I have been here a number of times since opening. We usually have a positive experience as the staff are all friendly and fairly responsive. If we have any problems such as asking for help or needing something, they are quick to help. If there's any critique I have, it's that it can be quite busy at times. The larger crowds can contribute to noise. You might as well be out of luck if there's a party or some other occasion going on as well. My best advice would be to come as early as you can. Trying non-standard hours could be a good strategy, too. Sometimes you can wait hours to get a lane for bowling. Other attractions such as the arcade are fairly easy to come and go. We did try the eat and bowl approach. I am a bit mixed on how much I like it. Sure, it can be fun to take a bite in between your turn. But I am always a little cautious whether or not I'm keeping things clean as I wouldn't want to grease up the bowling balls any more than others. The quality of the food was okay. I think it is a little better as well as more pricey than the food court upstairs. I have yet to try some of the other games such as laser tag or pool. They have a large private banquet room in the back that is incredibly spacious, beautiful, and sparking clean. We ended up playing for about three hours, which felt like the perfect amount of time to really enjoy everything without getting worn out. They offered to help me set up, all though there is not much to do because they handle everything they helped with the little things I brought to set up. They were kind enough to also cut the cake. There is a lot to be said for this place. A lot of great family, entertainment and value is all here under one roof. Multiple bowling alleys available, (including a private VIP bowling alley which is where me and my party were in), a mini pool hall, and an arcade for the kids and kids at heart... we got quick service and the food was good. We had pizza and fries, and multiple type of drinks. Everything was great and we all had a good time there. We had such a great time here! As a matter of fact, I've been back twice since mid December. We decided to have our small office party there and did the eat and play combo. I ordered the wings and was impressed with the different sauces that they had. I got the buffalo sauce since that's always my go to and had a side of the Sriracha honey. Had my kids birthday party here and it was really fun. We didn't bowl, but they really enjoyed the laser tag and arcades with their friends. Kids had a great time and looks like many of the parents did too. Place is new and clean and enjoyable. Our party planner was great. She was nice and attentive to our party, making it pleasurable. Food and party were a little pricey, but better than some other places we've had previous birthdays at. For my wife and I, as long as our kids had fun is all that matters. I'm thinking that people don't know what's inside yet. Clean interiors, a small restaurant though, compared to the rest of the square footage. I didn't take a look at the menu but I will do that the next time I am over that way. Plenty of activities for Adults and Children. I can't wait to bring my Grandkids back! Also, I saw that they have a Laser Tag room in the rear of the arcade area. This would be a great place to have a Birthday party. Came with hubby to watch Game 1 of the World Series (Dodgers vs Toronto Blue Jays) at Main Event's indoor restaurant, The Family Kitchen. Spacious and clean dining establishment with numerous large screen TV's, a bar and and lots of seating. Got the boneless chicken wings with ranch and bbq sauce on the side as well as the pizza strip board, a one and a half foot long pepperoni & cheese pan pizza with mushroom toppings and some soda for drinks. Waitress Nethalea (not sure of spelling her name) was every bit helpful and accommodating. She made sure our food arrived on time with less wait time. Came in to watch the laker Vs clipper game with my girlfriend, as we sat at the bar top we were asked "hey it's happy hour, what would you like to order" after a couple mins we checked out the menu, we orders a couple drinks and a dish. all was well till after the bartender presented the check and clearly it wasn't happy hour. Very fair pricing for bowling, it was around $20 per person for 2 hours on a week-night. I have not been bowling in a while so I was surprised to see an additional charge for bowling shoes but it was still cheaper than other competitors. Lanes and booths were clean but the lane by the restroom does get the occasional poop-smell whiff. Would go again! read more

First time here 3/16 for a birthday. Great deals on games & activities. 12.99 unlimited plays on Monday night. Service completely sucked we waited forever just to order & get bill. Food super mediocre, I'd suggest to eat before you go. Nice selection of alcoholic drinks. Restrooms were a disaster, no toilet liner nor toilet paper in many of the stalls. First off as you walk in any restaurant you acknowledge your customers but not here! Cynthia is the rudest bartender here at main event, bar area she should not be bartending if she is not having a good day! We tried calling her plenty of time but she gave 0 fks! She was too busy gossiping/flirting with one of the other bartenders. We ordered nachos and ice were dried like my grandmas heels! The Caesar salad we ordered was the most water down drenched lettuce with cotton thrown together look like throw up we ordered it with a boiled egg didn't come with it. We still had to ask for it. She still wouldn't acknowledge us or look at us or as as if we were doing OK our drinks and not come out till maybe 30 minutes later there was no one here to keep her busy so I know it wasn't because she was busy there was no one here she just didn't care. We did get good service from one of the other bartenders also Natalie. How ever spoke to Jimmy and I can honestly say we will come back only when Jimmy is here! There were dirty tables and booths when I walked in, the place didn't feel clean. Food portions aren't worth the money. