Came in to watch the laker Vs clipper game with my girlfriend, as we sat at the bar top we were asked "hey it's happy hour, what would you like to order" after a couple mins we checked out the menu, we orders a couple drinks and a dish. all was well till after the bartender presented the check and clearly it wasn't happy hour. She stated that there happy hours changed the week prior, she mentioned "so do you want me to change it or.....?" i'm guessing she was gonna correct her mistake, or at least honor her word. we watched the rest of the 4th quarter giving her 12mins to do so and no change was made. i understand that things change, but as someone (my self) who has bartended for 6+ years, small mistakes can be fixed. just honor your word, or learn you menu. thank you. read more

This was the first time going to Main Event and it was worth it! I went there for a friend's birthday and we started off with dinner. Cheeseburger sliders and mozzarella sticks were delicious, along with a Shirley Temple mocktails drink. The arcade is spacious and was a lot of fun. I felt like I got my money's worth from the fun card I got there. read more

Had my kids birthday party here and it was really fun. We didn't bowl, but they really enjoyed the laser tag and arcades with their friends. Kids had a great time and looks like many of the parents did too. Place is new and clean and enjoyable. Our party planner was great. She was nice and attentive to our party, making it pleasurable. Food and party were a little pricey, but better than some other places we've had previous birthdays at. For my wife and I, as long as our kids had fun is all that matters. Would definitely visit here again and if the kids want to have their birthday here again, we would consider it. read more

First off as you walk in any restaurant you acknowledge your customers but not here! Cynthia is the rudest bartender here at main event, bar area she should not be bartending if she is not having a good day! We tried calling her plenty of time but she gave 0 fks! She was too busy gossiping/flirting with one of the other bartenders. We ordered nachos and ice were dried like my grandmas heels! The Caesar salad we ordered was the most water down drenched lettuce with cotton thrown together look like throw up we ordered it with a boiled egg didn't come with it. We still had to ask for it. She still wouldn't acknowledge us or look at us or as as if we were doing OK our drinks and not come out till maybe 30 minutes later there was no one here to keep her busy so I know it wasn't because she was busy there was no one here she just didn't care. We did get good service from one of the other bartenders also Natalie. How ever spoke to Jimmy and I can honestly say we will come back only when Jimmy is here! If I can give Cynthia any stars I would give her 0 stars for her effort and hospitality! She has no customer service skills what so ever! I will give Jimmy a 5 star!!! He was the best with vouchers for free plays for my kids! Cynthia needs customer service training! read more

Thanks to Jimmy for making both My sons night very respectful and friendly definetly will be coming back soon...way to go!

Such a bummer to give this amazing place a 1 star. My husband and I have been coming here with our son since this place has opened. WE LOVE IT! And always talked so highly about it. But unfortunately today, that changed. The manager Jimmy, bald guy was very strange. He followed us around and kept staring at us. We're just a family out with our toddler, playing games, having a nice time together. But he made us feel VERY uncomfortable! Extremely uncomfortable. There's a difference between making sure the area is good, and following a family, in a very obvious way. Not cool and I would love to speak to someone above him. read more

Love this place! Our friends invited us here with our kids and we seriously had the best time! The place is super clean, and they have everything from bowling to arcades, and places to sit and eat. We loved the private bowling rooms! We were interested in planning our kid's birthday parties and we spoke to the event sales manager, Cassandra, and she was so helpful and informative on the process. She went over and beyond to tell us what Main Event has to offer, and we can't thank her enough for showing us around the venue. We live all the way in Cerritos, and we are willing to drive all the way down to Montclair just to have our event here because of Cassandra. She is so sweet. This place is like a fancier version of Dave and Busters. Service was a 10/10! We can't wait to go back! read more

For game play, this is a fun time. I don't take my arcade games, billiards or anything else very seriously. It's just a good way to spend quality time with friends and family. I would avoid coming here for dinner or lunch while you're playing. The service for the Family Kitchen was lacking. It took no time at all to get seated, but once we were, the service for taking and delivering our order was hit or miss, mostly miss. We had to source and find our own silverware and napkins while the staff had their lunch/dinner breaks in the booths behind us. The food was fine. The drinks were OK. The experience as a whole would have been better had we eaten dinner somewhere else. read more

I normally come here early in the morning right when they open, and in the past the place has always been spick-and-span and top-notch clean. This time, though, I went into the game room shortly after opening and noticed it was surprisingly sticky. Some of the joysticks felt dirty, and there were visible handprints all over the windows they were so foggy it was hard not to notice. I'm not sure what happened, but it definitely stood out. On the positive side, the bathroom was clean as usual. It smelled fresh and clean, which let me know it had been disinfected, and that personally didn't bother me. The bowling area was also clean and looked well maintained read more

Lost my wallet and Tabitha aka tabby helped me secure it. Thank you for the excellent customer service

