It's a striking building to look at especially during the evenings. A blast from the past with the smells to go with it. 32 Lanes as it proudly states out front, and we were given lane #26. Plenty of the lanes available too, and with that a large selection of balls. The lights were dimly lit in the place, and folks of all levels were playing that night. Fancy high-powered spinning and frequent gutter balls, we were squarely near the lower end of that spectrum. Different game modes on the screen included cartoons/animations of bowling pins, sea creatures, and comic book characters, which added some charm to an otherwise similar experience. At one point, the guys on the lane to the left gave us some good pointers, though I cannot say I will bowl enough to retain any of the muscle memory. All in all, a nice way to spend the evening.

I grew up in Japan and I've been going to R1 since 2005〜 Machines are pretty frequently updated here and it's maintained somewhat good. Time to time there are some rhythm games that has faulty censor, but I'm sure it will improve in the future as I've seen this place improve as a whole. One of the downsides for me is Spotcha, as a lot of their "sports" games/machines tends to be faulty and the last 3 times I went, the batting cage especially tends to not be working, but still letting people in. If it needs maintenance, I think people will understand if they put a barricade or a sign that says "under maintenance" rather than just leaving it open and people will just go home disappointed. Keep the actually working ones open, and close/put up a sign might help with maintaining customer satisfaction level. I think they're doing a great job with brining in colab's though!

The have 2 lines. The line by the lockers are for the bowling, billiards, etc. The line closer to the food is for arcade and the crane machines. I specifically came for the arcade games. They have 2 options, one to get a physical card for $2 or digital for $5. For the credits to play, if you pay an higher amount there would be bonus credits. The recommended option for the physical card is load $55 for 300 credits that includes a $20 bonus. There's a variety of arcade games from shooting hoops, table hockey, DDR, instrument playing, and mario cart. They have a machine outside the prize room for you to check how many tickets you have. The prize room has a variety of small and large prizes. Overall a good place for entertainment.

Make sure your whole group is together before start time so you all play at the same time and no one misses out. Our group was a bunch of 5/6/7 year olds and the group they played against was 10-12 year olds so I felt like that was a little unfair but no one got seriously hurt so that's all you can ask for. My least favorite part was the arcade. Some of the games weren't working so that's a bust. Our kids were too young to use the VR game so it would have been nice if they got to ride the bumper cars twice instead of just losing out on that. On top of that there was only one person staffing the VR game, the mini bowling and the bumper cars so it was like 10-15 minutes between each option and there were only maybe 8 bumper cars so when there's a line the kids had to wait about 20 minutes just to ride the bumper cars. There were lines for the bumper cars and the VR so no one used the bowling because there wasn't enough staff. The pizza was fine, I believe you can order other stuff outside the party pizza if you want.

Clean, empty (we came on a weekday), and we still didn't get to try all the amenities. $30 for 3 hours honestly got us through arcade games, bowling, playing pool and volleyball. Coming back years later with somewhat optimistic expectations, it sadly now looks like a shell of what it could have been. On Sunday afternoon, we decided to check out Spo-Cha since we had nothing else to do while hanging out with friends. While I was already anticipating having to use shared equipment, it was honestly really gross seeing communal sports equipment just being hung up after use or thrown in the same bin for the next person to use... and not to mention, everything was VERY sweaty too. There were no attendants actively cleaning equipment (maybe one at the roller rink) and no form of paper towels or sprays to at least allow you to clean between use. Not sure if I was more afraid of potentially getting lice or ringworm, but I tried to avoid touching anything with cloth while I was there. If you're a parent, consider bringing extra disinfectant wipes or hand sanitizer. The bathrooms were not the cleanest but were fine if you're just washing your hands frequently. Not to mention, there were kids running amok throughout the establishment. Again, while it is to be expected, I was still a little concerned seeing there be a lack of parental supervision for a LOT of young kids (toddlers included). Not only is it dangerous for them, who likely don't know any better, but also for older teens and adults trying to avoid knocking them over when they disrupt games or recklessly run into people around the roller rink. While at the very least, most of the sports were fine to play (e.g. billiards, table tennis, volleyball, pickleball, etc.), when it came to the arcade... half the machines were broken. And even if they worked, then a third of those would have something wrong with it. At that point, you'd rather spend your money at Round 1 next door for arcade games and somewhat of a nicer experience. Moving on to the dining area... We did get thirsty after a while and, after noticing a pitcher of water at an empty table, we asked if we could order one as well. The staff (hiding behind the self-order kiosks, since you do not have the option to order at the register) let us know that a pitcher of water costs $8. Needless to say, consider eating and drinking before/after you come here (or just fork up a few extra dollars for a soda instead). Sure, you can say that you get what you pay for, but this place seems to have been going downhill for a while. The only person really working was the employee in a black button up checking us in and out at the counter. He was very courteous and efficient, but seemed pretty overworked. Not sure what things look like behind the scenes, but it doesn't seem like anyone else other than him really cared about the quality or reputation of this place. Overall, if you're looking for a place to kill 3 hours with a $30 budget, you've found it. If you keep your expectations low enough, it's honestly not that terrible of a spot to try different sports or get a little exercise in while having some semblance of fun. But, if you have the chance to avoid it, avoid it. Or instead, consider catching a movie at AMC or heading to Round 1 before it meets the same fate as Spo-Cha.
