I was reluctant after looking at reviews being I wanted to take the family bowling and the reviews did not really touch on the bowling as much as parties. I wanted to reserve a lane at 7:15 on a Saturday evening. I used the online reservation system. First off It seemed easy to use until it reserved four pairs of shoes for the 4 registered players, problem is 3 of us already own shoes and the system would not let me take the shoes off the reservation. Another issue was the site wanted me to pay via credit card in advance, I planned on paying cash when I arrived. Still.....the shoes still had not been removed from my bill. Two hours of bowling and 4 pairs of shoes....96.43!!! No don't think so! So I called, the girl on the phone was not helpful at all! She informed me that there is no way to access the site to change the removal of the shoe charges. As well there is no way to reserve a lane unless you reserve it on line and pay via credit card! I wanted to pay cash, it is truly sad how many people refuse to use cash!!! So that being said......never went, never bowled, never will ever consider go there for any reason ever! read more

So Im a native Houstonian who grew up in the era of Astroworld / Hannah Barbera Land / Fame City / the Dave & Buster's Original location on Richmond. That being said, it's pretty tough for modern-day Houston to impress me in the family entertainment realm. Don't get me wrong, it's a new, clean, spacious establishment, but something about it, maybe the layout, just doesn't flow and the workers were really not that friendly on a late Saturday night. It was our first time there and an hour before close and none of the workers wanted to accomodate us in the laser tag or bowling area. And we were wiling to pay!!They were even going to charge us the full $34/hr PLUS SHOE RENTAL for 30-45mins of bowling. Like who does that? I'll stay on my side of town and go to D&B's. Well if it's a busy night, you'll be waiting for awhile to get a bowling lane or laser tag. This place is alright although the bowling lane malfunctioned a couple of times, but nothing that the front desk could fix. This is probably the 2nd time I've been to a bowling alley that had an almost full bar. I say almost because I asked for a Jameson & Ginger and they didn't have Ginger Ale. What kind of bar doesn't have ginger ale?! The bar service was annoying slow and the bartender somehow forgot about me as he started to get a drink order from someone who just stood there 10 minutes while I was there for almost 1/2 hour. Had such a wonderful experience with Main Event. My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in one of their guest rooms. It was an absolute joy to have a fun party while being able to not worry about being loud. We had the tailgate buffet and it was for the most part delicious however the buns felt a little stiff, the hamburgers were undercooked and in the buffet description it said we would have bratwurst but I never realized until the event was over, that there was none. That was disappointing. The waiter assigned to our room was awesome! Keep everyone in drinks and even helped us set up. Even though I wanted almost complete control over everything. I hate to delegate. Lastly I was somewhat disappointed in the sound system. We did finally have to give up the mic because there was way to much feed back. This establishment personifies Satan in all of its business practices. Ok that was too far but now I have your attention. They regularly hold private parties and do not notify patrons that hours are regularly changing. My buddy and I wanted to play a friendly game of pool and the hours said they close at 2:00am. We arrived at 10:30pm expecting to get in a few games of pool and a couple adult beverages. We set up the game, which we paid for, bought a round of drinks, and assumed all was normal. Then abruptly at 11:05 a main event associate told us we needed to leave and that they were closed for 5 minutes already. He started to put our pool balls up and took out drinks away from us. Not only were we treated poorly but we were never told that they would close early. They let us waste money on drinks and pool we didn't even get to finish. They were not apologetic but completely rude. They acted like we were making it hard for them. This is a terrible way to run a business and I will never come here again read more

