can really have any size imaginable. The atmosphere is also very spacious and friendly!! Definitely somewhere I'll drive all the way to from league City to just come paint again because of the amazing service I received!!10/10 would recommend!!!!!! read more

We have tried 3 events because the business is such a great concept! It's a great entertainment activity for the entire family offering pottery, painting and other art activities! It has no competition in Galveston and the advertised special events are very appealing! However; After three visits for events that were priced on the higher end for our children ( camps) --- It became very obvious and very disappointing that there are problems with this business. Both Owner and staff seem to have been unsure of pricing, advertised activities, proper procedures and customer care. And, Yes, as a previous reviewer stated, the Owner is so busy trying to control her own kids that she simply couldn't focus on her business or customers. On the first visit my sister noticed that the Owners son was behind the register dealing with customers and then proceeded to call a customer's little girl ugly names out of earshot from his Mom. That day the Owner had 3 of her children on site with no help to serve customers that had arrived from a cruise ship. The toddler was running around in a diaper in and out of the front door. We left when the Owner and son began a heated argument-and we never received our completed pottery or follow up from the Owner. It seems they should have noticed that our paid for and completed pottery pieces were complete and simply needed to be picked up?! But we've not received a response to inquiries or apologies for the problem. We were overcharged by $20 that has never been refunded. Again, it is great idea for a business, a great location, and seemingly offers great event ideas, but I doubt they have many repeat customers. If it were run well we would go there weekly! Sadly I can't recommend this business until things are resolved with the organization and the Owner! read more