What a fun place for a family day! We went to Main Event with our nephews and had a fantastic time. The server was attentive while we were bowling. The only thing we ordered was drinks and they were very good. We will definitely go back! read more

Daniel the sever, Luis the expo and Trent the Bartender is very helpful and funny. We really enjoyed having them all. They should all be promoted. 10/10 service for all of them. read more

Great spot to hang out before catching a movie--just a quick walk upstairs to AMC! The atmosphere is fun, the service is excellent, and there's plenty to do, from bowling to arcade games. The food and drinks are solid, making it a perfect place to relax and have a good time. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We had my son's surprise birthday party here last night and I must say, they went above and beyond with everything. Setting up the party, being attentive and constantly checking on us. We had over 20 kids plus their parents! I would like to give a special shout out to the staff who helped us, Gabriel and Alyssa! You guys were awesome! Also the manager Jimmy! He made my son feel so special! This was by far one of the best birthday parties we've had! I highly recommend doing a kids birthday here! Thank you again main event! read more

We closed our daughter's birthday weekend with a trip here, on a Sunday evening. We purchased the unlimited play $46.99. Which came with food, arcade, bowling and laser tag. It's worth it. We really enjoyed everything from the food to laser tag. I personally think it's better than Dave & Busters. I was happy to see sanitizer stations and wipes available around the place. I recommend this place read more

jimmy had great costumer service laser tag was super fun and Him and His crew Made the experience so much better!

Had a birthday party here, definitely a fun place for the kids, lots of things to do BUT they really need to improve the food quality. I ordered a few orders of wings, I ordered the Slider and more platter $45.99 a salad that was on a 9 inch plate that was $15.99!! Here is where I have a problem, The salad was wilted and had brown lettuce on the verge of starting to rot! Come on Main event- you charge a premium at least serve fresh greens, the Celery with the wings was also brown, why would they serve that!! The service was great, the girls were extremely attentive, I would consider going back but will stay away from Anything that comes with vegetables. The ambience is excellent, bathrooms needed some attention, their hand sanitizer dispensers all empty- in my opinion that extremely important in a place like this. read more

Main Event just opened up like a month ago, it's under Dave & Buster's. I was having high expectations for it. My girlfriend got the hot honey pepperoni pizza, but with the hot honey on the side, they messed up the order, had to get a new one. I give the pizza 6.5/10. I got a chargrilled chicken club sandwich, extra pickles (only got 1 pickle, one really..) like 10-14 pieces of fries, they are super stingy about their food quality & quantity and it's not good for restaurant or business either. I give the chicken sandwich like a 4/10. They need to step it up. I had to ask a food runner if I could get more fries. He did. On the alcohol side, if you're dining in and sitting on the outside tables beside the bar, 1 drink per patron, no more than that! I'm like, "what kind of rule is that?" The server said if you want to order more drinks, you got to sit by the bar area only. I came here for my gf's little cousin's 6th bday party. I'm not sure if management is bad or not enough workers, but they need to allow more than 1 alcoholic beverage and more fries for each entree order. Nobody, I mean nobody is gonna get full from eating like 13-14 pieces of fries, unless you're like a senior citizen. I wouldn't recommend the food part of this chain. Bowling, arcade and billiards, that's a different story. They have decent sports to watch for now. I wish the food service was better.. read more

So happy!!! We had our son's 8th birthday party here and would definitely recommend it!!! To the hostess that greeted us at the front (Gabrielle, I believe...she does it all). She was so helpful, leading us to the event center (with a warm smile); To the event planner who spoke in "code" (so that we kept it a surprise for him), spelling every word over the phone to not let on that this party was for him; To the party hostess Alma!!! Listen, besides the cool haircut and the fantastic earrings she "borrowed" from her daughter, she was fun, easy going, great with the little ones, and just all around a sweetheart!!! Thank you to all 3 ladies INCLUDING the kitchen team, the cocktail servers, and the team at Laser tag for making our son's birthday a relaxing and memorable one!!! read more

Zero stars. We walked in. As instructed by the sign, we waited for the host. And waited for the host. The bartender saw us and told us to hold on. And we waited for the host. You can't have good service or good food if there is no service in the first place. We walked out. read more

Previously attended a funtion here and returned for another evening of fun! Had such a great time this evening as well! Food is reasonably priced and quality good. Looking for something a little more gourmet? Plenty of places just a stones throw from here. Play a little here, grab a bite, either here or locally, return here for some more fun. Simple. Associates all very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. Its an arcade/bowling alley so expect a little noise. Overall, a place you come back to on the regular. read more

First time here 3/16 for a birthday. Great deals on games & activities. 12.99 unlimited plays on Monday night. Service completely sucked we waited forever just to order & get bill. Food super mediocre, I'd suggest to eat before you go. Nice selection of alcoholic drinks. Restrooms were a disaster, no toilet liner nor toilet paper in many of the stalls. We didn't get to bowl or play lazr tag but we did play pool. Cool place to hang out with friends & family. They really need more staff members. read more

