Been living in Upland for years and finally got a chance to try out this Bowlero location. Our…read morefriends wanted to go bowling and kindly invited us to tag along. Always plenty of parking here and the location is super easy to find. When we arrived there was a long line of people, but our friends were already checked in and we just had to get our shoes. The lane we were given was a decent size, couch on either side for each lane. I do like the surfboard tables, but they were kind of in the way and narrow with the table next to us every time we got up to bowl. Especially since the other table had pizza that was sticking out and I was nervous to knock it over every time I got up. We did unlimited games for 2 hours, that gave us enough time to get about 3 games in. I noticed plenty of balls were already in the ball return, so not sure if people go grab balls, or if they are just placed there to grab from. There were plenty of size options for the balls BUT I hate that we had to share with the lane next to us because they were eating pizza and grabbing the same balls and every time I went up the ball felt super greasy and gross. Cosmic bowling was really cool! Fun music videos and movies and other videos being shown on the screens down the lanes. I was expecting it to be darker inside though and having the black light pop out more. Inside also has a bar, food to order, arcade area, bathrooms and saw some people celebrating their birthday. They go all out with a neon sign and you're given a bowling pin that everyone signs. So that's cool to know if you plan on celebrating here. The manger was also kind and gave our friends coupons to come again and bowl two free games on their next visit so I thought that was really nice! All in all, I haven't been bowling in a minute, but it was fun to get together with friends, have a beer and just have fun!

Not sure why my review got taken down…read more Service is terrible, bartenders and kitchen staff are very rude. They seem to have attitude on busy nights. Bowling balls are a free for all, meaning if there's none out to take... well you gotta wait until someone is done with their balls. Mind you, I had to wait 15 minutes just to get balls for my family; and the balls I did get were greasy and nasty. Women's Restroom had no toilet paper. This place used to be good, but you're better off going to the bowling alley in Pomona or Rancho. THIS PLACE SUCKS

It's a striking building to look at especially during the evenings. A blast from the past with the smells to go with it. 32 Lanes as it proudly states out front, and we were given lane #26. Plenty of the lanes available too, and with that a large selection of balls. The lights were dimly lit in the place, and folks of all levels were playing that night. Fancy high-powered spinning and frequent gutter balls, we were squarely near the lower end of that spectrum. Different game modes on the screen included cartoons/animations of bowling pins, sea creatures, and comic book characters, which added some charm to an otherwise similar experience. At one point, the guys on the lane to the left gave us some good pointers, though I cannot say I will bowl enough to retain any of the muscle memory. All in all, a nice way to spend the evening.

We went bowling, bought snacks, shoe rental and spent an additional $132 on 4 game cards with convenience fee. Bowling was fun although we had to ask an attendant to remove the bumpers. They appeared to be on all lanes and was a very intense process to get them off. Also we had a wonderful snack attendant who served us initially when we got there. I did not catch her name but she had long braids and suggested a pitcher of soda for our family as a better value than 4 standard drinks. I do want to stress that this is a cashless business and I do not support digital only businesses. I purchased summer bowling passes for my teenagers for a killer deal but am concerned on how they will be able to purchase snacks if I'm not there with my credit card but I believe there's a machine that converts cash into card. I'm not certain if that's what I heard. They had a lot of fun games for all ages to play. Beware as per usual to most Arcades with the exception of D&B's in my opinion it's going to take several $100's if not $1000's of dollars to obtain a decent prize. Unless you win jackpots. My boy's plan to save their tickets until they can get Something they want. There were a-lot Of teenage congregant's as usual to any arcade. One group threw an empty game card at my shoulder and were laughing when I looked up. Nevertheless it was a fun time.

I've now been here twice to bowl, and unfortunately both experiences were frustrating enough that I…read morewon't be bowling here again. Both visits had the same issue: the group next to us had no sense of bowling etiquette, and it was never addressed by staff. Their parties were oversized and ended up spilling into our space sitting in our seats, placing drinks on our table, and generally taking over the shared area. On top of that, their kids repeatedly came over to our lane, touching our tablet and interfering with our game. It made it really hard to enjoy what we paid for. What made it worse is that both times, the groups next to us were visibly drunk. That kind of environment might be expected at a bar, but when it starts impacting other guests' experience especially families it becomes a problem. There didn't seem to be any staff intervention to manage the situation or maintain a respectful atmosphere. Another frustrating point was the check-in process. I brought my own Brunswick bowling shoes, but I was still told I had to rent a pair anyway. The employee even said I could "just do whatever with them," which honestly makes no sense and feels like an unnecessary charge. Policies like that don't feel customer-friendly. To be fair, Big Al's is a fun place overall. The arcade games and general hangout vibe are great, and I'd still come back for that. But the bowling experience itself just isn't worth it based on what I've experienced. There's definitely room for improvement staff should be more proactive about enforcing basic bowling etiquette, making sure groups stay within their assigned seating areas and respect neighboring lanes. Better monitoring, especially when alcohol is involved, could help prevent disruptive behavior. Clear limits on group sizes per lane, ensuring kids stay within their own lane, and revisiting the shoe rental policy for guests who bring their own equipment would all go a long way in improving the experience. There's definitely potential here, but the bowling side needs better structure and oversight.

There's bowling available, karaoke, and a food area in between. Entrance is accessible through the mall or through the parking lot. Parking is free, plentiful in a sizeable lot for the Puentes Hill Mall. I've had my R1 card for over a decade and I've seen them have many collaborations over the years, most offer different collab plushies, and when you refill your credits, you usually get a extra reward from it. (etc: keychains, various merch, tumblers, and sometimes even a different R1 physical card) If you're a big fan of arcades, this is the spot to go. My partner and I always come out with 5+ plushies every time and it's to the point where people be staring at us for having so many plushies. Some of the claw machines though are a bit tough, to the point where it does feel a bit rigged as it's coded differently. My favorite are the triple claws rather than the dual claws, they're definitely better in terms of catching plushies out. Besides the claw machine, there's a variety of games machines in the back. They consist of racing, dancing, sports, RNG games, etc, all in the fun of the games. Some games give you tickets where you can redeem points from your card to get extra rewards, take it like a points shop. Overall, a very fun, spacious, and considerably expensive spot. You have so much fun in here that the time passes quite quickly. R1 is pretty clean and they have a great amount of staff that are able to assist you accordingly. Great spot overall.

We ordered multiple alcoholic drinks, a beer bucket, and food. The cook was very kind and even made wings for us though he was about to finish -- he was the only positive part of the night. The issue was the bar staff. The bartender was rude from the start. Later, I asked for a simple cup of tap water and was told they only sell bottled water (Arrowhead). I explained I had already purchased food and alcohol and just wanted tap water. Instead of handling it professionally, he whispered to another bartender and directed me to a man behind the bar. When I repeated my request, I was told, "We're trying to make a profit." That response was unacceptable. After spending money there, being treated like a problem over a cup of water was disappointing. I was eventually given a very small cup. I also ran into a friend who mentioned the service here is consistently bad, so this doesn't seem like a one-time issue.