So I had an Adult birthday (28th) party here this past Friday. Everyone had fun. In Houston, you also have D&B further down I10, and you been to several other party places in town. I have to say this Main Event is by far the cleanest I've been to. It might be because it's newer than others, or maybe they have a staff that actually does their job. But it's clean. Party was at 8pm, Friday on the summer. It isn't roaming with tons of kids like you'd think. The music and atmosphere wasn't that loud at all. You could hear the music on the system, you could still have a conversation with someone next to you. Now if you wanted to talk to someone across the table, you might have to speak up just a little bit. Bowling lanes (that's the package A party, 2 hours of bowling) was fun. And things you expect at usual. It was fun, people rarely not have fun while bowling right? If you just roll out the ball down the lane, you'll like it. If you bowl with a spin, you'll need to adjust your game a bit. The wax/coating on the lane is a little low just before the pins, so you'll put your spin down the lane and roll off into the gutter just before contact. LOL, but that's part of the fun, but that's a head-up. Food: Big point of the party. Did the tailgate package, So burgers, brats and dogs. Chips and dips of queso, spinach, or salsa. The cheese and spinach dip was good. Hot dogs were made well, you can't screw up hot dogs right? Brats were nice. Burgers, had the flattop kind of taste, but still nice. Cheese for burgers was nice, not your cheap singles like the market, nice slices of swiss, cheddar or american. The buns were a bit hard/dry/stale. They weren't great but serviceable. If had to do it again, I'd would choose the 'causal night out' with the boneless chicken and build your own tacos and sliders. I think that set of meal is more bowling friendly. lol. No soft drinks for the package, water and ice tea. You can buy a fountain drink with re-fills all night at the pizza place. Staff: Attentive and friendly. I dealt mostly with those in the black vest, not any of the blue polo staff. The event person or manager was friendly and checked up on us a few times. We had a cake, they provided us the cutlery and plates, no problem. They helped the food, took our photo, got us anything that we needed. I couldn't complain. We had to wait a little bit for them to bring our checks after we put down payment (i assume they got busy). We chilled around after, so it wasn't a biggie. Just an observation. It's not a bad place to have a party. I would do it again. 10 people minimum for a party, you need 24 hours to change/reduce number going. Had reservation for 12, only 10 showed up, 2 backed out last minute. So that is a bummer to pay for 2 people that never came! lol. They have a bar, plenty of adult drinks. After dark the kids kind of disappear. It's cleaner than the place down the road. In Katy, or west houston. If you need to have a bowling night of fun, I'd say hit it up here. It's easier to group fun here with 4 or more people than Top Golf (which is another great adult fun place). I'd recommend to try it out. read more

What a joke... And even worse, waste of time. I feel that based on the advertising & website's "lack of info", it's borderline "bait and switch" tactics. 2 hours unlimited play on video games is only on Mondays, but the website doesn't tell you that. A fun pass allows u to play all the games but they don't tell you that you need to pay $4 to rent shoes for bowling. They don't tell you that kids under 48" tall cannot play anything but bowling...except video games, but we'll get to that in a second. The video games are ridiculously priced, to the point that it's comical. Hahaha, I couldn't believe it...Temple Run= $1.00 Bejeweled=$1.60, basketball hoops=$1.60. These are the same old games in chunky cheese that costs a quarter. Lastly, the process sucks. To play the laser tag or balance beam you have to sign up at a certain counter. Problem is, they don't tell you that until after you wait in line and then the attendant will let you know. What's worse is that there are no signs indicating which counter to go to. It's pretty sad when the can't even post signs explaining the process or where things are located. It's like you have to ask an employee how things work rather than a clearly and fully disclosed, user friendly system. The guy assigning shoes for the balance beam gravity thing asked my kids what shoe size they wore and made them get out of line to come ask me this meant they had to go to the back of the long line when they returned. He could have easily told them to take their shoe off and look at the tag, how pathetic. This place invested a lot in the facility and technology, but it lacks in processes and full disclosures. I came for my birthday and invited about 30 people. We were ready to spend some money too! I arrived first and found out how much of a rip off it was and promptly emailed all the folks and cancelled my birthday get together. The main event lost a lot of revenue on this one. For the cost that this place will gouge you for, you could easily go to a Texans game for the same price, or a concert, or a water park, or a beach trip... FYI: each kid could easily spend $100 I'm willing to spend money on a good value. We got here around 9 pm, they were busy and we had a group of 14. We strictly came to bowl and the wait was an hour and a half (no problem there's plenty to do) once we got to the table to bowl there was a few of us that ordered WATER (6 glasses total) never got it and never got asked about it. Then we decided we would try to order food.... BIG MISTAKE! Food took over and hour to get out and some of our group didn't even get their food until they asked 3 people and it was finally comped via the manager I believe. I went to Main Event today (Sunday) for a birthday party and it was amazing. The place was so clean and well run and all of the staff was so very helpful and friendly! We all had fun bowling and then went to the party room for pizza and cake. The pizza was hot and delicious and the girl in charge of the party was doing a great job at helping serve the kids and keeping the drinks refilled. After the party room, we went out to the arcade for some games. The games were a little more expensive than most arcades (about 1.50-5.00 per game). A couple games weren't working properly, but attendants were right there to help. There was one game that they weren't able to fix, so they gave my daughter back $4.00 credit on her game card (the game only cost 1.75). I'm already over this place. Customer service is horrible. Bar isn't open during advertised happy hour times. Bowling ball returns are broken, and you have to deal with rude teenagers running the place. We had to wait ten minutes for a teenager to finish flirting with a girl to do the ropes course. After 2 and a half hours of waiting we finally got a lane thinking it was all you can play as that's what was told to us. Come to find out you can only play for one hour then your game would be over and you would have to sign back up to get on a list. OK so I have to be honest, I don't really like this place that much but I have visited them several time. Let's start with the service or lack there of. It is pretty bad. For the exception of a few select in the staff the service is pretty bad quality. Now I do not hold it against them. They place gets super packed and I would honestly hate it if I worked at a place like this myself so I understand. Putting that aside, the wait for any of the activities on a popular night is ridiculously long. So why do I still visit them? Overall, they still offer a pretty diverse set of activities and its pretty kid friendly as well. The gravity ropes are pretty cool as well as their laser tag. If you have teenage brothers and sisters like I do that have a lot of energy to burn, then this is the place to go for sure. Just don't expect fast or great service and be prepared to wait in between activities. Also expect a large crowd. If you can overlook all of these things then you you will still have fun. Regardless of all the downfalls we still have fun each time we visit so I still recommend them. read more

