The intimate size of the property worked perfectly for our smaller wedding and being able to add certain rental spaces helped us tailor the property to fit our needs. Shelly and all of the staff at the Garner House were all so incredibly kind and helpful through the process. I went on a tour for my wedding venue that will be in October 2026 and Shelly was so great and attentive to all my questions (and I had a lot hehe). We held a small family event at Garner House. As other reviewers have mentioned - it is a hidden gem! The venue is beautiful, space is ample, yet very cozy, ambiance is like nowhere else. Everyone was very forthcoming and accommodating from the start - showing us around, recommending how to utilize the space, being very responsive regarding deliveries and communication with rental company, just to name a few! My husband and I were married here on 8/25/17. We worked very closely with Rachele planning for our big day and her attention to detail is outstanding. I was never stressed about the venue leading up to the wedding, and everything went as planned on the day of the event. She made herself available leading up to the wedding for any last minute questions or concerns that we had, and was also on site the day of. The venue it's self is beautiful. We rented the courtyard, the living room, and the side room, and we didn't need to add any decorations, besides an archway for the ceremony. We had about 100 guests in attendance and it was the perfect fit for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. Although the parking lot is small, there was plenty of street parking for our guests. This venue was also reasonably priced compared to similar capacity venues in the area. 5 stars for a beautiful location in a historic building with lots of greenery. 5 starts for Rachele because she's the best to work with. read more

I had my wedding here in March 2018 in the courtyard. We had it planned for 70 and we didn't plan for rain, but as luck would have it- it rained on our wedding day. We had to get a tent last minute. Rachele, who helps coordinate events at the Garner House, helped us get a tent from the vendor and helped us coordinate how we were going to fit everything under the tent as well as the covered areas in the courtyard! It worked out perfectly! The guests were able to access food and the tent without getting wet and we were still able to enjoy the beautiful courtyard! I had my wedding ceremony and reception here just a few days ago and it was a really beautiful event. I love the fact that it is so beautiful without really having to add any decorations. Rachele was very helpful in organizing the event before hand and getting you the day. All my guests raved about how beautiful the venue was. My only real criticism of this place as a venue is they are extremely stingy with the time they afford you. In fact the time constraints are down right militant. 7 hours from set up to clean up and not one minute more are they charge you steep overtime. This is something Rachele mentions over and over...and over. And I understand why, she really doesn't want you to be caught off guard with extra charges. But let me tell you, getting this event pulled off in this time frame was really stressful. Also they only allow you to do a rehearsal on the Thursday before your event which is useless when you have a Saturday wedding and the majority of the wedding party is coming in the night before. We had to cram set up, rehearsal, and photos in such a tiny window. I don't mean to harp on the negative when I did have a nice event, but I think it's really important for people considering this venue to understand. 7 hours only. No wiggle room, no flexibility. I do understand having a hard out time. When it's time to be out you gotta get people out. But the venue is literally sitting empty all day until your scheduled set up time but for some reason they absolutely won't let you step foot until the 7 hours begin. I think they should allow people to come to the courtyard at least, anytime during the day to set up. Being able to set up and rehearse during the morning would have made the day go so much better. I say all this because the stress this extremely limited window gave me did in fact impact how much I was able to enjoy my wedding as a whole. Just something for you to consider. I'm sure for many this is not an issue, but for me it really impacted the day. Otherwise beautiful and fairly affordable. read more

We (the bridal party) rented the Garner House to throw a bridal shower last month. There were no hidden rental fees, the contract is straightforward. The Garner House gives you freedom to do pretty much whatever you please (you don't have to use particular vendors - or any vendors at all). The venue is absolutely beautiful and has so much charm. Rachele was the coordinator I worked with and she always responded to my questions in a timely manner and even sent me a few reminders of items people often forget a few days prior to the shower which I really appreciated. I was a little nervous about not being able to drop off any shower items in advance - we had a 2 1/2 hour set up time & that was it. That ended up being PLENTY of time and the set up couldn't have gone any smoother. The shower turned out absolutely perfect! read more

The Garner House is a hidden gem... It is absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with this place from the start and this is where our wedding took place on 2/11! The courtyard is gorgeous and is lit up with bistro lights that give this place the perfect touch come dark. Unfortunately for me, the forecast called for rain. It was a last min decision to add a tent. And of course with my luck there ended being no rain. Even with the tent in the way of showing off this cute little courtyard, our guests still seen its true potential and loooved the place!!! The staff was very friendly every time we visited and Rachele, who is the event coordinator for The Garner House is an absolute angel. She went above and beyond for us. She was very helpful throughout the whole process of me planning my wedding. There is one downfall, which is time. Your event must end at 8:30pm. If you want an over the top extravagant wedding with fireworks and party all night long, then this place is not for you. This place is perfect for the couple whose main focus is really just to be married at a reasonable price at beautiful location and celebrate! With that being your main focus you will make the time work for you. We had about 100 guests, had our ceremony and reception here, made time for cocktail hour and yes there was still time for dancing! We had plans to leave town after the reception so it worked out perfect for us!
