This place is BEAUTIFUL! And the owner has such amazing can't say enough good things about Sabrina, the owners of the Banquet Hall. Thank you to The Sweeten Hall for an amazing Mehindi night experience. I hosted my niece Mehindi night party at The Sweeten Hall and everything went fantastic from start to finish. Sabrina you are the best. The love and care that you provided has made this day even more special for my niece. I Would highly recommend Sweeten Hall for any of your small or large event.

Amanda was incredible I want to make it known that she was by our side every step of the way. she is amazing and takes her job seriously not only was she professional on everything she did for us but she took it upon herself to make sure everything was running smoothly the day of our wedding. I hope her hardwork is recognized and is compensated! Thank you Amanda for making our day extra special may God pour his blessings over you each and every way!- Felix and Tania.

Literally a hidden gem. I have lived near this venue for a decade and didn't know it was here! My…read moresister found it when we were desperate to find a location for a Celebration of Life service for my son. Hidden Oaks was perfect! We had a short time frame, a tight budgets (his death was a surprise, which makes for a surprise budget as well), and a whole lot of unknowns -- like how many guests there would be. That's rough event planning. Sheryl and our coordinator Lyndsay were incredibly flexible, kind, and understanding. I will always be grateful to them for this. We paid for the additional assistance of two staffers -- Helping Hands, for $20 per hour. Well-worth it, and they were lovely. Highly recommend. Lyndsay was an absolute SAINT putting up with all our question marks on this day. She was calm, professional, and had everything under control. Since I was crying half the time, I was very thankful for her presence. Our guests were blown away with how beautiful the venue was. Most guests were local and they were as surprised as we were! So here's what you need to know about this venue: --it is gorgeous, shady, clean and just lovely. Perfect for a smallish event of about 100-200, IMO. --it is disabled accessible, although it is a historical property. --you cannot hear the freeway at all once you are inside the venue --pricing is VERY reasonable and you won't have a catering minimum. --it has Padua Hills vibes, but the catering minimum there is $10K and you have to use their caterer -- no thank you. --big money saver: they have tables, chairs, umbrellas, and they set up of all that. You only need to rent linens. --There is a kitchen, but it is not really for cooking. More for staging and refilling. It has a commercial fridge and a freezer, so we kept ice and extra cheese and desserts to refill. The caterers used it, but we didn't cook there. --it has both indoor and outdoor spaces, which makes it great for rain plans. --there is no alcohol, no smoking of any kind, and music needs to be the Disney version. It is owned by a Christian church, so values need to align there. They mean these things. Respect this. For us, this was no problem, since we needed a sober venue for the respect of some of our guests. We simply printed a disclaimer on our invitations. --you probably need extra signage at the entrance because it is easy to miss. You need to allow time for people to get in if you have a lot of guests. --Cheryl was organized -- we had a pre-meeting where she gave us a tour and a folder of all the details (table sizes, rules, helpful vendor contacts, etc) In our case, we welcomed guests on the north side of the building, had an espresso bar on the west patio, then directed guests to the back yard where the gazebo is. We held the "ceremony" part of the event by the gazebo, but we didn't really decorate at all (we didn't want it to feel like a wedding). Then we invited guests into the house and to the north side of the property, where one would normally have a reception for snacks and socializing. There are lots of little rooms and places where groups of guests can socialize within the house. For us, that worked because groups of my son's friends could reminisce together in their own social groups. We had no real need for flowers, because the facility was beautiful by itself. I hope this venue helps!

We got to see bunnies, rabbits, turtles, and so many different types of birds. It was such a peaceful and beautiful experience being surrounded by nature. Whether you're looking for a relaxing nature walk, want to explore the trails, or enjoy a nice hike, this is a great place to visit. I definitely recommend coming here if you love nature and wildlife!

Claremont, CA This…read morebotanic garden has grown on me. There are so many varieties of California native plants and they do have a nursery that is usually open a few days a week but is closed for Summer and reopening in October, 2026. What I love about this property is the sprawling amount of walkway to take a nice walk. You'll find enough shade along the way but many parts are not shaded. The pathways are decomposed granite, concrete and or asphalt so it's like hiking in nature but without the dirt road or elevation gain. I also really love that it's not crowded here. It's also smack dab in the middle of nature so you will occasionally see wild animal poop on a path, cracks that have not been repaired, but none of that really bothers me. There are plenty of benches along the path and a restroom on one side of the property so plan accordingly. They used to have a nice gift shop here and novelties like hats, t shirts, children's toys, books are now displayed in a small outdoor kiosk near to where you check in. California Botanic Garden is a member of the American Horticultural Network of Gardens (AHS). So if you have an annual membership at one of the participating Gardens associated with AHS Gardens you automatically have access to visit all of the gardens in network, unlimited visits for no additional charge. It is nice being a member at one garden and having access to visit hundreds of gardens. Currently, 380 gardens participate in this Network throughout parts of United States and Territories of U.S.A., Canada, and Cayman Islands. https://ahsgardening.org/ahs-garden-network/ I copy and pasted the exerpt below from AI but it has been a treat to see the blooms and how they change color, specifically Native California Buckwheat which can be seen along many hills and roadsides in California. To observe how the plant changes and matures in different seasons is quite fascinating: "Native California Buckwheat flowers start out white (or pale pink/creamy) and transition through shades of orange, cinnamon, rust, and deep red-brown as they age and dry out into summer and fall. Flower Color Changes Fresh Blooms (Spring): Tiny clusters open up as bright, clean white or pale pink. Aging and Drying (Summer): As the weather heats up and soil dries, the petals shift into rusty orange, copper, and tan. Late Season (Fall/Winter): The spent flower heads mature into deep rust-red and chocolate brown tones across the hillsides." I truly enjoy seeing the change of colors on each visit, they are so bright and vibrant! Look for it, and you will find a lot of beauty in the varied California native plant foliage and blooms on this property. Visiting seasonally gives the best picture. For example, The 1000's of large Matilija poppies which resemble a crinkly giant sunny side up egg just finished peak bloom a few months ago. They will be back!