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, no lettuce, no tomato, and no pickle, I got a piece of chicken on a bun, that's it, no sauce, no spices, at least at McDonald's I get mayo. Fries came with order, tasted dry and overcooked, I get more fries in a small fry at McDonald's. Server was nice, tried to be relatable and professional, but took 15 minutes to bring the drinks after he started getting dishes and silverware for a customer that came in after me. Overall food was okay, service could use a little improvement, tables need to be bused after each customer not when someone gets around to it, and the price is too high for the quality. read more

Love this place! Our friends invited us here with our kids and we seriously had the best time! The place is super clean, and they have everything from bowling to arcades, and places to sit and eat. We loved the private bowling rooms! We were interested in planning our kid's birthday parties and we spoke to the event sales manager, Cassandra, and she was so helpful and informative on the process. She went over and beyond to tell us what Main Event has to offer, and we can't thank her enough for showing us around the venue. We live all the way in Cerritos, and we are willing to drive all the way down to Montclair just to have our event here because of Cassandra. She is so sweet. For game play, this is a fun time. I don't take my arcade games, billiards or anything else very seriously. It's just a good way to spend quality time with friends and family. I would avoid coming here for dinner or lunch while you're playing. The service for the Family Kitchen was lacking. It took no time at all to get seated, but once we were, the service for taking and delivering our order was hit or miss, mostly miss. We had to source and find our own silverware and napkins while the staff had their lunch/dinner breaks in the booths behind us. The food was fine. The drinks were OK. I ordered a few orders of wings, I ordered the Slider and more platter $45.99 a salad that was on a 9 inch plate that was $15.99!! Here is where I have a problem, The salad was wilted and had brown lettuce on the verge of starting to rot! Come on Main event- you charge a premium at least serve fresh greens, the Celery with the wings was also brown, why would they serve that!! The service was great, the girls were extremely attentive, I would consider going back but will stay away from Anything that comes with vegetables. Main Event just opened up like a month ago, it's under Dave & Buster's. I was having high expectations for it. My girlfriend got the hot honey pepperoni pizza, but with the hot honey on the side, they messed up the order, had to get a new one. I give the pizza 6.5/10. I got a chargrilled chicken club sandwich, extra pickles (only got 1 pickle, one really..) like 10-14 pieces of fries, they are super stingy about their food quality & quantity and it's not good for restaurant or business either. I give the chicken sandwich like a 4/10. They need to step it up. I had to ask a food runner if I could get more fries. He did. On the alcohol side, if you're dining in and sitting on the outside tables beside the bar, 1 drink per patron, no more than that! I'm like, "what kind of rule is that?" The server said if you want to order more drinks, you got to sit by the bar area only. I came here for my gf's little cousin's 6th bday party. I'm not sure if management is bad or not enough workers, but they need to allow more than 1 alcoholic beverage and more fries for each entree order. Nobody, I mean nobody is gonna get full from eating like 13-14 pieces of fries, unless you're like a senior citizen. I wouldn't recommend the food part of this chain. I visited Main Event tonight with my four children to have dinner, bowl, and play games. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating from start to finish. We were seated and waited almost 35 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Eventually, someone came by, apologized for the delay, said our server would be with us shortly, and asked if they could get us started on anything. At that point, I ordered mozzarella sticks and two drinks for my kids. We went bowling, played games, and even took the kids to the restroom. When we returned to our table, there was a tap-to-pay device placed on the table, yet we still had not received our food -- nor had our actual server ever come to greet us. By this point, over an hour had passed. I noticed someone who appeared to be a manager and asked if she was one. Her response was, "I'm one of them," which was confusing and unhelpful. She did not attempt to resolve the issue and instead went to get another manager. I had already paid online for bowling and fun cards, so I stayed only because I didn't want to disappoint my kids. At that point, a manager offered food and brought out two orders of fries and mozzarella sticks in an attempt to fix the situation. While I appreciate the gesture, it did not come close to compensating for the lack of service and the time we had wasted. To make matters worse, our server finally came over -- with an attitude. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the delay, and zero remorse for the poor service we experienced. This was one of the worst dining and service experiences I've had, especially with children involved. I would never recommend this location to anyone I know. read more