Took my little cousins here while I was in town. I really enjoyed this location, I'm from Austin and it was nice that this place had a few different things. It was really clean and nice as well. We got the unlimited pass and it was well worth the money. We bowled first, the bowling lanes were well kept and they had a bunch of balls to choose from and they were all nice and new as well. We ordered some food while on the lanes. The nachos and the kids meals were good for being an event center. We played in the arcade and they had a ton of game options to choose from as well. It's different now a days because there is no actual ticket so you get the instant satisfaction. It's all using cards now. My favorite thing there was the tight ropes. It was super fun, and a little tricky but well worth it. I wish there was more of these around. We also did the laser tag, but some of the equipment wasn't well maintained so we had some issues with out game. I would definitely come back and take my little cousins back as well. read more

I've been here a couple times now and will say the only time it was worth it was for $9.95 bowling/laser tag on Monday night. I REALLY don't like the set up they have for bowling. It's too crunched together. I basically had to squeeze by the people playing on the lane next to us every time I wanted to walk by. The middle walkway between lanes is too narrow. It was annoying. The laser tag was fun. The room kind of smelled musty though. Could maybe use a good deep carpet shampoo and disinfectant. Their game selection is good. I like Dave and Buster's better. I also don't like the whole electronic ticket thing. I think it takes some fun out of the experience when you don't get to collect your paper tickets after a game. Will NOT be back to this location. This is the second time we have come after the first time having a bad experience we decided to try one more time. The first time we came here we had problems with the machine you use to charge your play card. The machine froze in the middle of the transaction. We chose the $100 game play package and it had already charged to my account pending on my credit card. But the card to play video games with said $0. The person helping us said I would not be charged the $100 and they would give me the $100 to play with. Well I checked my account days later and In fact I was charged. No big deal but if you tell me one thing and it does another yes I will be disappointed. Another problem was from that night the games did not calculate any points to the card after. The person helping us said they would contact me to fix this and I was never contacted! Our second experience was more pleasant as the machine to recharge your card was working. Come to find out all our point again did not show up to the card! So we have lost around 5,000 points at this main event. Adding the wizard of oz sets to our card each time and did not receive any points for them. We will continue to go to the Main Event In Humble it is a lot better! read more

The place is fun but, the staff is terrible! especially the manager, to be honest, i dont know if shes the manager but she is rude and extremely ugly towards staff especially custodial staff, she is racist! i heard her tell colleagues that the custodians need to go back to their country and learn better english, this happened today after she unnecessarily was being rude to custodial staff in the first place, telling them to do work they weren't even assigned to do in the first place. read more

I've read a lot of negative reviews for this location, but we might've gotten the A-team crew when we visited today. Service was very responsive all around - the front-desk, the waitress taking care of us at the bowling alley, the Winner's Circle cashiers to the young men working the arcade; the young men were a little moody, but I would be too if I had to deal with energetic kids all day. One of the kids with me actually dropped his Funcard inside the bowling couch. It took four different tries from an employee and a manager to remove the couch cushion and find it. I took off one star because we had so many problems with the arcade games. Two of the air hockey tables were broken, and our kids swiped their cards a few times elsewhere (and were charged for it) without getting to play their game. I got tired of calling the arcade guys to help repeatedly, so I let it go. read more