I am so disappointed at Main Event. They literally cancelled my booking for my son's birthday one week before. They told me that someone was going to pay more so they decided to cancel mine. Wanted to find a bowling alley. Didn't realize this place isn't real bowling, but a pins on strings, fake floor kind of thing. Probably ok for kids parties but not for bowlers. Main Event had a vibe like a Private Equity company mated with ChatGPT and spawned a a soulless inauthentic family experience that has everything but doesn't do anything well. $9 service charge to make an online reservation, greeted by a bank of machines when you arrive and no welcome desk, no food servers came to our lane, out of menu items, advertisements of how amazing their food is on screens and over the PA, digital games for bowling kinda boring, game room extremely loud and no decor.. overall if you want to have an expensive, loud kids party and just want to park at a table and drink while the kids over rev on sugar and electronics, this is your place. read more

Compared to John's incredible pizza. I was hoping for better staff and food quality for paying 145.00 for one hour of bowling, 2 snacks and 3 drinks with no refills and 2 shakes. I wouldn't recommend this place for kiddos or adults on the ASD spectrum. I also recommend gender neutral guest only because the employees seemed offended when I called my female born daughter who now wants to be referred to as Nash. After that our waitress was hard to get a hold of and the other employees kept redirecting us when we asked for help. We saw 10 employees standing talking to each other. When we asked for help or napkins they said "we will tell your waiter". Even though different employees brought our food and drinks, non gave us napkins or asked if we needed anything else. Andrea did come back said she sorry and was busy. Luckily I had some wipes in my purse. The restroom is clean and has TP to use as napkins. The bumpers and bowling ball guide rail on the bowling lane were a good touch for our group. When I asked for the paper receipt Andrea said she had to get it. She never came back. My ASD kids were getting agitated so I left after a while. I called the Main Event and after the third call from Ray I got my receipt via email. It could have gone worse. Just be conservative and give a big tip preferably in cash. This place is good for straight neurotypical teens, & young adults of drinking ages. And remember to bring money this place is pricy but clean. read more

Went tonight to take the kids to play some video games, bowl, and give mom a nice break to relax at home. The arcade was great, plenty of games for all ages, varying prices, and just a lot of fun. My kids and I had a blast, the game card we got lasted awhile (little over 2 hours) and I'm pretty sure we experienced everything we wanted to, a few of the VR games we did not do but only because we were running short on time and needed to eat dinner. The food. My kids loved the food and I thought my chicken sandwich was fairly good, good crisp and flavor or sandwich and my kids loved their burger and chicken tenders. My only complaint was I wish the fries had been hotter but other than that everything was good. Service was quick, efficient, and the server was very friendly, actually everyone there was super friendly asking if we needed anything throughout our dinner. We did not get to bowl as it got pretty busy by the time we got there to the arcade (430pm), we just did not book anything. We could have bowled around 8pm but the kids needed to get to bed. The liked the general vide of Main Event compared to Big Al's, to me it just seemed and felt more family friendly. Overall great trip and recommend Main Event. read more

We celebrated my son's 13th birthday with the Teen All Access birthday package. We went on a Wednesday and stayed for about three hours. Since it wasn't busy, the kids didn't have to wait for bowling lanes or laser tag, which was a big plus. The package included burger sliders, chicken nuggets, french fries, and churros. The food seemed frozen and just warmed up, and the kids barely touched any of it. We added pizza to our order, which was decent for the kids to eat. The biggest issue was the one-hour limit for bowling and food. That hour had to cover bowling, eating, and cake time, which felt rushed. I'm not sure why we had to move since it wasn't crowded, and though we relocated to the dining area, it was inconvenient to hurry the kids while they were having fun. On the positive side, the kids were allowed to sign up for bowling again afterward with no time limit, which didn't make much sense considering we had a one-hour time limit at the beginning, but at least they could play longer. I understand the staff was following policy, but management should consider extending the bowling-and-food portion to at least 90 minutes. I took off two stars due to the food quality and the limited time for bowling and eating at the start of the party. Overall, it's a nice place for a kids' birthday party. The kids enjoyed bowling, laser tag, and the unlimited (but limited) arcade games. read more

There were dirty tables and booths when I walked in, the place didn't feel clean. Food portions aren't worth the money. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, no lettuce, no tomato, and no pickle, I got a piece of chicken on a bun, that's it, no sauce, no spices, at least at McDonald's I get mayo. Fries came with order, tasted dry and overcooked, I get more fries in a small fry at McDonald's. Server was nice, tried to be relatable and professional, but took 15 minutes to bring the drinks after he started getting dishes and silverware for a customer that came in after me. Overall food was okay, service could use a little improvement, tables need to be bused after each customer not when someone gets around to it, and the price is too high for the quality. read more

This place has bowling, an arcade, laser tag, and a restaurant with a bar. Everyone was friendly with great customer service. Until the end of the night.
